If Bernie wins the presidency, Republican anti-semitism would be justified by the claim that Bernie is "the wrong kind of Jew," just like how they justify racism towards Obama by claiming that he's a commie, Muslim, anti-colonialist, and not really black because his mom was white. I could see them trawling around, trying to find a right-wing Jewish candidate for 2020, and asserting that they, unlike the Democrats, have a "real Jewish" candidate, sort of like how Herman Cain and Ben Carson are supposed to be "real blacks."

Jana's hair..foil frosted, not pulling all that thru a cap!  Someone with some knowledge had to have done that..firstly because foils take a bit of skill and secondly you don't want to play with bleach--color can always be fixed and you can't overprocess--bleach left on too long will turn hair to cotton candy, not long enough and it appears yellow/orange.  

Ted Cruz?  Now I am a conserative (fiscally speaking) and he scares me to death!  Where have all the moderates (on both sides of the aisle) gone?

As a journalist in Iowa, during caucus season, I had to cover Ted Cruz at a rally. I quickly realized while Donald Trump may say crazy things to get a rise out of people, Ted Cruz actually believes every wackadoo thing he says. And believe me, after standing next to Ted Cruz, he most definitely has a doughy, punchable face. Much like Josh Duggar. Trump, Cruz, Duggar. All crazies.

It was so cold that day, and we were in an area without heat. You could literally see the air coming from his mouth. It was in the morning, so I had to go back to the office right afterward, but I really had to detox my mind from what I had just put it through.

I feel like moderates just end up being criticized for not being extreme enough. It's nuts.

There's really so much we don't know about The Duggars. There's so much I would like to know. What the hell is life like right now? There are 13ish kids, Gma M, JB, M, Anna, Ms...all in Tonitown.

All those people and the best we can do is speculate about Jana's hair.

 Only a few seem to leave at any given time. Can't be fun. Oh that tell-all book will be so fascinating.  

I also wonder if any of them even have that level of awareness yet. (that, painful as it would be, they could do gosomething like write a book and get paid and leave) Josh probably does. I don't think he really deserves book money though.......Unless, maybe, it was a complete antonment and renouncement of his crimes and Gothard and he wanted proceeds to go to victims of abuse or something....

I'll help you with that! 

JB and Michelle are horrible parents and horrible people.  They sold their family's privacy for money and push their homophobic, misogynistic, patriarchal values onto the public all wrapped up in pretty packaging of "family values, Christian principles and well-behaved children".  So many people buy it with their ignorance-is-bliss dollars that TLC continues to pimp them out.

JB and Michelle's horrible parenting is highlighted best by their eldest son, Josh.  He's due to be released from Jesus Camp soon to come home and reunite with his long-suffering wife Anna and their 4 kids.  JB and M will hide him, support him to keep him under their thumbs and unable to further screw up their gravy train.  Anna will continue to be a martyr to Gothard teachings to keep sweet, serve faithfully and fellowship sweetly with her errant hubby every time and way he wants it.  There will probably be a redemption baby soon.

JD will continue to hide out and run his businesses.  Jana will continue to slave for her parents.  So will Jinger, Joy, Joe, et al.  The children will continue to be raised by their older sisters.  The boys will continue to work for JB, JD, or in a business set up by JB, so he can keep them under his thumb.

When ratings are needed, there will probably be a new courtship forced on one of the Duggar children (see Josiah and Marjorie).  JB and M will continue to talk about adopting a child, solely to garner attention to their stale, rapidly molding brand.

Jessa and Ben will stay under the Duggar umbrella since they are living in Grandma's house, Ben works for JB and Jessa needs the help with her household duties and Spurge.  Another baby will be announced by the end of 2016.

Jill and Derrick will probably stay missionaries until they feel the heat is sufficiently off them so they can come home without another hue and cry being raised about all their back-and-forthing.  Jill might wait until she's back in the States to get pregnant, but frankly, it's a miracle she's gone this long.  Derrick will continue to look unwell.  Israel will continue to be a normal, healthy baby regardless of how much everyone snarks on how non-smart they think he looks.

Josie will of course be the princess run amok.

No, they won't write a tell-all.  Being ostracized by your family is horrid and painful and they are all steeped far too well in the cult tea to walk away.

Oh I hope it's not a welcome home party! If it is and they're filming it, Joshley's smug face and redemption tour may happen sooner than I thought.

I was expecting them to hide him away for a bit upon release so that when the announcement comes, it would be "Josh has been back and being such a wonderful father and has begun his own ministry which is already helping to serve the similarly afflicted sinners of the world." Or whatever following that "he's been out and good" outline.

I assumed they would just stage a welcome home party whenever it was all ready to go public. But if this is a welcome home party, either he has been home long enough that they are ready to stage it now or they have a lot of faith that the Duggars will remain lucrative until this footage airs. Which, given that there have been no official announcements yet of either the show's air dates or Josh being home, probably entails a few months. Especially with the riveting treehouse episode presumably airing first to pave the way.

I hope it's just them shopping so that TLC can provide us with valuable state about how many cans they open in a week and show shots of them wiping out the store's stock of paper plates. Sadly, my hopes and reality rarely line up with this family. Can you imagine being filmed as your smug molester or cheating husband struts back into position in your life?

If sierra is there then they're planning something over the top.  This isnt a small family gathering.  If Joy is there, it isnt related to her.  Sure, it could be a disgusting valentine's day couple's date... but given the timing Joshly is most likely.

Another courtship, another baby, or (shudder) an adoption? Probably just welcome home Joshy, we forgive you because we're wonderful Christians.

Still, what are the Duggars to do? The audience got bored with dental trips and bankruptcy lessons, so off to Europe and Asia. Boring. Courtships and babies. OK, we've seen all that. Scandals? Gets the ratings, but we can't have a new one every week. Duggars, you're done.

Long time lurker, first time poster here. 

Great post, Violynn! Can I just add that Jordyn and Jennifer will continue to be ignored by mama Michelle so she can give attention to her little precious princess, Josie?

It's boring because they are all a.) uneducated and b.) phony and c.) shallow. Of course their lives revolve around grocery shopping and playing in the yard and cleaning house and wiping noses because they have no interests other than Bible and Family.  They do go out and picket the heathens from time to time but TLC is too chicken-shit to show that side of the Duggars .  They also can't show what goes on at Bible time or during church service so that leaves Family.

They could actually make the Family part interesting but the Duggars are  dull and unimaginative in their daily life (that heart to heart Michelle had with Jessa at the coffee shop was excruciating to watch) and too afraid of the truth to bare all.  When Anna teared up and let us in on what she had been going through during the special, that was some of the best footage they have ever shown because it felt real. They have tried to inject interest with  over-the-top parties but the 400 painted flamingos just came across as wasteful.  As did the baby food making contest. So they either need to get a better party planner or they need to start drinking.

I think they are filming a welcome home for Jill and Derrick - here's why:

My suspicion is that Jill and Derrick will come back soon. She will come home immediately if she gets pregnant, because for all their blathering about every child a blessing from God, etc, I don't think they'd do well with a special needs child - if they have mega-families there just wouldn't be the time to devote properly. Also there is that (wrong) view by some fundamentalists that birth defects are a punishment. That being the flip side of "God has blessed us SO MUCH with many healthy children". Also the way they downplay the problems Josie had when she was younger makes me think that.

Someone previously posted something about Jill weaning Izzie - if true, then baby #2 could come along at any time, and that would mean coming back to Arkansas immediately. I'm sure JB has some job in mind for Derrick so he doesn't have to work for a (gasp!) Corporation run by worldly people!

As for Josh - they will keep it VERY low-key, whatever he ends up doing.
