So when Josh finishes his "treatment"  will he be shipped to Big Sandy to work on the Waller homestead?

PS  You know what Pecan needs out there in East Texas? A cowboy hat and boots. (with the khakis of course)

Also, chaps.

Assless, preferably.

I agree it would make a lot of sense to relocate Josh & family to Big Sandy. I think he would be miserable there--I got the feeling he really enjoyed working & playing in DC.

Perhaps he could even start up a business (used car lot again?) there to cater to the influx of Gothardites.  How about a Chic-fil-a franchise? I just checked their website & the nearest one to Big Sandy is 19 miles away in Longview

Josh was in hog heaven in DC.

RU is probably mostly being used as a hard stop between his fun and games being a really important political player (in his mind), sexy, manly sex machine (in his mind) and porn connoisseur and what will be - the Duggars' new favorite catch phrase - his "new normal".

Josh may try to work hard after he's finally released, but I can't see it lasting.  Remembering his instagram photos and posts from the time he was running the car lot, it's clear he has no interest in real work.  He'd run another lot into the ground.  As for a fast food franchise, that's a ton of hard work that he'd never be up for.

My guess is that Jim Bob gets this and will try to set him up with something that's not too taxing but provides enough income for basics.  Big Sandy might provide options, or maybe he will keep him closer to home and family businesses.

Relocating Josh would make sense.  While i think JB will keep Josh around and under his supervision, namely because he's not going to be able to help himself from hovering over his errant son, sending him to Big Sandy could be an extended version of his "rehab" or whatever it is he's doing now.  He would have Pecan and others around to keep him "accountable" and busy doing work plus there's simply not going to be all the temptations fun things that there were in DC.  I agree he would be miserable but I think that misery will be a given for him no matter where he ends up.

I can see this happening. He could work in some IBLP office job (out of sight, and with some major filters on his work computer). He and Anna could be stashed in a house with David and Priscilla as neighbors/monitors.

Thanks, @nokidsmom. It was just too funny to pass up."Why have just one?"

We first found it in a store outside Zion National Park.  We LOL'd so loud right there in the store.    Later during the same trip, Mr. No requested it at a local restaurant.   The waiter mentioned that some of the FLDS men who live nearby occasionally came to the restaurant (aha! now we knew they drink!) and he had to be careful in listing the beer choices as in "um, and we have a porter....".  It was hilarious!

I think this is a very plausible possibility and how freaking sad is that.

Regardless of what I think of Mr. Waller, which isn't much, he doesn't deserve to have to keep an eye on Smuggar's sexual shenanigans.   Unless he whips it out at the dinner table over Thanksgiving David shouldn't have to concern himself with what his brother in law is doing with his genitals.

but how bizarre that a culture exists where adults can be expected to help other adults be accountable for their sexual behavior...but all women/girls are accountable for the men so I'm sure this is par for the course for them.

Not an assignment I'd take on without a check larger than even Gothard could write.

How about buying a truck or seeking employment in the trucking industry?

A good high school friend of my brother's told him that he wanted to be a trucker because he'd just get to sit on his butt and drive.  Of course, it takes more than that.

ETA:  I just had a thought of Josh with the "lot lizards", i.e., the prostitutes that hang out at truck stops.  :brainbleach:

Lol. My uncle is a truck driver. Driving large trucks is a skillset that requires a fair amount of talent. Some of his stories about driving through mountain passages make me :pb_eek:. Plus, you start out as a long hauler before you can even think about one of the more cushy regional or local jobs.

Considering the Wallers have been on the road for most of the year, if Priscilla is baking #3, hopefully she's not too far along because the idea of them getting it on in an RV with adult family members and friends nearby...ugh.  Naturally that didn't stop the Rodrigii family from producing their latest in an RV, but then again only their own children (who are probably used to David R. fulfilling his marital needs) were on board at the time.

Also, I lived in North Carolina at one point, and no one had basements in the eastern part of the state because the water table was too high to dig a basement.  Our house (a nice colonial) had a crawl space with a dirt "floor" and I believe there were just footings of some sort holding up the house.  Those who lived in public housing had homes built of literal cinder blocks laid right on the dirt and mortared together into a box-like structure.  Where I live now in the north we have a basement, but friends of ours don't because their house is in an area above bedrock so close to the surface anyone who wants a basement or pool has to dynamite.

A call center is probably the best bet for Josh's future employment.  He'll be kept on a VERY short leash (if it is anything like the call center I worked for) and he can stay under the radar.

I don't think that anyone who was educated at SOTDRT should be a truck driver.

There's a bridge in Durham, NC that trucks crash into all the time despite it's 11'8" clearance being clearly noted.  There is a website with videos of these crashes:

Any employment where Josh would not be constantly under supervision of "accountability partners" is straight out - and that would include driving a truck (local delivery or long haul), I think if Josh and family get sent to Big Sandy, that would be preferable to living in housing provided by JB on the compound, and chauffering his dad around to auctions, which is probably what will actually happen.

Josh is the fundy version of Mr. Rochester's insane wife in Jane Eyre.  If he could, I bet JB would prefer to lock Josh away in an attic somewhere.

And in Raleigh, NC: Peace Street Bridge.

That bridge takes out trucks on a fairly regular basis.

Google Photos to the rescue!

This could be the same bridge. I know that the bridge was in the Raleigh-Durham metroplex, but may have been mistaken about the exact city.

I also think it's likely that Joshley & Anna will end up in Big Sandy. There would be several reasons why:

1. The Duggar family members themselves seem to be pretty pissed at him (some more than others), so having him sit around at the TTH would be pretty tense for all parties. I'd say many of them would be very glad if he just stayed away from them for a long time.

2. ATI/IBLP is one of the only places where he could find some kind of job.

3. Having to live at a place among so many other Gothardites would be like living in the Big Brother house. Getting away to visit strip clubs and porn stars would be much, much harder than it was in D.C..

4. He could work with Pecan (who could also keep an eye on him) while Priss could brainwash "encourage" Anna to stay within the cult and with Joshley.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pecan & Priss would be assigned to supervise help Joshley & Anna.

I remember one of their ads was "Bring some home to the wives." Somewhere I still have a t-shirt from the same brewery for "St. Provo Girl--If you just said 'Oh, my heck' it's not for you."

I think Josh will be home for a year because JB & Michelle will want to take control in making sure their marriage is being repaired. After one year is up, I think Josh and Anna will head to Big Sandy. JB & Michelle know that some of their kids are very angry at Josh and so, they are just going to keep him around long enough to make sure that Anna doesn't run away anywhere but after that, I believe they will send him off to Big Sandy for sure.

Hopefully it wouldn't be a sex chat line. Why did I have to think of that? Yuck.

@Black AlissYes!  Now I remember seeing that ad too!

Didn't know about St. Provo Girl...just googled it and oh my heck, that's hilarious spoof on St. Pauli Girl.

Speaking of Utah breweries, we frequented the one in Moab which featured an ale called Dead Horse Ale, their slogan was "you can't beat a dead horse".  I have a hat with that slogan from that brewery.
