WARNING: Please be very careful if you search for culottes on line! The word (in a couple of spellings) is apparently associated

with sexual filth in some other language.

Culottes: Gateway to sexual filth. Who knew?

Happy Saturday, Proud and Haughty Scorners. Hope your weekend is going well. :)

For example, currently, the term "culottes" in French is now used to describe women's panties, an article of clothing that has little or no relation to the historic culottes.

Is she literally referring to women's underwear as "sexual filth?"

Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household:

for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Not all of you will need this section, since some of you live in warm enough climates to not need much care in this matter. For those of us who live where it can get cold, and even bitter cold, this is essential!

First of all, based on the verse above, it is apparent that red clothes are warmer for cold weather than other colors. Though we have no "scientific evidence" at this time, I am sure that this is true because Bible science is always more reliable than man's science. 1Timothy 6:20.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :laughing-rolling:

From Blessed Quietness Editor-- This web page is now a ministry of Mary Van Nattan Stephens as the wife of Peter Stephens. Emails will be pre-read by Peter and forwarded to Mary if he feels she can be of help.

Guess we can't write her a note, huh?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :laughing-rolling:

My interpretation, whether it's correct or not, is that scarlet and purple dyes were scarce and expensive when Proverbs 31 was written. So any family that could afford to wear scarlet-dyed clothes, could also afford enough firewood to keep their house warm.

What does she mean by "historic" culottes? In French the term originally meant trousers, in particular the short kind worn by men before the French revolution. Hence the sans-culottes. Then it evolved in wearing underpants, in particular women's.

Anyway, this is one obnoxious modesty website, even for fundie standards. Talk about haughtiness! And I assume it's pointless to suggest that "scarlett" in the bible refers presumably to some heavy fabric that happened to be red. I seriously doubt a garnment of, say, red linen, will keep you very warm.

Please tell me that Homemaker's Corner & Blessed Quietness are parody sites. There is entirely too much f*ckery stuffed into one blog for this to be real.

An illustration of how the home is perverted by ruling women is Hillary Clinton. She has ruled and ridden Bill Clinton to fame and fortune, and now she is about to trash him. Bill has just about lost all his usefulness to this tussy of the One World Club. She will soon either divorce him or arrange to have him killed.

edited to add my favorite example of said f*ckery.

I confirm that culotte is indeed a French word for the female underpants, but we usually say "petite culotte". So I'm not surprised that she found porn. But a normal person to whom it happens just doesn't click on the porn links and goes on with her day.

I once read the term "appropriate butt sniff" in a dog training manual and decided to Google it. You can imagine that what I found wasn't related to dogs at all.

Because I'm a geek, is that feminine or masculine?

Feminine. "La petite culotte".

......except that they were photographed in NYC last week holding hands walking down the street with big grins on their faces. A rare occurance for these 2, but nice to see. Clinton groupie here!!

We are going camping over labor day wknd up in Wyoming and it gets pretty chilly at night, so I'll be sure to pack all my red clothes !!! If the bible said so it must be true!! Even if I read the translation wrong !!!

Tussy, I don't think it means what she thinks it means. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tussy

Why is she looking for culottes anyway? As a fundie, shouldn't she wear only real skirts? Or is she trying to be manly by wearing a type of pants?

You know, my Olympic mitten from Vancouver are red--that must be why they are so warm, not because they are lined with polar-tec.

When winter comes, I'm gonna go for a hike in a red bathing suit and see what happens. I'm sure I'll be toasty warm.

Ok, just to see what happened, I googled "culottes" and everything turned up as expected, at least on the first page - just the Wikipedia page, some shopping results for the type of culottes we'd think of, and some blogs about them.

Then on dormouse's tip, I wondered if this particular woman is petite and was looking for culottes in petite sizes, so I googles "petite culottes". Sure enough, a bunch of sites in French came up. However, why would this blogger be stupid enough to bother with sites that are clearly in the French language in the first place? Why didn't she just realize that those sites are not what she wanted and not click on them? She clearly doesn't know French, so she should have just revised her search and ignored sites that she wouldn't understand anyway.

I also confirm the thing about using "culottes" in French but yeah, it's usually "petite culottes." Historically in French it would just refer to standard trousers, the implication being that they reached below a man's knee. I get the feeling that historically in English it meant the same thing - or at least that's the vibe I get from reading British documents of the French Revolutionary period (historian here).

This person is clearly very misinformed.

Because google can NEVER be wrong and you MUST click on the first thing it gives you. If you dont go in order you are not following thenatural god mandated order of things. It does not matter that you cant understand what is written, a man will tell her what it says.

As for the site being monitored BWAHAHAHAHA. Love it!

There was a myth about red wool flannel petticoats in Victorian times. Something about them being healthy. But, WOOL FLANNEL is a warm fabric....

Yeah, I think we all have done that thing with googling something and then realizing it's other meaning. I did it once with play parties (I was looking for the kind that is a folk dance thing.)

THAT'S why my coat isn't warm enough! It's blue instead of red! I bet if I got the same coat in red, it would be MUCH warmer. *facepalm*

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.
