While I vehemently disagree with her stand on abortion, I'm glad that she has some conviction about something... I just wish she wasn't so myopic -- seeing every other issue through the lens of her feelings about abortion. It's becoming a very tired shtick, Anna.

edited.... because I wanted to. :)

Wow. Dat hashtag.

#BlackLivesMatter is a response to the fact that the lives of Black and other individuals are systematically treated with LESS importance than the lives of their White counterparts. It is about systematic racism in America and how this racism permeates public institutions such that it seems that Black and minority individuals are given less societal value than White individuals (the implication being it is less impactful if they die, so you don't need to take as many precautions to work with them). It's about how non-White people are treated by a White dominated system.

It's not about abortion, and you shouldn't co-opt it.

Also, Black History Month is about recognizing the contributions that Blacks have made to (American) History. It is about celebrating the past, not guilting people over the choices they make.

And, as a White woman, Ms. Anna Duggar needs to be VERY CAREFUL here. Right now, it comes off as offensive, as if she is telling Black women what to do or judging their decisions in particular. This tweet just feels like it was done by an ignorant housewife in the Jim Crow South trying to "help" a people she feels might be beneath her. I'm sure that's not what she meant, but that's how it reads.

Anna Duggar IS ignorant - look how she was raised and what she has married in to. She was probably trying to be caring but has just made a dumbass statement instead.

Ugh, another completely disrespectful co-opt of something and likening it to abortion.

Everything, I swear to freakin God, every single little thing with these people is sex and babies and abortion. Do they ever think of other things???!!!

These people = Duggars.

Do they ever think about anything else?

These people do not think...they leave that to Gothard.

I'm really new here, I think this is like only my third post....but that tweet made me go :pink-shock:

I understand she is ignorant, but she's not stupid and, I assume, can read so she doesn't get a free pass from me on this one. Nope, not even a little bit!

Anna's an idiot, I'm sorry. Everything is about abortion with her. Her entire IG account is devoted to it.

And I hate when people tag #BlackLivesMatter with #AllLivesMatter yes, they do, but we're talking about the black ones right now.

They speak in slogans, the Duggars. She heard it, thought it sounded good, and tweeted it. She is, as others have said, an idiot. A bigoted, stupid idiot. Shame.

It's bizarre how they can insert abortion into any random issue or current event.

"Lance Armstrong used his girlfriend as a patsy for hit and runs... but where is the outcry against women shirking responsibility by having abortions?"

"Brian Williams apologizes and recants his statement... too bad we can't recant abortions."

"Sports Illustrated to feature its first plus size model! Let us remember all of the aborted baby girls who will never be plus size swimsuit models... and the aborted baby boys who will never be able to enjoy defrauding print media."

I’m trying really hard to understand this… Black History and Abortion are two entirely different matters. Please explain to me how they tie together.

I normally like Anna a lot. I think she is a sweet person and a good wife and mother. I understand she feels strongly against abortion and kept hoping she would get to the point where she was rabidly anti abortion for HER but accept that other people have a right to make their own choices, as well. And then this. She can't even freaking talk about black history month without THIS? It honestly disappoints me more than anything. I really had hope for her.

On Jill's instagram at the moment she retweeted a post from Cathy Dillard. "If abortion had been legal when I was born, I wouldn't be here - neither would Derick, Dan or baby Dilly!"

Maybe this is why Cathy is into religion?

The Duggars need abortion like Lisa Pennington needs essential oils- without it, they'd have absolutely nothing to say.

I guess she was sick of people calling her racist for only having pictures of the white babies she wants to save. Her tweet makes me want to scream. Two awful instances of her pretending to know what people go through.

So, apparently Cathy's mom did not want to give birth to her? So that must be a lovely way to be raised, knowing that you were not wanted but your mother was forced to bear you because she had no legal or safe means to terminate.

So I guess these nut jobs, want to have this experience available to for more children. They want more children born who will sooner, rather than later, figure out that they really weren't wanted. And of course, other options or sources of support for these kids will be scarce, because the same idiots who push this agenda are remarkably ungenerous with any other legislation or money that would actually go a very long way to helping children of poverty, abuse, neglect etc.

Google "abortion and the black community"()

Anti-choice activist claim that abortion is the #1 cause of "death" for African-Americans. Whenever people are outraged by the death of a black person, anti-choice activist say: "If you really cared about black lives you'd help make abortion illegal" .

Apparently Cathy was adopted. When she looked up her birth mother, as an adult, received a rather chilly reception. Which I understand. I think birth mothers should be required to leave important medical information available to the child but be protected from ever having their identity revealed if they do choose.

Maybe Anna can save and adopt all those black babies that are abused or live in poverty. Her fundie education really shows.

I could see TLC penning a story of Smug and Anna going to Africa "to look at adoption" which actually going on a holiday safari, staying in a hotel; much rather like the "mission trips" that they do.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

You know what I hate most about subtle racism? The gaslighting. Stop cosplaying as a nice person and say it with your chest.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
