Apologies if this is already somewhere on here.

But can someone clarify what the different auto-avatars mean? Some are fairly obvious, others (like automatic smileys on inactive accounts) not so much.

Automatic Smileys are actually accounts that never bothered to get their own avatar.

The guy in the raincoat is for accounts that have been deactivated

And lurking around I see a lot of inactive users with their title in black with puppets...I assume users who were banned for being socks?

So the users with titles in black with giant smileys where the avatar used to be are deleted/banned accounts that never got an avatar?
