I just want to wish you all a wonderful 2016. I've really enjoyed being a member this year and I feel like I know some of you, in an Internet kind of way. It's been so much fun and I can't believe the varied topics discussed since I joined, and, of course, all the years before that. 

Anyway, happy new year, fellow Jingerites. You are a great bunch of (mostly) ladies. Here's to a great year ahead. *cheers*.

Happy New Year to all of you. I love being here too... Such intelligent and thought-provoking conversation. And fun. Fun fact.... Our local news just reported 66% of people are staying home for NYE. Count me in.... (guess I'm just boring. Or average.

Happy New Year!  Count me in with the 66% staying home.   I've never liked bars or clubs, and the older I get, the less I like crowds.  So I haven't gone out on New Years in about 20 years.  I'm spending the evening bonding with the cats and dog while Mr. CL snores on the couch.  Tomorrow morning, I'm going to the grocery store because the employees will outnumber customers; it's like having the store to myself!

I am not at home. I am however not yet having any kind of fun. Things kick off slow at the bar. This place has helped me too this year. Lots of weird things have happened and I needed an outlet. I'm glad you guys are here. I didn't think the duggars would lead to this.

Happy New Year, FJ! I think finding Free Jinger may have been one of the nicest things to come out of 2015 for me. As a member of the invasion force that arrived after Joshgate 1, I'm thankful for all the fun and frolic I discovered here and all the amazing people. Here's to a great 2016 for all of us!

P.S. @caszandra, thanks for the Auld Lang Syne!

      My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

      I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
      I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

      We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

      Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
