Name of baby Dilly

Duggor

Recommended Posts

I bet that Michelle doesn't like Julie/Julia because she knew someone in high school named that who was a huge bitch. That's why I've vetoed so many of my husband's choices!

It's really funny to talk about this with my Fiance. We aren't (hopefully) going to be parents for another year or two, but we have discussed baby names. We settled on Anna Elizabeth for a girl (family history - long story), but boy names are another story. Every time I mention a name its either, "No," "I don't like it," or "I knew someone with that name once. I didn't like them. So no."

At this rate, I have my fingers crossed we only have girls. Lol!

Michael was named after his grandfather, not after Michelle.

Edited to add: Janessa is a real name.

Curse you and your superior memory. I forgot about that. Yet again. He was named after both his grandfathers, which I believe you pointed out a few pages back. Yup yup.

As to baby Dilly I hope they glorify themselves in Puritan goodness and name him something ridiculous like "Courage Manhood."

Don't the Campbells have a Courage?

Lol Puritan names are the best. I have some Puritan ancestors with names like Freelove, Deliverence, Preserved (best part was his last name was Fish), Experience, Submit, and Silence.

JB has been wanting Julie for the longest time. I never understood why they didn't have a girl named Julie. I agree that the sister moms did not veto the name. That sounds absolutely ridiculous, mainly bc they all were okay with Judah at one point. Julie is a nice simple name. Much nicer than Jinger. (Ginger isn't a bad name, but Jinger?? Seriously??)

I have to agree that J'chelle has to be the reason they haven't had a Julie yet. And I think after everything, it's really unfair that she isn't allowing him to use the name. Why does she even care? It's not like she's even involved in her kids anyway.

I also agree on the Jubilee being a throw away name. They only picked that name after the actual miscarriage since they couldn't tell via ultrasound that she was a girl. I'm almost surprised they didn't use Julie then.

Some Vision Forum or ATI "royal" has a daughter named Jubilee.

I think that Baby Dilly will come later in the month - maybe somewhere around the 25th? Not sure why, just a feeling I have.

I do see Derick and Jill choosing a somewhat traditional first name for their son. Its possible that they'll choose something Biblical as well - like Benjamin, Noah, or Peter. I don't see either of them choosing anything really out there or something with an odd spelling. And I think they'll pair it with a family name - such as Benjamin Richard Dillard or something along those lines.

Here's hoping for a safe delivery, a healthy baby, and happy parents!

(Also, did the past nine months fly by for anyone else? So much has been going on for me that I feel like I blinked and she's ready to have the baby!)

No- it has been a VERY, VERY LONG nine months. I was starting to wonder if she was having a never ending pregnancy a la DeDe.

I was thinking

Aaron Richard and them doing A B C D blah blah theme. Jill is the kind of person I can see doing that.

Or David Richard and keeping the D theme.

Yes, like the one Maxwell son with Abby, Bethany, Christina and Andrew......

I do think it will be a fairly trendy name--maybe Jude? But I don't think they will necessarily do a theme.

I never really thought "Caleb" was more than just "we thought maybe Caleb...." but then she miscarried and they liked Jana and John and it just went from there.

How about using whatever the Nepali [Nepalese?] name for Faith/Salvation/etc might be? Let's hear Jim-Bob try to pronounce it!

Courage sounds like a perfectly suitable name for a German Shepherd, a Labrador Retriever, or a Golden Retriever. Courage Manhood sounds like the name for a gay porn action hero.

I am thinking Derick would want his son to be Pistol Pete too but that would be impossible for the kid to go to college if he is home schooled the Duggar way.

They could name him Peter.

If somehow he went to college and became Pistol Pete he would need an accountability partner with him to yell Nike every time a cheerleader showed a knee. :naughty:

Are they going to pick a letter and stick with it, too? I can imagine them sticking with the letter D. David, Daniel, Dylan, Dominic, Douglas, Dean, Dennis, Drew, Davis, Dalton, Darren, Dwayne, Dwight, Darrel, Davon, Danton, Daegan, DARWIN  , Dayton, Delano, Delroy, DAMIEN  , DaShawn, DaMarcus, DeLarion...

I really hope Derick can persuade Jill to at least buy a decent curriculum for the kids. Or maybe enroll them in a distance learning private school (which is just a private school version of charter/cyber school). I doubt he can get her to enroll them in private out of the home school but there's always a slight slight chance. He went to college - a real college - so presumably he understands the value of a good education.

That's what happened when I was born, everyone was 15+ years older so every name was vetoed twice. They joke that the reason my first initial is so late in the alphabet is because they had ran out of names.

Jill has said she does not want to do a letter theme, so that's out. But I do hope she does a sort of theme. Like crunchy biblical names first names and family middle names.

I'm honestly okay with the "J" theme, even if it is a bit repetitive. The Bates have no apparent theme and it seems like the names are a little all over the place. Of course maybe it means you have too many children when you've started to run out of names/use the same names..

I just hope it isn't too crunchy. Give the Duggar trend for bad spelling, made up names, and accidental pairings... we could have something nice and normal or something awful.

I mean, I wouldn't put it past them to name that child "Jesus Jones Duggar Dillard the Atoned" since he's from God and all.

Let's name it Ned, since he was all diddly-doodly while he was still a mandala-shaped cell lump and two lines of a pee stick.

Wow... Duggar-Dillard is maybe the worst hyphenated named I've ever seen! Dillard isn't bad on it's own, but with Duggar preceding it, I can't help but read the word "dullard" in it.

Names are such a tricky thing. George is Cathy's middle name. I could see them using Richard and George for their kids. I don't think George has been used yet so it would be a nice change. That family will run out of classic boy names soon enough.

And I love Puritan names, I would totally use them.

My guess is Bartholomew(a son that suspends the waters is the meaning) Richard Dillard. Bart for short..... and my other guess Emmanuel (God with us is the meaning) Richard Dillard.

He will be born on March 13th weighing in at 9lbs and 22 inches after a long labor.

That sounds amazing for a firstborn. Any Spanish king can eat their hearts out.
