Didn't the Duggars use a Huckabee related lawyer to take care of the records after things became public? I'd call that LITERALLY defending Josh.

Honestly though, defend Josh all you want. He was a young, sheltered kid who obviously was in need of some serious therapy. But you sure as hell can't be defending Jim Bob and Michelle, who not only didn't get him that therapy he needed, but also didn't get the victims adequate counseling either. They then covered up the entire fiasco with political finagling and married him off to some poor, uneducated woman, leaving her and her children to be victims of a man with issues that clearly have not been, and are not being, dealt with. (For the record, I'm not suggesting that there are any further victims of molestation, but that Anna and the M'kids are victims of Josh's incredibly poor decision making and lack of self control - a situation that JB & M, along with the Keller parents, set them up for)

Timing is interesting and wouldn't be surprised if there's another bomb about to drop.   There's bound to be more on Josh and just other shenanigans with that family in general.

My other theory is that he's gotten some flack from somewhere for having defended Smugs and is backtracking for some reason.

That's what I was asking earlier.  Then it occurred to me...Maybe Huckabutt gave an interview recently in which a reporter asked him, among other things, to talk about his earlier defense of Josh in light of the subsequent AM-pornstar-lawsuit scandal.  Huckabutt, being on the stump and generally not too self-aware, became defensive and backtracked on earlier statements.  The reporter jumped all over it, because, you know, the media likes to play "gotcha" with dumb ass politicians.

I don't remember if he's a lawyer, but they are definitely using a friend of Huckabee's for PR. Search my posts for Chad Gallagher. The Duggar plane flew to his (tiny and unlikely to be a destination for any other reason) town this month, iirc, though in fairness it was immediately after an ALERT graduation. I wonder if Gallagher has any ALERT-aged sons.

I have always thought he was somehow in the running for the money.  He is much richer than he was before he ran last time.....

Sorry, but shame isn't going to work here. I would LOVE to see the reaction of a ultraconservative, anti-choice spouting hate monger like Jim Bob when he learns his son knocked up a hooker. That's just desserts.

You know what, I'm disgusted at how the molestations are being dismissed as opportunistic acts by a sexually repressed teenager who had no interactions with girls his own age.

FACT: Like-minded families with teenage girls visited

FACT: He attended conferences where there were plenty of teenage girls.

FACT: Given the above, it wouldn't have been hard to sneak off with a WILLING girl to make out.

What Josh did was predatory not opportunistic. He brought this on himself. He his the one solely responsible for his actions. He knew what he was doing was wrong. Yes, JB and Michelle are to blame for covering it all up. The rest of it I'll leave to mental health professionals.

So, no, I won't censor myself either. The truth hurts, but it has to be told.

The fact is that the vast, vast majority of people raised as Josh was raised would not do what he has admitted to doing in his teens (or what he is accused of doing as an adult if that is actually true).  I think it is pretty clear the Duggar parenting and lifestyle played a role in all of this.  I think that is why some tend to defend or appear to defend him.  I know I struggle to try to decide what Jill or Jessa should be cut some slack on as they didn't chose how they were raised AND they really don't know any other way.  Same goes for Josh to a degree.  HOWEVER, at some point it doesn't matter if you are born that way, if your parents made you into this, or whatever.  At some point, it is the actual impact of your behavior on others that matters.  He is an adult now and has choices (though I get that it is hard to break away from all you know).  He WAS predatory and may well still be.   He was raised to have no respect for women and children (at least in terms of how I define respect) and on top of that he was raised to believe that women and children are put on this earth to serve his needs and do his bidding.  That type of upbringing could easily translate into a predatory asshat.  I genuinely don't know if Josh realizes the impact he has on others or why it is a problem - but at some point that simply does not matter.  I truly hope he is getting help and that that help is effective.

Personal theory about the incoming "bombshell": either Joshley is coming home, or the Duggars are releasing a stump ad for Fuckabee.

Although I wish it were another Duggar disaster. One that really blows the doors of the dog and pony show, but doesn't mean potential permanent psychological damage for a child. Maybe some financial impropriety or something? I can't imagine that everything's on the up and up, given Boobs real estate wealth, Jill's griftcation, and the comfort and consumption in that 20+ person household.

Most of these assclowns are running for higher speaking and book fees.  They get some press and their name on peoples minds and BAM, extra money.  Its maximum grift for minimum work.  Sadly, on the GOP side the only 2 who are remotely qualified Christie and Kasick (sp?) don't stand a chance in hell, because they are considered "moderate and sane" when in fact they are awful.

I have a long-time friend who says this exact same thing, and I agree with her (and with you). I does explain a whole lot that otherwise wouldn't make sense.

I just hope somehow that this also applies to Trump, and that in reality he won't even make the final ticket.

The headline was "Huckabee denies his love affair with Josh Duggar."

I dropped everything and immediately came here. I was extremely disappointed.

While it would be terrible for Anna to have to deal with a pregnant hooker, I feel like it would all be a positive if that happened to be the thing that pushes her to end the marriage. Then for my own personal happiness I would hope she would write a vicious tell-all as a way to support herself

Doesn't anyone feel sorry for the hypothetical pregnant hooker? I do. I can't imagine having a child who carried Smuggar's genes. Being forever linked to him. Please, God, no extra-marital pregnancies. (And no more in the marriage, either, please.)
