I still don't get how Amy and her husband can speak so openly (and on the down low) to press and they are still embraced by the D clan.   Do you think it's okay or even encouraged?    Is Amy getting away with it because Grandma Mary still protects her?  Is this why we didn't see Dill Pickle in the holiday posts?  

 

Oh, and have we discussed the fact her parents have filed for divorce?

Maybe the Duggars subscribe to the "There's no such thing as bad publicity" mindset at this point.  As long as people are talking about them, then it's more likely people will know (and watch) their specials.  We'll see if all the tidbits dry up now that the specials are over.

I wonder if Amy is really not the leak?  There are a ton of "family friends" who could be jealous or mean enough to give things to the press.

As for DimBulb being all over her divorce, he has enough problems in his own family to worry about his grown sister with one grown child getting a divorce.

Yes, it is the same man. There was an article in July that said he may not be her real father afterall,

particularly if they were on and off as Amy claimed, at least in Australia they're relatively stock standard documents where you just add names and specific complaints and monetary figures.

Assuming you mean about the molestations and not affairs, yes?   

If it's true, if she didn't know there is even more proof that the Duggars covered it up and were not as open as they claimed to be.  We're any safeguards put in place to protect her from him?  Just more info that doesn't add up.  I tend to believe Amy a bit more than the Duggars though.  She just wants attention, they try to control the information and how it's interpreted.

Was this the link you meant to post?  The article is talking about the pornography infidelity scandal (Joshgate 2) not the molestation scandal ( Joshgate 1).

I am inclined to believe Amy in that she did not find out about the molestation until this year... not only does it support the extent of the JB's cover-up, but that their close relationship with cousin Amy (and vice-versa) was scripted from early on in 17 Kids and Counting.

A year or two either way makes no difference. She would have been young (15-19) when Josh's molestation was taking place and so would not have participated in the family gossip. Her mother would have had to tell her for her to know, and I can see Deanna not telling Amy so as not to prejudice her friendship with her boy cousins--or to protect the girl cousins.   She may not have worried that Amy might be at risk because the story she heard was almost certainly the "lite" version ( light touching over clothes while girls were sleeping).  In some interview, Amy said that she had been vaguely aware that he had been sent a way, but not why.
