Its hilarious how they present this known fact as both a shocking development and a scandal. This is a celebrity gossip magazine, how is a child born out of wedlock a scandalous story? By that reasoning, the story on the side bar about Shakira giving birth should also be scandalous since she is not married to the father.

This has been a known fact for years. I believe even the Duggars themselves said it on the show or Amy said it on the show years ago. Hell, just recently in that stupid episode where she went to Nashville she said her parents didn't marry until she was much older. Ugh.

This is why I only believe things if they are in People or on TMZ, lol

I am always surprised people on FJ don't talk about what lead JB and J'chelle to their wacky beliefs...or maybe they have but not recently.

Miscarriage while on Birth Control leds to being anti birth control

Michelle has a gay sister leads to being anti LBGT (though JB was also probably raised with those beliefs too)

JB's sister has a baby out of wedlock (and I'm sure JB feels that Amy's dad jerked her around over the years) leads to extreme courtship rules.

They start hanging out with Gothard and that leads to (besides other wacky beliefs and causes, of course) accountability buddies. In their books they even imply that the accountability buddy system isn't just to hold their kids accountable, it is to help protect them from creepers. Notice the duggar girls are not involved in the Gothard creepiness, probably because he knew their parents sent them everywhere in pairs.

In my view they are people who see the world in black and white and are extremely reactionary.

I could see the young JB and Michelle having wacky, reactionary ideas. They were 19 and 17 when they married. The problem is Gothardism. Once they joined that cult, they gave their minds and identities over to the brainwashing. They are perpetually 22 and 20- They now let Gothard do all the thinking and reasoning. I could not care less about the feeble minded parents. I have major concerns for their very limited offspring, especially the adults.

It wouldn't be a scandal for most people, no, but for a Duggar it would. It would have to be one of the JB & M immediate clan, however, and not centuries old news about a relative. Even Amy.
