I can't think of anything I'd like to do less watch people get baptised at an amphitheatre in Ohio with Christian rock bands providing the soundtrack. Having a 20 year old kid try to give me marriage advice would really be the cherry on top though...

So 4 of 8 speakers claim to fame is courting. I guess the young newlyweds can attest to how great their courtships were, but honestly hearing from a couple who'd been married a few years would be more meaningful.

That kind of thing makes me want to start my own, secular conference about marriage, where I'll be giving the speeches. I'll be imparting all the wisdom of my two and a half month old marriage, plus the eleven years we spent in a relationship courting.

ETA: This is not to demean any kind of marriage. I object to the fundie idea that they have all the answers about individual unions. Unions, of any kind, are varied, and there is no "one size fits all".

Not that pregnant people are inherently annoying because they are not, won't anna and more than likely Jessa be pregnant. So we will not only get the "We know so much about marriage" but also "We know so much about baby raising". Sure the J'slaves raised the littles but I mean the game sorta changes when you're birthing and nursing on your own.

depends on the artist and your musical preferences. some are good, others are too overt. some i swear people just buy because they see "jesus" and think they have to support a fellow christian.

I've been to a few of these Christianpalooza events. The music is actually very good and at least you don't have to worry about having beer spilled all over you.
