It's so strange. In pretty much every picture Ben looks stoned. I have seen other people mention it and thought there is no way! Gotta be something else. But they still look that way in all his pics. So is this even a possibility? I mean really, he seems to be about as quick and sharp as your average long term stoner. I hate to admit it but a huge part of me would find it hilarious if JB pushed his pretty princess off to a dope smoking, unemployed (unemployable?) teenage boy.

I've wondered it since I first saw him. He's got all the major tells of a stoner (and not a very crafty stoner). That general 'duuuuh' look he has; the droopy-lidded, red eyes; that dopey smile; not to mention the way he talks...

I did consider the sleep issues thing too. I am an insomniac and my eyes are red some but I don't look stoned, just tired.

I really doubt he's a pothead. I spend a good chunk of time around stoners and Bin doesn't strike me as the type. He's way too self righteous. Stoners just don't give a shit what you do.

I really never get the feeling that Ben cares about the stuff he's saying/ posting. It feels more like duuuuddde....that's so f'ing cool. Hand me those chips. (Sorry, my time with stoners was in the 80's as my language reflects :lol: ) He doesn't really seem to think at all.

I noticed this too (well, the reddish purpleish hue around his eyes) and have the same problem. It is just a consequence of not having much of a fat layer between your eyelid muscles and your skin.

Doesn't explain the droopy lids though. He DOES look stoned all the time.

I know ultraconservatives who smoke pot because they see it as a way to stick it to the government trying to tell them what to do.

I'm not saying he does smoke pot (and I wouldn't care if he does, I stand 100% on the side of legalizing it), but he really looks like he does. As long as he doesn't start speaking against it, then I don't care. I kind of hope he is though, and that he gets Jessa to try, because it's not harmful, and just might make her think bigger things, like maybe it's okay to have fun.

I think he does. There were a couple times that pictures were posted of him wearing glasses when he was out and about (so they werent reading glasses). The first time one was posted, everyone thought he was someone new entirely (there was speculation that he was courting Jana because they were near enough to each other in the picture).

He probably only wears contacts for filming, so it probably irritates his eyes. There's lots of photos of him with Jessa where he just has his glasses on. But he looks good in glasses too. I really think he is a very good looking person.

Forget about his eyes. Let's talk about his hair. Am I the only one noticing him being "fancy" with his hair? He looks straight out of West Side Story.

He could have blepharitis... inflammation of the eyelids. It's common in contact wearers who don't change their contacts often enough, get infections in their eyelids, etc. I had hard lenses in the 70s, got infected, and haven't gotten rid of the redness YET.

But the thought of him stoned is too delicious to drop. "Duude... God is cool, man.. I wonder if he could make a rock so heavy even HE couldn't pick it up.... God is totally cool... and those Bible guys... righteous.." :lol:

Honestly, it doesn't look like blepharitis to me. The edges of his lids don't look inflamed. However it could be from his contacts. I tend to notice eyes a lot because of my husband's job with the Air Force. I call him our psycho eye guy. :-)

But anyway, he really doesn't strike me as someone who has any real interest or motivation for anything. Maybe that's why we haven't had a pregnancy announcement yet?

Ben has always struck me as a frat boy with a fondness for weed. I knew some guys like that in college, even dated one til I realized just how much weed was being consumed. Said guy had opinions on many things, delivered in a somewhat slow manner. More like pontificating than discussing or even trying to win anyone to his pov.
