Would Fundies Allow Abortion in THIS Case?

Yes, but also considered that a pregnancy doesn't begin until the egg is implanted into the uterus, yet the anti-abortion movement thinks that "life begins at conception." The public in general is woefully illiterate about the science of pregnancy and that ignorance is being enshrined into law.

But defining when a separate, individual, human life begins is a matter of interpretation. Really there is no objective reason to say that implantation is more accurate than conception. And the moment "life" begins doesn't even have to be related to the current clinical definition of when pregnancy is determined. Just look at weeks gestation -- it's counted from 2 weeks prior to when the woman even conceives.

In any case calling this a pregnancy, or thinking any group would object to the removal is just ridiculous. Even the most hard core fundamentalist anti- abortion fanatics wouldn't insist that a woman carry around a dead fetus forever.and dead is the crucial term here.

Simple answer - it isn't an abortion. Teratomas fail to progress. Otherwise, the surviving fetus wouldn't be surviving.

This a thousand times. This is a case of fetus in fetu or fetiform teratoma, not a baby. Removing them would be akin to removing a benign tumor, not an abortion.
