Cousin Famy got married. Various Duggars were in attendance. There was alcohol at the reception.

And cleavage. Lots of (NIKE!) cleavage. :pb_eek:

I still don't get how Amy and her husband can speak so openly (and on the down low) to press and they are still embraced by the D clan.   Do you think it's okay or even encouraged?    Is Amy getting away with it because Grandma Mary still protects her?  Is this why we didn't see Dill Pickle in the holiday posts?

Oh, and have we discussed the fact her parents have filed for divorce?

Maybe the Duggars subscribe to the "There's no such thing as bad publicity" mindset at this point.  As long as people are talking about them, then it's more likely people will know (and watch) their specials.  We'll see if all the tidbits dry up now that the specials are over.

And Famy's mom and step dad are getting a divorce... Boob must be all over this one like white on rice.  Clearly, this is Deanna's fault for giving away all those pieces of her heart...

Not step dad, dad. Her biological father.

I wonder if Amy is really not the leak?  There are a ton of "family friends" who could be jealous or mean enough to give things to the press.

As for DimBulb being all over her divorce, he has enough problems in his own family to worry about his grown sister with one grown child getting a divorce.

The thing about Jimbob is that he's always very quick to focus on the splinter in another's eye and totally ignore the large plank of wood in his own.

Wait, Terry Jordan is amy's bio dad? The one whom Deanna filled a restraining order against when amy was a little girl? I am confused

Yes, it is the same man. There was an article in July that said he may not be her real father afterall,

http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/amy-duggar-terry-jordan-not-real-father/

but Amy and her parents have said all along that she was born out of wedlock and her parents reunited later on and married.

Just saw this http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/amy-duggars-dad-files-for-divorce-w160548

Quote

“It has been quite a year to be a Duggar,” Amy, 29, told Entertainment Tonight.

But Amy, I thought you weren't a Duggar anymore?!

Quote

“They have had an on/off relationship for a long time,” she admitted to ET. “It's sad they can't be a team. The divorce papers came, and my dad told me through a text on Christmas. I don't think he meant to, he just didn't know what to do. I was devastated. It hit me so hard."

That is pretty shitty.

Quote

According to the divorce documents, Terry claims that his ex-wife had treated him “with such indignities as to render his condition in life intolerable.” They separated on Sunday, December 20, with Terry filing for divorce a day later.

I don't even know what to make of that one...

Do divorce papers really get drawn up and delivered that quickly??

Simple ones take minutes to complete or he may have already consulted with the lawyer before the separation.

particularly if they were on and off as Amy claimed, at least in Australia they're relatively stock standard documents where you just add names and specific complaints and monetary figures.

Wow. Can you really get a divorce this willy-nilly in the US?

No-- this is just referring to completing the divorce papers (the application for a divorce, to put it another way)

I think it was pretty crappy of her dad to tell Amy in a text message. News that serious needs to be said face to face (if possible).

So Famy's been out of the news a while and decided to drop this little nugget that she was getting fitted for her wedding dress when she found out Josh was a molester. http://www.people.com/article/amy-duggar-king-discusses-moment-she-learned-josh-duggar-sex-scandal

Apparently Amy wasn't part of the confession tour of 2006.

Apparently the divorce is all due to Deanna's behaviour.

It takes two to tango, HOWEVER Deanna has the same f*ed up mum in GMM so we have NO IDEA what she thinks, does etc.

Assuming you mean about the molestations and not affairs, yes?

If it's true, if she didn't know there is even more proof that the Duggars covered it up and were not as open as they claimed to be.  We're any safeguards put in place to protect her from him?  Just more info that doesn't add up.  I tend to believe Amy a bit more than the Duggars though.  She just wants attention, they try to control the information and how it's interpreted.

Was this the link you meant to post?  The article is talking about the pornography infidelity scandal (Joshgate 2) not the molestation scandal ( Joshgate 1).

Quote

Amy Duggar King's final wedding dress  fitting was supposed to be a joyful moment for the reality star, but her happy day was cut short when her cousin Josh publicly confessed that he cheated on his wife Anna and had an addiction to pornography.

I seem to remember that in an earlier interview Amy said that she heard about the molestation scandal along with everyone else.  I don't doubt the truth of this because she would have been young when it all happened so her mom would not have told her and I doubt the Duggar girls told her about it.

Isn't Amy a year or two older than Josh?

I am inclined to believe Amy in that she did not find out about the molestation until this year... not only does it support the extent of the JB's cover-up, but that their close relationship with cousin Amy (and vice-versa) was scripted from early on in 17 Kids and Counting.

I sort of agree. Eh, I don't really know or care; I just feel like the blog entry People quoted was written for maximum drama, and my reaction is maximum eyerolling.

A year or two either way makes no difference. She would have been young (15-19) when Josh's molestation was taking place and so would not have participated in the family gossip. Her mother would have had to tell her for her to know, and I can see Deanna not telling Amy so as not to prejudice her friendship with her boy cousins--or to protect the girl cousins.   She may not have worried that Amy might be at risk because the story she heard was almost certainly the "lite" version ( light touching over clothes while girls were sleeping).  In some interview, Amy said that she had been vaguely aware that he had been sent a way, but not why.
