I don't live in the US, maybe it isn't a thing there. Here, they're very particular about that because of hair/scalp infections and cleaning giant hair balls out of the pool isn't fun.

But maybe it's also because most of the pools I've used are in private clubs (we don't really have many public pools) and they're stricter about rules?

I'm a little particular about this kind of stuff, though so it might seem like I'm over reacting haha

Why not just wear a rash guard like a normal person? Aren't they reinventing the wheel? I'm a light-skinned girl living in the tropics, and my two-piece swimsuit covers me almost elbow-to-knee. Sure, it's form-fitting and actually looks cute, but there's less risk of nip slips or thigh flashes than with loose flutters of billowy fabric. Plus, you can actually swim in it at normal speed. Some of my neighbours wear actual burkinis, and they're more practical than these suits!

Here, in France, caps are mandatory in public pools, even for people with short hair. In the other hand, they are not required in most private pools. In public pools you can only wear certain kind of swimwear, for instance board shorts are not allowed and burkinis style swimsuit are also forbidden !

Few pools in the US require caps. The main problem is hair collection, and pools have adequate filters that are cleared regularly.

The only pool I've EVER had to wear a cap in was at girl scout camp, and I've been in public pools in at least 4 or 5 different states. I can't say I've ever seem more people wearing a cap at a public pool than I could count on one hand, either.

Edit: Not that I'm defending Candy, I'm just confused by the shock and horror at not wearing a swim cap. :?

I have quite long hair and don't wear a cap and have never seen a sign asking for one, BUT I always wind it up into a bun just because it's neater. Then again, I don't often swim in public-public pools (like a city pool) but in private-public pools like at the gym, the summer resort we go to on vacation, etc. Maybe there's a difference?

Yeah I don't get why she didn't tie it up either? That wouldn't make swimming easier for sure..

Ok, what the hell is going on in your avatar??? Quite defrauding.

 modest is not hottest.

Is that video supposed to make be want a bathing suit from that place? Because it doesn't. She can't model to save her life.

I thought both swimsuits would make cute outfits for my nieces (ages 5 and 9). As swimsuits? I agree with a rash guard being much more practical. It looks like she's swimming in regular clothes. It must go back to fundies' "Look! Look at me! Look at how modest I am!" Brand of false modesty.

Yeah. I wouldn't bother with a cap, but my hair is getting quite long so I'd at least put it in a ponytail! Long hair is kind of gross when it's wet. Especially with chlorine-y pool water.

I found this rather defrauding. No sleeves? Visible ankles? *clutches pearls* What is this world coming to? Candy is a terrible swimmer, too.

And porno music. And poor unsuspecting obese men stretching who probably just wants to swim and not be recorded.

I swim at the Y. I would be pissed off if somebody was standing taking videos. I would give them something to record! It would not be Fundie appropriate.

Not only that, all the eye-batting in the hot tub at the end! For shame, Candy, for shame! I feel so... so defrauded...

WTF WTF WTF was that in the hot tub at the end? Was that trying to be sexy? Modest? NEED BRAIN BLEACH.

Candy has 3 videos of herself modelling swimsuits on her YouTube channel. How modest she is.

I used to do the same thing. I 86ed my hair and gym membership though, but though that the same solution was very practical.

Holy balls.

I was sitting here having my afternoon cup of decaf, clicked the link and proceeded to almost spit out my coffee and laughed rather profusely. Mean to say, but I did it. I also laughed when I came across your comment, my thoughts exactly, come hither doesn't come naturally for Candy. And the smiling at the end? Oh my. Ditto to whomever mentioned the porno music.

I don't feel fully comfortable in a normal one piece, my suit of choice (ain't no way in hell, I'm doing a bikini!) but that's my own body issue. But, I'm surprised her and her daughter actually swam in a public pool with another of the opposite sex.

I watched the video on silent and i am shaking from trying not to laugh. I don't know who Candy is, nor do I care, because I vaguely recognize the name and I think I just didn't get sucked in. I'll look it up myself later. The modeling was hilarious. The swimming was atrocious. AND OMG THE HOT TUB WTF.

On swim caps: I always wear a swim cap and I encourage everyone with hair who swims in a public or gym pool to do so. As in, if I'm with a friend I bring an extra unused cap and offer it to said person. Because there are few things that are worse than doing laps, getting into your groove, and having to stop because there are globs of hair floating around. I used to do a group swim and I came up at the end and there was hair on my face! Everyone laughed and I was really grossed out and I haven't been back since. The pool filters are NOT always adequate. There are reasons that all pools say it is a requirement to take a shower first.

I do not understand these suits with all the skirts and extra embellishments. If she wants a knee length sleeveless one piece, why not just swim in a tri suit? Or you know, just swim in a normal one piece swim suit if you don't want your stomach to show.

And everytime I see people swimming like that I cringe a little bit. Put your face in the water!

I have quite long hair too and just brush it well and tie it into a tight braid to swim laps at the community pool. My hair doesn't really fit under a swim cap. Am I grossing people out at the pool and not realizing it? Now I'm a bit paranoid... :?

I can't really recall ever seeing any woman who wasn't swimming laps actually wearing one. My pool has a lap swim area and then a shallower area for little kids. The moms I see in the shallower area always just have their hair down.

At the public pools in our area most people just tie their longer hair or braid it. The only people I've seen with swim caps on are all older ladies in the lap lanes.

Well, that was a few minutes of my life I won't get back. She doesn't do coy very well. Someone should tell her!

The music, the faces, the poses... This is giving me really bad mental images of what goes on in that house at night... Anyone have some brain bleach?

As you can tell from my post count, I'm pretty new here so I have no idea who this Candy lady is (though I must say I am not somewhat intrigued...)... But I was getting flashes of Toddlers and Tiaras as she was getting into the hot tub. Wow. She's... Wow.

Point one, that girl can't swim, and she isn't pretty enough to be swishing around everywhere.

I didn't think that first suit was all that modest. It wasn't all that different from a regular tankini, just a bit longer is all. I doubt a Duggar would wear such and arm-and-chest-revealing suit. Those tight leggings probably aren't all that modest by fundie standards either.

I wonder how many wetlook fetishists would love that second suit with the sleeves and leggings. I'm sure that as ugly as modest swimwear is, there are probably a few good modest swimwear fetishists out there who think those suits are sexy as hell and wank off to videos like this.
