Hmm, maybe it's a regional thing. I have lived in the northeast all of my life and have never heard of it as a name. But I think Sarah Palin also has a Trigg and a Track? *shrug* Guess they're into TR names.

That cousin is from Florida, so uhh, as far away from Alaska as you can get :P

My ex-husband's brother has a son named Tripp, his wife chose it and she's from Nevada... maybe a family name? In this case former SIL's mother's maiden name was Tripp.

At one time the mere sight of Palin would cause me to gnash my teeth and steam to come out of my ears. That was back when she was posing as someone who really wanted to govern people but ever since she revealed herself as a woman who just wants to get money for existing-- I'm perfectly happy for her to exist. She grifts just like Jill Rodriguez only on a higher plane and the people who give money to Sarah are fools, but more importantly to ME they are people with political ideas 180 degrees from my own. So I don't care anymore. If she wants to charge folks $50,000 and first class airline tickets to hear her spew nonsense I say that's fine with me! And if you are a gun-lovin, gay hatin, racist tea bagger who wants to send your social security check to Ms Palin then I'll be happy because that's less money for you to give to an honest to God Conservative candidate who will actually run for office.

Cowboy names!

prorodeo.com/prorodeo/standings/all-american-prorodeo-series

Just on that list the names include Tolman, Kash, Digger, Winn, Yance, Colt, Hunter, Blade, Keegan...

Among the kids of acquaintances, i know of a Cactus, Kyler, Tackett, and Konnor. My hubby wanted to name our son Tucker but I shut that down.

It's a weird subset of culture, that snowboarding/hunting/outdoors culture like what Sarah and Todd Palin are part of, it's nationwide. I wish i didn't know but we can't all be British.

Tripp sounds like a name that would be in wild-west novel, to me at least. Like "Sheriff Tripp McCoy is gonna find them horse thieves and hang em"...

Trigg reminds me of 12th grade math. Who wants to be reminded of math class?

My kid has an acquaintance named Blaze. He'd probably fit in well with friends named Colt and Blade and Kash.

I recall hearing that Trig was named after his condition- Trisomy G (Tri G). I don't remember where I heard. I did a quick Google search and I can't verify that a Palin actually said that was what he was named after.

Palin said he was named after a Nordic ancestor and that Trig meant "strength". I take that with a huge grain of salt as Palin is a coldhearted lying c***.

Malia Litman's blog has the scoop about Sarah Palin wearing Bristol's engagement ring. Well, I guess Sarah should wear it considering she paid for it.

http://malialitman.com/2015/05/20/sarah ... sick-sick/

And here is a photograph. Yep, looks like the ring to me.

I hate Sarah Palin; she is a lying, cold-hearted, bigoted, uneducated, trashy, lazy, vindictive, narcissistic and petty shrew who has never cared about anyone or anything other than herself. She is a failure at everything, including being a mother. Not a single one of her grown children is an educated, contributing member of society. Piper is an ill-behaved brat. And I seriously doubt Trigg is getting all the therapies and education he needs and deserves as a child with Down's Syndrome.

And Bristol is no innocent victim; she is just as bad as her mother. I feel not one whit of compassion towards her and her busted engagement.

As for Dakota? Well, he just screams "low-life dirtbag" to me, but I'm glad he's escaping the horrible Palin klan-yes, my spelling is intentional.

I do think it's odd that none of the Palin kids have attended college. Every other kid of a prez or VP candidate not only started but also finished college, like Karenna Gore's law degree and Chelsea Clinton's PhD. There's nothing wrong with being a hairdresser like Willow, but if Track and Bristol got a college degree, maybe the family would have a reliable source of income, and not have to rely on public speaking gigs and the occasional reality show.

yes, and how sad is that? They certainly have the money now to send kids to college. The kids saw that mom quit her elected position and the money kept pouring in, so perhaps they have no motivation. It also has to be at least partly that Todd (Todd took "some" college courses) and Sarah never placed an emphasis on the importance of education and continuing on to and completing college. AND there are 3 small colleges within 50 miles of Wasilla.

I always thought Tripp was a nickname for a guy who is "the third" -- as in "triple." Senior, Junior, and Tripp.

Speaking in a very short term view, the Palin offspring attending college is bad for business. Sarah's fans love it when she rails against the "elites" and enjoy the pretense that all of the adults except Sarah make their living through hard physical labor, low paid office work, or cosmetology. The reality of the bulk of their income coming from Sarah's appearances, TV shows, and skimming from the SarahPAC proceeds is swept under the rug. Nope, a Palin kid going to college means "elitist" to her fans, and Grandma's not giving up her Social Security check for that.

Edited to add Willow' s work.

If she did name Trig from Trygg, which comes from tryggr which means trusty, true or safe, that's one thing. She wrote saying it meant true and brave victory, which is only partially correct. Plus the obvious mispelling.

Another form of the name is Trygve and that person was a bloodthirsty viking. There have been a bunch of Norwegians name this.

If she is using it because it resembles Tri-G, she's just that much more of an asshole.

Piper just graduated from middle school. Sadly that will probably be as far as she goes.

Yes, that's how I know it to be as well, or as a first name to honor the mother's maiden name.

The majority of Palin's supporters view college as indoctrination.

And of course, everyone ignores that Palin herself went to college, though perhaps it looks better because her degree was in Communications and she completed it through several institutions, not the Ivy League like Obama or either Clinton.
