I saw the video clip on their site.

So Josh will stay in a college dormitory with a lucky roommate. He will have a daily walk with the Lord and spend a minimum of an hour a day courting Him. Attend a lot of church services. Doing some bible memorization, then some bible meditation. Scribble down some holy words on a note, give it to someone and be a blessing to them. He'll be fed, with food too. And he'll work, like he did reconstruction to wash away his molestation sin. This will bring him Closer To The Lord and the addiction will no longer be a plague. The transformation is "nothing short of a mircale."

Then he's cured. :liar:

I'm sure months will pass until we hear from Josh himself...but I already cannot handle it. I feel this program will evolve him from Smuggar to Super Smuggar. All he's gonna do is volunteer and pray and come out and say how hard it was, he's cured through Christ, etc. He's going to act even more superior to people he deems below him. The smug will be too much to handle!

How long until the Duggars post something/take up a collection for "love offerings" for Anna and M'kids? With smuggles out of the house Anna is (theoretically) all alone raising 4 littles all by her female loneship. In reality we all know that Jana and likely Jinger have moved into a bedroom while JD and the howlers redo the rest of the house... but on paper its just poor Anna.

This rehab is bullshit. He's only going to get away from the media (and the future bombshells). He will come out more pompous than before, if thats even possible.

Based on that video--Josh is not going to have a good time. Although, he knows how to put up the facade of a bible believing Christian very well.

I predict 2 things:

1. This program finally breaks him and he checks himself out and leaves it all behind. Hookers and blow here comes Josh.

2. He (pretends) to do very well in the program, finishing it much quicker than other people manage to and goes home triumphant--but nothing has changed.

There is a 3rd thing that could happen and that is that the program breaks him and he suffers serious emotional harm. I think it is either 1 or 2, though.

I get that they probably had a little nest egg set aside but there is still a light bill and a mortgage to pay. JB better be prepared to deal with it all. They're not going to allow Anna to get a real job while she's home alone, so what...get her certified as a real estate agent and let her do some of JB's office work and "pay" her? Or "manage" John David's little business?

While they're all praying for hubbie to get right, they need to be producing some damn

Let's hope that there's an ounce of actual help available in this place. But as many people have already said, it seems pretty heavy on the religious aspects instead of scientific/medical emphasis (for instance, the website advertises the % that are faithful in church after a year). Not that you can't have good faith-based rehab centers, but considering who sent him there... :?

Agreed! I think this will be the outcome of it all. Josh will be more popular than ever in these cirlces. Call me a cynic but I think in a few months from now he could be more able than ever to start a successfull politic career. He will write the "tell all" only to confirm his parent's believes. It will all be "rewritten" to be Anna's fault in a more or less indirect manner. And if she doesn't agree with this, it will be even more her fault. Women's lives and reputation ruined by men's mistakes. I love patriarchic cults like this.

Josh ruined Anna's live and the lives of the girls he molested. but he will be the one coming out as the hero in all of this whereas the girls and women will be out of the spotlight in notime. congrats joshua duggar. you are THE MAN!

This is not going to turn out well. Sexual addiction (if that is what they are calling it) is one of the most difficult behaviors to treat. Some in the medical field don't even think there is such a thing as an addiction to sex, but point to a kind of borderline personality disorder that causes some to act out in inappropriate and/or dangerous sexual behavior. If Josh does have borderline personality disorder, complicated by his sexually repressive upbringing, RU is not going to be able to treat him properly. He may even be a bigger mess by the time they get through with him.

I'll send my diagnosis to JB, with an accompanying bill. :wink-kitty:

I am still not convinced Smugs is a sex addict. I see him as a raging mysogenist brought up in a house where he was crowned prince and taught women were to submit to all men but especially him.

Other children growing up in ATI knew Gothard had a special type that he sought alone time with. All his mentors and guides were either predators or also mysogenists. If Jills stats are correct 2/3 of the families he was allowed to socialize with had molestations and rapes occur. His own family twisted his predatory actions into mild, inappropriate touching.

How could he turn out any other way?

This assumes that Josh can remain scandal free and Anna can be convicted to keep sweet indefinitely, neither of which is a given. Much like how Jimmy Swasgart was back on prostitutes' row less than three years after his first such scandal, Josh will probably be back trolling the Internet for affairs soon after leaving fake rehab. I am not a psychologist, nor do I play one on TV or the Internet, but rather than sex addiction, a more plausible scenario is a personality disorder. Josh knows how to fake fundie Jesus talk and will no doubt pass fake rehab with flying colors. Anna and the Duggars will have photos to show how much he's been re-saved, and the in a few months, Josh will be caught doing some other illicit thing. Wash, rinse, repeat.
