Maxwells on the road and a secret picture!

So, I'm wondering if they are bringing any of their products with them on this trip? It doesn't seem like they'd have room for many.

From what FJers who've been to the conferences have said, they did a ton of sales from these conferences.

Maybe they will send parcels of books to the venues by freight, and then stand in the road at each place, flagging down random UPS vans, to ask if their shipment is in the back.

About the mystery chocolate... I think it's Mary's. There's a person in the background who has to be her based on the drawing table, pencil, eraser, and something that looks like a sketch. Poor thing, I hope Stevus doesn't lock her chocolate now in the same closet with her grooming kit. And I mean it :(

Before they had Uriah, they would stay either in hotels or often times a family from the hosting church would put them up and feed them. Even after Uriah entered the scene, it was still common for the hosting church to provide a meal for them the first night of the conference. I'm sure they still "suggest" that to the hosting churches as part of registration since their conferences are free. Hospitality is a big thing among the Christian movement, so I don't think they end up ever having to eat out much. Which is good, because they always seems to find people offensive or needing "witnessed to" in restaurants (remembering the time Steve witnessed to a waitperson and offered to pray for her, even though she didn't ask him to).

That was the first time I called him out on his a blog. Specifically pointing out that sharing her prayer requests on his blog was wrong.

Re: Anna's appearance

I agree. That thought has crossed my mind before. I think she has given up somewhat in the appearance department. She still has her figure and youth on her side but the hair, outfits, and general presentation don't exactly scream effort. Probably what happens when you exclusively interact with family and nursing home residents. It is not like she goes into an office or to a college course or even to a Sunday School class with other people in her generation. To me all three Maxwell daughters dress juvenile, but Sarah and Mary present a little better than Anna.

Aw. Happy 21st Birthday, Jesse. It's his 9th Birthday "on the road."

Perhaps by his 22nd birthday he will have hit the road. I can but hope.

"Jesse’s personality: logical, deep thinker, adventuresome, considerate, diligent, insightful into Scripture."

But does he drink his coffee black, Sarah, and what does he actually do all day, other than taking the initiative to clean up wood piles?

I was going to ask if they mentioned "takes initiative" under his list of traits!

To Jesse: :hb2:

Since your father is the real fun killer*, we'll have fun on your behalf!

* Sorry, Happy Atheist!

 Mamajunebutt!

I admit that Jesse's rear end is a little too, um, protuberant for my taste but it is so front and central in that photograph. I couldn't help mentioning its defrauding qualities to see whether Steve would edit out that picture too.

BTW, (not so) hot John has the same overly generous hindquarters. ;)

Actually I'm paying my trainer a lot of money to build me a rear end like that, among other things. With as good of shape as the maxwells are in I can almost guarantee you that butt is solid muscle, and is actually a sign of some serious muscle building. I'll take a bubble butt any day so long as it's so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it

So someone had candy before packing and loading the van, not after the work was done. :naughty:

Sarah had better not be in trouble for this. Steve seems unhinged enough to get pissed about it.

Not to worry. That bar served at least 7 people. After the work was done, I'm sure.

No! In my day, we called that profile "bubble butt."

I prefer the term "callipygian."

I know we aren't supposed to play the comparison game but I guess I'm going to do just that. I think my daughter is about Anna's age (my daughter is 21) and she definitely dresses in a more mature way than Anna. Anna dresses more like I see high school (maybe even middle school) students dress. In fact, I remember my daughter kind of searching for a new look at about the time she started her second year of college - something more mature and less "high school". If Steve would let his daughters experience a little more of the world, they might have a better idea of how to dress with more polish and age appropriate style. One does not have to be frumpy or child-like to be modest.

I think I've said this before but Anna's hair looks like it is very thin like mine. If I try to grow mine out, it just breaks and starts to look more and more damaged. Again, if Steve would let her have a style that was more suited to her hair type, she'd have a softer look. She would look really nice with a bouncy, layered look. She could still have some length - kind of like Melanie's used to be before she went to the shorter look she has now. Fundies consider a woman's hair to be her crowning glory, but I just don't get how it's a glorious thing if keeping it long just makes it look unkempt and neglected.

Actually, it looks like she doesnt have a lot of hair and layers would only thin her hair out more. I think she would look best with a chin-length bob. Blunt cuts can make hair appear thicker. Maybe I'd give her fringe in the front from cheekbones down frame her face. The only layers I would give her would be vanishing layers, an inch or less than the base length. That would add some movement and bounce at the ends. Or maybe an asymetrical bob, or a cute, sassy pixie....

*steps off of hairstylist soapbox* Sorry. I kove doing hair and want to style the world. :embarrassed:

Ok I have a theory that makes the hidden chocolate not as excited. It is possible that the way their blog is set up that they upload the pictures onto whatever hosts the blog and then they post the pictures onto the page. I'm not too up on my IT- but what I mean is that it is a two step process. I wonder if Sarah just forgot to click on that picture and it didn't get put on the actual blog page.

I used to work at a place that had a website where others (not me) would post to. If I recall correctly too put pictures up we had to load them twice like this. First upload them so they were actually there and then allow them to actual appear on the page.

Serious question, and it is not my intent to snark on a child. But does anyone else think there is something going on with Christina's eyes? I'm asking here because I was just browsing through their plethora of we're-so-humble pictures and Christina's eyes just look odd to me. Not in a Maxwell crazy-eyes kind of way. But....I don't know how to describe it...they look...flat? I wonder if she has some sort of condition that will go without care because Jesus. Does anyone else see this? Or do I need my eyes checked?

There is a new Maxwell post about their trip, with the three standard pictures (bags, Anna making food, loading the vehicle), but when I clicked on the pictures to view them larger, there was a 4th picture! It is of chocolate!!! Intrigue!!

Total food porn, and a gateway lust. Nike!

I've noticed that too--and in a couple of the grandkids.

I don't want to get FJ spanked for amateur diagnosis, but I've wondered if they have mild strabismus or ambylopia.

Like you, I'm not snarking kids, just hoping that if there is a condition that the Maxwells would seek professional treatment.

Ha! Pixie cut. You trying to give Steve a heart attack? Why not just dye in purple while you are at it? S&T may never recover from the shock.

Compared to the original flavor Maxwells, there is definitely something wrong with Nathan and Mel's children's eyes.

They still have a spark in them

(Otherwise, I haven't noticed anything wrong with them)

Christina's eyes are fine. Her eyes are very close together and very round, so it seems like amblyopia... My eyes were like that just smaller when i was Christina's age and a lot of people thought i had a lazy eye but nah, within a couple years i looked fine. She'll look fine. If you notice Drew's eyes are exactly like hers but blue and maybe a little apart.

I just saw the chocolate picture. Steve hasn't removed it yet. Or, I think more likely they just completely forgot about it and it means nothing. They've posted pics of chocolate/food/whatever before, it's not different from their normal playbook. Just a forgotten picture with no caption or independent link.

But, what I sincerely noticed the most is Anna. She doesn't look well. Maybe it's just a bad picture and/or a bad hair day, but she really doesn't look healthy. Same grin that's always there, same overall 'face'/expression, but to me, she just looks...off.

These people scare me.

To me, Anna and Sarah always look tired. Jesse is 21! He looks a lot older than that! Of course, the style of glasses and the slicked- down hair does not help, IMO.

Looks like!e Jesse is finally being allowed to grow a beard.

Anna does look tired to me, too. Could just be because they got up early, but anything is possible in that house.
