We could certainly hope so, but sadly I think not. More are just interested in the sensationalism and a fall from grace rather then digging deeper into the doctrine of fundementalist Christians.

Would be nice if some journalist did catch onto this and did an IBLP version of "Going Clear".

I keep hoping that one day that will happen. I think that if their crazy beliefs were made well known both Bateseses and the Duggars would fall from grace in the public eye. The Josh scandal probably won't do it, but learning what they really believe would.

I think this is the spark that will help bring the attention of mainstream Christians to how harmful the fundie world is- especially to women and children. It won't happen overnight but I think that people are starting to come out of the shadows. More and more stories will start trickling out.

Look at how many fundies have smartphones and internet access. I can't believe that none of them ever take a peek at the forbidden worldly blogs and news.

The Duggars are scheduled too. Michelle and Kelly are doing a mothers' session. JB and J'M is doing "courtship engagement and marriage-- not sure how that will work because it is at the same time as the mothers' session. Another day JB and J'M are doing "saved by grace" Maybe a roving reporter will register and attend....we can all hope!

And some would say that makes them all the more dangerous. Their wider appeal, and seeming normality are the very things that makes them more dangerous than the Duggars. People that felt, even before Josh's fall from grace became public, that the Duggars were too extreme, may possibly find the Bateseses brand of ATI/ILB/Christianity more palatable, as they put an attractive face to it.
