Mrs. Pecan Thief gives up sleep for her man!

God heard our prayers and told Davey to update the blog.

They helped Derrick Waller work on a major house renovation. Hung out at North Woods. Bridal shower for Derrick and Jennifer Wilkes. Father's Day baseball game and Paul being cute.

From the blog post: "David’s Great Grandmother lived in the upper peninsula of Michigan for many years. Every year when he went up there to visit her, she would have some hot cookies or some fresh pasties to pull out of the oven. For memories sake, since we were up in the UP we stopped at a cafe known for their pasties. Still not nearly as good as great Grandma’s pasties."

Mentioned no less than three times! :music-rockon::laughing-rolling:

Many of you are probably bored with all of the details of the whole project, but it was one of those memory building times.

If you know it's boring to outsiders, why blog about it? Why not just keep those precious memories to yourself?

ETA: And this bit makes no sense:

With Priscilla working with the children, David found it easier to paddle with a kayak paddle.

What's going on in the bow should have very little effect on your ability to steer a canoe in a straight line. Sure, it helps to have someone in the front to draw or crossbow draw when you need to turn, but IME when it comes to going in a straight line there's very little difference between sterning with someone paddling in the bow, sterning with the bowperson lilydipping, and soloing from the middle of the canoe. J-stroke when the boat's turning away from you, plain stroke when it's not.

Wow, the way this post was written just makes it all the more boring. I've read posts from bloggers that contained less interesting material, yet the way they wrote them made them feel fun and engaging.

I think the difference is that in the other posts, the bloggers clearly communicated their passion and interest in what happened. How much THEY enjoyed what went on. So even if the material was boring, it was enjoyable to read because it can be fun to hear about an enjoyable weekend that someone had.

This post reads like the author themselves was completely bored with the weekend. It felt totally apathetic. "Yeah, you're probably bored with this...I know I am." Because see, I really LIKE reading about house renos, especially gut jobs. But from this, I was totally getting second-degree boredom. It felt like they didn't really care, but felt they needed to put up a father's day post so here it is.

Waller Update: Davia gives us the middle finger. I feel you, girl.

Which begs the question... they must know what that means, right?

I know she's a baby and it's completely harmless, but it makes me laugh that they'd post that picture.

The picture that makes me laugh is the one on the upper right. The look on that baby's face says it all!

You should leave them a comment asking for more house reno pics.

I don't understand why the Waller parents were agitating for David to get married, even after he had said he wasn't sure marriage was what he wanted "in that season of life", and yet his older brother Derrick, has only just announced his engagement.

Why did they wait until Derrick was ready, but gave the younger David a good shove toward marriage years before he may have been ready, if he was ever going to be.

I know David's reluctance to wed has been discussed before, but I was surprised to learn his older brother was still unmarried.

In regard to Derrick's wedding, which I believe is this Saturday, do we know if he has a wedding website? Apologies if this has been mentioned here or elsewhere; I haven't seen that yet!

You are a nasty piece of work. I am only unwelcoming to those who intentionally seek to insult or degrade others, which seems to be your MO. What gives me the right to stand up for her is that this is a self-moderating community for the most part, and some people deserve support when attacked, which is exactly what you tend to do rather than communicate. People who are being attacked and told to go away deserve some backup, and I am more than happy to provide it. There is no competition about who has been around the longest, but somehow you think you have the authority to define a community to which you are new, which is quite odd. No one, no matter the tenure, has a right to that around here.

Fundiefarmer has every right to discuss her marriage and you have the right to disagree. However, there is a line between discussing and telling someone to go away- a very thick line.

Your posts leave a bad taste in many mouths.

Jeez, I'm nasty and I leave a nasty taste in many mouths? Is this my cue to feel bad because I'm "new" and there is a super secret anti-eri PM support group? I don't recall telling FF to leave.

Foe indeed.

I'm sorry for being very late to the party, but something possessed me and I just watched the entire wedding youtube. Brain = :pink-shock: wtf did I just watch?! (and why were JB&M up front for the prayer, closer than Priscilla's own parents?!)

It almost scares me to admit this, but if I were a fundie girl this may have been my dream wedding :embarrassed: The preaching by Gothard, all the music...I imagine it was everything she wanted.

But since I'm not a fundie girl... *twitch*

I don't think it's your cue to feel bad because you're new, but it might be your cue to rethink your communication style because you sometimes come off as an uppity and I've noticed that some of your posts seem to be said from the top of Mount Stupid.

I think you have some thoughtful, insightful posts as well, but the grating nature of some of your other posts does take away from that. I get the feeling that you are quite young and maybe haven't learned to understand nuance yet.

Edited because the first iteration was more dick-ish than intended

The Waller parents sure know how to pick winners for their daughters to marry, and the sad thing is in fundie world David and Josh really are winners. I wish I could help Priscilla escape from her husband who clearly doesn't want her around, but it will never happen. I fear there is some bad stuff going on behind closed doors, she seems so nervous when he is around.

Do you mean the Keller parents? Anna and Pris' family? Don't forget they also lay claim to Zambia's Least Effective Missionary: John Schrader. Competition is fierce in that family for Worst Husband.

As for the Wallers, besides David, the marriages seem to be pretty happy and well matched.

IIRC and I may be completely wrong, didn't Derrick have the twin brother who died overseas on the mission trip? Maybe they cut him some slack?

No, that's Adam. He married Valerie Mueller in 2012.

Yes, sorry I meant the Keller parents. Honestly, I don't think you could pay me a million dollars to be married to Josh Duggar, David Waller, or John Schrader.

Wow, that was uncomfortable to watch. Serious question, does their baby ever blink? It was bothering me!

I read somewhere that babies blink far less than adults. No idea why though.

All right somewhere farther back in the thread, someone said they wouldn't mind seeing ol Davey's Bible on their nightstand and I'm still laughing about it... The visual! Ok back to your snarking....

Wrackspurts aren't as attracted to babies, of course.

Paul and Davia are really cute. The way David wrote about the house remodeling gave gay porn vibes, all of those manly men toiling and getting sweaty.

Yes, it's true. I remember once counting the times my son would blink as a baby because it was so strange to me.
