A LOT of women would want him...but they would want him for the wrong reasons. While he's not an A-list celeb, he's still somewhat famous and is on a well known television show. That automatically "ups" his appeal factor...maybe not to you, me, or any other FJ'ers..but to many others. Even the ugliest rockstar has his groupies.

I'm sure there are also women out there who would gladly sleep with him for the payday and/or fame. A Duggar involved in a cheating scandal would be a hot story. Any tabloid would pick that up (which would probably turn into mainstream news eventually) and the payday would be MASSIVE. Even if the woman didn't want to be out'ed herself, tabloids will still buy stories and keep you anonymous if you are able to provide solid, concrete evidence that said event happened. Though "sources" are usually found out if it's a big enough scandal and other news orgs get on the case.

Depends on who she is, I think. If she's some girl who was honestly just "taken in" by Josh and has genuine feelings for him (especially if she is young and/or lacking in her own support network), the OVERWHELMING amount of pressure that the Duggars and their religious cohorts can bring upon her may be able to convince her to do something she regrets. Which is really sad, but honestly something that happens.

However, if she is able to stay strong (especially if she has her own strong support system to shield her), she'll be able to have the child, get it paternity tested, and force Josh to man up to his child. And if she is espeically savvy (or has good counsel), she'll be able to document the pressure to terminate the pregnancy, and in doing so set her and her child up for life by selling the story AND suing the Duggars for harassment.

This is so true. I grew up in the Duggar neck of the woods and personally knew several skirt wearing super fundie girls who were pretty much dragged kicking and screaming for abortions. I guess this was before most fundies homeschooled. They couldn't handle the stigma associated with a non virgin daughter and I guess figured the girls would be too scared to tell anyone.

Josh getting caught with an escort would not surprise me at all. He does seem to love Anna, but he looks so miserable these days. It's funny how Anna appears to be oblivious to how unhappy her husband is, or maybe she just doesn't care. She seems determined to have as many babies as possible while Josh looks unhappier with each additional blessing. You would be amazed at the people who can find someone. Case in point:

My sister's ex cheated on her. He has 4 small children. He is a very, very, large man. He has no job, no drivers liscence, no ambition, and no education. Beyond having no education, he is ignorant and proud of it. He pretty much personifies white trash and is the man that every father dreads his daughter bringing home. (Sis isn't much better, so I'm not just ragging on him)

He still found a woman willing to sleep with him. Now that Sis moved out, they're living together. He hasn't seen 3 of his children (one is his from a previous relationship and didn't move out with Sis) since November. Apparently none of this sends up a red flag to the new girlfriend.

I know we call him "Smuggar" and all, but... looking at photos of him in the past couple of years, I see that his eyes look dead and sad. Anna glows and sparkles, and Josh looks like someone who is barely holding it together. He's an adult, and responsible for his own actions, but I can't help thinking that he's always chafed against his sexually and personally repressive environment. I recall some interview, probably before he was married, where he was talking about some aspect of the Quiverfull lifestyle, and he said something like "I've been intellectualizing it, and I know I shouldn't do that." It was clear that he was reminding himself to not question whatever issue it was they were talking about, but to just accept it all on faith. I think he's been fighting his parents' beliefs for a long time, but never had the courage to openly step away from that life.

I'm been thinking on this entire thing and reading what everyone was saying -- from before the molestation issue and the recent threads -- and I really think that even if someone loves another person, they can fall into cheating. Especially Josh who seems to have a high sex drive or wants to have sexual relations without procreation. Maybe he loves Anna but maybe he doesn't love what sex with Anna brings along -- a larger brood. Of course inexcusable and I really feel bad for Anna but.... Josh has been unhappy for years, it showed and aged him beyond belief. We should also think about the type of crowd he was hanging with. The right wing elite in DC are almost CERTAINLY having affairs left and right because that's what comes with the territory of being a politician (thank god my boyfriend hates politics!). I think it was Lady bird Johnson who said that her husband "loved people, all people, and half those people were women" -- which is a weird way of putting it to say the least. And Jackie O and Hillary Clinton were both said to be aware of their husbands affairs, even if they weren't as candid as Lady Bird. If the President of the United States engaged in that type of stuff, I'm sure wannabe politician Josh Duggar did too.

Anyway, I'm certain Josh had several affairs. He wouldn't have paid upward to almost 1000 dollars if he hadn't.

I think how quickly he was willing to admit to this stuff. It's like he wants his life to be dismantled. He didn't admit to this stuff on his own volition, so it isn't exactly self sabotage... but close.
