Does anyone know if our friendly troll commenter blogs or comments on any other blogs besides zsuzsu? Since her line of thinking on the earthquake was so DEEP, I'm curious whats going on as god's wrath barrels towards her on LI.

And best wishes to all those who have friends/family in the NE.

i haven't seen her on anyone's but zsu's, but i hope she considers the forecast as a warning from god. my family and i evacuated to mid NC from a barrier island at noon yesterday. currently on a most welcome "vacation" of sorts while i wait for the pics to come in. so far there's one of the main piers, the only gas station, and my favorite fruit stand in ruins for our pics. not looking forward to what will become of LI and the northeast in general.

my youngest sister (21, currently a senior with two oddly named majors and plans to become a missionary) texted me yesterday to wish me the lord's comfort and that she hopes we see the face of god in this emergency. is that kind of like the people in sc who saw jesus in the walmart receipt?

Pretty much... I'm waiting for a few carolina refugees to arrive here. LI isnt going to take this well and I wonder how the WTC site is going to deal with the possibility of flooding.

Hope all goes well in NC and that your fruit stand can rebuild!

i didn't even think of the WTC center..i hope it isn't so strong when it gets there. even 2 1/2 hours inland, it's still raining and pretty windy here. The few that stayed on our island have had constant torrential rain and 50-60 mph winds. that's as a category 1, about an hour ago.

i just hope NYC and even taryn the terrible know how to plan for a hurricane. we're kind of used to it around here..

There's a thread around here somewhere that shows you how to find some of Taryn's comments on other blogs. She gets around.

I am pretty sure that she comment on most of the blogs on ZsuZsu's blog roll but most of them are so boring that I cannot be bothered to check to see if its true.

I love that shirt ($54.45 at Zazzle.com). I was unsure of whether or not I could wear it but Leviticus 19:19 (KJV) says "Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee." The lesbian bible is different. It says "Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material." The shirt is cotton/polyester blend. This proves that lesbians hate polyester. I just peed. I will buy a shirt for each of my children (6) and grandchildren (5). We will wear them while we walk to the store for milk after hurricane Irene hits Long Island.

      Stupid loneliness!
      Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
      Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
      I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
      My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
      And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me. 
      I feel invisible. 
      Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.

      Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.
