I hate to say, but that is not my experience. With Humana, I did have a $0 copay for birth control, but not with Blue Cross Blue Shield. I had to pay a copay and it was expensive. It was a shock after it being $0 with Humana. Now I am on a different insurance plan, but I am guessing that I am going to have a copay again. I wish every insurance company had a $0 copay for birth control, but that is not the case.

well shit, that fucking sucks! I was under the impression that the pills at least were free because it's preventative care (that's what my gyno told me).

here's hoping that all medication will be free or have a very low copay.

How much was your co pay? It shouldn't be really expensive

Because  I have nothing else better to do in this snow storm here are some more pics from March for life. I'm losing some brain cells posting this.

Also shocked the Duggars didn't parade baby miracle around. Too bad Josh didn't show up. Didn't see our favorite  fundies. You fail the fetuses fundies.

Not sure if this is the same group of fine folks y'all were talking about up thread.

You would think that they would have had a touch of divine intervention to make it home safely since they were out doing just what Jesus would have wanted them to do.....

I am in Toronto, you can get free birth control at any sexual health clinic in the city. They also provide free day after pills and condoms. You can have an abortion for free as well (different location) You can even "walk in" and get one that day. You do not need parental permission if under-age. Is this all because Canadians are ok with killing bahbees? No, it is because we are NOT okay with the horrible lengths a woman will have to go to if she wants to abort and the services are not available.

Unless she lives in PEI, I have no idea wtf happened out there...

I'm curious  about birth control and abortion in other countries.  I know certain countries you Europe a woman gets free birth control, medical care, laid leave, and free abortion. In fact in Norway a woman can walk into a hospital  request an abortion and get one that easily. No waiting period. No bible verses, no shaming. I don't even thing there's  protests either. I know in Canada  there might be. But generally  it's a different cause than here. Too bad America is run by corrupt people who only gives a shit about themselves. They have the if you're poor do something about it mentality.

We have douchebag protesters too. They are not allowed to close though and it is a pretty well (Not ALL but most) a smaller group. When I lived close to a clinic I was in University and we used to stop and protest the protesters just for fun and within about 10 minutes an exasperated Police officer would turn up and move us ALL along.

We have what they call buffer zones, and the patients are considered moving targets so no matter where they are they have a zone around them.

Toronto, Ontario: 500 feet fixed buffer zone around doctors' homes, 25 feet (7.6 m) fixed buffer zone around doctors' offices, 60 feet (18 m) fixed buffer zone around two clinics in the Cabbagetown and Scott districts, 30 feet (9.1 m) fixed buffer zone around another clinic, and 10-foot (3.0 m) floating buffer zone around patients and staff. The injunction was granted on August 30, 1994.[10]

We have had our share of crazy that lead to these laws, the Morgentaller bombing being the climax.

Adoption solves the problem of an unwanted baby, not an unwanted pregnancy, when will these people figure that out?! And again, you don't get any Jesus points for being pro-life unless you also support the steps that will actually lower abortion rates. Most of these people probably don't. They just like holding signs.

Yeah it'd be nice to have that here in the states.  With our wonderful SCROTUS though they'd probably strike that down as imposing on the free speech of the wonderful little old ladies who come out and gently counsel the women to change their minds about abortion - which is what that dictator wannabe Scalia said the protesters are.

I find the "black lives matter" abortion pics to be annoying. Many women of different races abort for medical reasons and sometimes they do it to save themselves especially when they already have kids.

These folks from Nebraska got stuck on a bus overnight in PA as well.

Okay I'm just gonna spit it out. Suddenly  the prolife movement whose made up of white evangelical  Christians care about black lives. Do they understand  black lives? Nope. Racist fucks.

I hate, hate, hate it. They take the same total lack of fucks they give about all babies once they're born, and heap an extra layer of bullshit on it. Not only do they not provide any useful services to a poor black mother, but they will consider her nothing more than a welfare queen who doesn't deserve help. They will spend every other breath justifying racism and police brutality towards African Americans. But we're supposed to believe that they care about black communities? Give me a fucking break.

Does it matter to the idiot quoting MLK that he was pro-choice? Of course not.

He was? I thought that he was into family planning but that when he was assassinated is was prior to abortion becoming legal en mass so there was not as much pro life vs pro choice argument since there was yet to be a real legal "choice" I know that he was given an award from PP but thought that it as just for him taking a stance on contraception, not abortion.

I know his widow was Pro Choice while his neice is Pro Life.

I hope that I am misguided on this because it would be awesome if he was Pro Choice and they were using his words in such stupidity. I just thought that it was not a really topical issue of his time.

Yep. I've seen people go in on black single moms. If she has more than one kid they automatically  assume she has different  baby daddies. There was a couple who had 10 kids. Both parents worked. They were expecting number 11. You don't believe  the comments about them. But yet people like the Duggars who are stupid and poor can have kid after kid knowing damn well they shouldn't but nobody blinks an eye. Our society  is fucked up

If they're really anti-abortion, they should be rallying for every sexually active woman who doesn't want children (yet or ever) to use BC.  I realize that many who are against BC are using their own interpretations of the bible, and are also trying to force abstinence, but the fact remains:  If a woman isn't pregnant she isn't going to get an abortion.  And (IMO) if you're preventing women's access to BC, then you're indirectly causing abortions.  They should pull their heads out of...wherever...and figure that out.  By their own definition, deaths would be prevented.

Oh, you miss the point where women are not supposed to be sexually active unless they are up for having a baby.  And certainly not if they are not married.... because using birth

control gets in the way of God's punishment for Eve/Women, ie, big headed babies.

I have yet to read comments on abortion articles from newspapers and magazines that didn't include comments on how any woman who doesn't want a kid needs to keep her damn legs together/not have sex.

rme at the ones trying to undermine the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement. The awful "until there are no more abortions, black lives do not matter" one comes right out and says it, but the others, while more coy, are driving at the same thing-- theoretical fetuses are waaaay more important than the normalized, systemic casual murder of people around us!

In Germany, all forms of birth control have to be paid for by the woman herself. Insurance does not cover it. The pill is between 40 and 60€ for 6 months.

Misogynoir is cray.

Also, am I the only one who finds "I love you and your baby too?" creepy af?  Also the irony of "the root cause of abortion is selfishness" when these pro-life people are like "I CAN'T HAVE A BABY WHY WON'T YOU CARRY IT TO TERM SO I CAN ADOPT!!!" You know, because it's a woman's responsibility to carry a baby so you can have a kid.

Also, the "It's science!" is total BS, because I think there's no consensus on when it's considered "life." That's a philosophical question, often due to your religion. Leave your pseudoscience bullshit out of it.

I really hate when people treat placing a baby for adoption like it's this simple, easy thing.

Yes, sometimes it is the necessary outcome for the mother and child, but that doesn't mean it's rainbows and sunshine to give up your child for someone else to raise. At best the decision usually comes with a lot of sadness and regret, and at worst it can come with deep permanent trauma and/or a massive amount of coercion and pressure from other people. It also has a major impact on the child's life and future, and can have a deep emotional effect for the child too.

Acting like adoption is an easy breezy solution instead of abortion is not realistic and is not fair to a woman in a crisis pregnancy situation. Adoption is complicated and difficult - which doesn't automatically make it the wrong choice, but which means it's not the simple right choice for everyone either.

Agree with that @Mercer.

It seems to me that it is way more about making sure that the heathens that have "chosen" to get Pregnant are justly punished for their mistake. The thought that a woman is able to engage in any type of sex that she wants to and that she no longer is required to walk around a stained women with a scarlet letter just gulls them..

The thought that it may be a matter of her NOT wanting to be pregnant is just written off as selfishness. There are so many different reasons a woman may not want to be pregnant that there is no use in even going there, it all boils down to people wanting to control other people and make them live according to their moral standards.

They can march all day long, It is STILL legal.

Is Germany trying to increase their birthrate?  I remember hearing, admittedly a long time ago, that Germans were averaging less than two children per couple and that there was some concern about it.  Could the insurance rule be related to that?

To the one that says "I love you and your baby." If you love me you would respect that I am a woman who is capable of making the right choice for myself.
