19 Kids & Counting Pulled From Line-Up/Show Future - Merge

Hell, I'd just settle for a cross-over show with the Little Family or whatever it's called. Seeing perfectionist professional Jen working with Preemie miracle Josie would be very interesting and entertaining. Granted the TTH would be a death-trap for the two little person toddlers.

The Klein are Catholic, Jen is an awesome doctor and Bill is so proud of having such a doctor wife. Adorable Zoie is wilful and they haven't tried to beat the spirit out of her. Will is full of sunshine and happiness (I swear I want to just hug and kiss him everytime he is on the screen). I think the Duggars would think that the Kleins were beneath them because of their worldly ways. The Kleins live the life the Duggars dislike so much. I also think the Dugggars would be of the mindset that God made them little people because of the sins of their parents.

I love it! Hopefully on Fear Factor, they would have to eat something really weird or disgusting like a cockroach.

A Duggar wouldn't need to be offered a cockroach to have a reaction. They just need to be offered a foreign dish that the most of America has accepted. Pad thai, bahn mi sandwich, paella, gefilte fish. (Actually, I hate gefilte fish. As far as I'm concerned, my family's recipe dies with my bubbe.)

I love the Kleins too.. and think they are much better role models for parents than the Duggars. I actually burst into tears in the episode where Jen had to leave India while they were adopting Zoey because she had cancer.

I'm still scratching my head as to why TLC hasn't cancelled the 19KAC show. It's not like Jim Boob can sue TLC, because I'm positive contracts were signed with morality clause etc. and I think everyone agrees what the Duggars did was immoral given the amount of victims and huge amount of coverup.

I mean, CRIPES even the Oprah show wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

Report of FCC complaint against 19 Kids and Counting show:

http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/19-kids-and-counting-fcc-complaint/

"According to the document, 19 Kids and Counting “[pollutes] the national television airwaves with a family that protected a pedophile son.â€

“Because they claim to be Christian,†the complaint continues, “it seems to allow them a pass. They espouse a dangerous worldview regarding women, that includes incest as acceptable behavior.â€"

I'm reading through the FCC documents that Radar provided and I'm really interested if what the person on page 6 said is true but I'm not tech savvy enough to research it.

Comic-con is this weekend!! I live down here. It is huge, every year - so many panels, so many celebrity interviews, and other television stars, signing posters/books, for a hefty profit! In fact, many older stars make a living by way of appearances at the comic-conventions, year-round - like Butch Patrick/Eddie Munster, ie.

I cannot help but ponder... how the Duggars would do at such an event. Granted, they wouldnt answer panel-questions, but they'd take photos and sign photos/books!! Maybe in time, if/when they lack opportunities... ? Or maybe they would simply fall victim to the "type" we draw down here at Comic-con ::evil laugh:: . They can tough it out - Baby Jesus will give them the strength and tolerance, right? Ill be waiting! :geek:

No no no. Make Michelle use an all-gender bathroom. Make Jim Bob do something blindfolded and in ear protection, with a female (ideally a daughter) leading him, so he is completely out of control -- and has to give the control of the situation to a young female. Make Josh be best man at a gay wedding. Make Jill and Jessa read Evolution for Dummies.

All stuff they'd be terrified of.

Sorry to double-post, but yes, googling his name, William Blankenship, brings up numerous articles. In 2011 he appears to have been arrested on child porn charges. A statement was released explaining that he's an outside contractor for video editing, and does not have contact with the talent. (Talent is their word, not mine.)

Huh. Shout out to person 6 for doing their research

My thought is that the show is over. Why? Because in the past, TLC and the Duggars have withheld big info like pregnancies, waiting until the season opener. In fact, during the season (maybe series?) finale, the previews for next season showed them alluding to Derrick and Jill leaving on a mission trip. If they were going to have another season, they would want the Duggars to wait and play up the surprise/drama, not have them give away their big spoiler on Instagram and YouTube. Just a thought...

Having read the FCC report as well...

TLC really protect themselves legally by contracting-out their work to 1099's/independent contractors. The editor in question is def. not violating any laws, as far as I can see (But who knows... ). Regardless, the irony, nay, concern, is legit - a convicted sexual offender editing footage of children - watching and manipulating hours upon hours of footage, most likely in the privacy of his own home. This only further justifies the TLC parody-acronym, 'Touching Little Children'!!

On another note. Ha! ...To think, 'Amateur Disc-Jockey' Jon (of Jon 'n Kate +8) actually gives enough of a shit to research the background of a contractor who edit his children's' footage! Who knew!? Good for him.

Are you just giddy about going to Comic Con or what? :)

The Duggars no more belong at Comic Con than my Maltese does. I mean, there's just NO snark- worthiness to this at all.

I personally know a few people who have gone to SDCC for the past 2 years or so because of a licensed product from an 80's cartoon which they rabidly collect and is a CC exclusive product. It's a part of the Jem and the Holograms merchandising and movie tie in  .... About as tame ( and dumb, IMO) as it gets, but most go right to that section, buy a few thousand dollars worth of Jem merch. and leave. Some have posted photos of the groupies and a few have told what goes on after dark. Nothing to be proud of doing or being, from my vantage point as a mature and married lady, and totally nothing to do with a fundamental evangelical mega- family with many minor children. IMO. The minor children being the people who don't need to see people dressed up in furry animal costumes having sex at night. IMO.

HAha!...So its a bit of a stretch! :D But no more of a stretch than the 'Wipeout' suggestion!? I dont know, would I rather see...

:popcorn2:

...JimBoob Duggar hit in the face by a "sucker-punch" and subsequently thrown into a mud-pit, followed closely by Mullet-Michelle, covered in soapy-foam - running through the course in her Wholesome Wear - only to bounce face-first onto the "Big-Balls"...

-OR-

...The Duggar clan, entrapped at Comic-con, eyes constantly averted towards the heavens instead of the heathens so as to not be defrauded whilst they desperately earn their keep before a room full of weirdo-fans, answering their questions as part of a TLC Panel. Id like to see their leghumpers go up against comic-con/cosplay fans - who is more hardcore - oh the humanity!! :angry-boxing:

Just read this interesting post that I've not seen here on FreeJinger, so this one is an eye opener!

"TLC's ratings have gone up, not down, since taking 19 Kids And Counting off the air. That means TLC is in no rush to put the show back on the air. Especially when so many blue-chip advertisers pulled.

According to Nielsen, the network received 269 million viewers the week of May 24, which included both the 19 Kids finale and the previously mentioned marathon. But the following week, when 19 Kids was off the air, TLC’s ratings reportedly jumped up to 484 million viewers."

Here is the link..

Looks bad for the Duggars and 19 KAC to return to TLC.

Well it definitely belongs in this thread as part of the discussion about the TLC decision.

And ratings are easy to get because they are what advertising agencies use to purchase commercial time for their clients. Whether Variety or Hollywood whatever got it, it's standard data that goes around to ad agencies from a third party ratings measuring company like Nielsen. So it's no big secret, but definitely will be a huge factor for TLC when they make their final decision about the show.

I don't think Radar Online is a reputable source. As the poster in the other thread pointed out, TLC's ratings were down in the daily ratings after the scandal broke.

I usually look at tvbythenumbers for daily/weekly ratings.

Well, if they DO put them back on the air, I really hope they just don't even show all the footage that they DID shoot. I hate when the episodes are like a year behind real life.

All I can imagine is that Michelle would do that baby talk while bending down in that patronizing way to talk to Bill.

I wouldn't mind seeing the "new" footage. The stuff they were already airing (wedding, birth) was pretty far behind RL. One of the reasons I watch stuff like 19KAC is to see the spin that they put on everything.

My uncle just died from COVID. He wasn’t that much older than I am, so I kind of grew up with him. Just ten days ago my mom had been pleading with him to get vaccinated, but he wanted to wait to make sure the shots were really safe. I’m kind of devastated.

I just found out my little bonus kid is in a treatment center on a suicide watch tonight. He and I share a hobby and a couple weeks back he opened up to me that he's severely depressed and was wanting to hurt himself. I let his parents know and thankfully he had also been talking to them. I'm just heartbroken because him being in this center means that his parents had to call 911 and have him admitted and I know that was so hard for them to do. He's a young kid and has his whole life ahead of him but just wants to end it all and I don't know how to help him.

Middle aged woman with mommy issues...but missing her today.
She got so much wrong with me, but she had the best intentions and tried so hard.
She got so much right, too.  I forget that sometimes.  Sometimes I remember and dismiss it out of spite.
“They did the best they could with the tools they had.”  I forgot where I first heard that but I’ve carried it with me like a mantra since my parents passed.   They truly did.  Whatever else was missing, whatever I needed that they couldn’t give, the love was always there.

      Always.
      That’s something.
My confidence in my own abilities.  Faith in my own power.  My own strength.  They gave me that, too.
      That’s also something.
They’re why I’m messed up, but they’re also why I’m okay.

      Shit’s complicated.
She died before I figured out how smart she really was.  Sad thing is I don’t think ever figured that out for herself.
Ignore me - just crying in my car waiting to pick up my son.
