Dillard Wedding Photographer

I noticed in the thread regarding where the Seewalds are living that someone asked about Jill and Derick's wedding photos. I wasn't able to find the ones they were asking for specifically (apparently they took some by a lake), but I found the website for their wedding photographer.

I actually really like the pictures that were posted, especially the ones capturing the first look - I thought they were really sweet, the quality was excellent, and that Derick and Jill look very much like themselves - which is good because it could indicate that they were really relaxed during the pictures.

 

This is the same photographer who did Jessa and Ben's pictures if I remember correctly, so I think we can expect some more nice pictures of them this spring.

 

Thoughts? Opinions?

I don't even care anymore. Any real interest I ever had in the Duggar kids becoming adults was squelched when Jill purposed to go barefoot at her church wedding and Jessa posted her sex pic which was then matched by her gross boundaryless parents, who had already creeped me by humping at the golf course.

I'd like to see what becomes of Josiah, Joy, Jana, Hannie, and Jordyn and Jennifer. Don't care about the older single men, not interested too much in the howlers. Pretty sure Josie is going to be a spoiled bratty princess her entire life.

Tired of being jerked around with things like Jill got married, there were pics, it all happened then we had to wait for an incredibly boring season of All Jill All The Time then a weirdly scripted wedding episode in which guests and volunteers were treated badly.

So sick of the kissing stuff now. I don't enjoy people's kissing photos, I don't need visual reminders that these have, had or will have sex. Didn't watch the last two episodes of 19kac and probably won't be arsed to watch Jessa's wedding, even though I did like her dress and presumably she knows how to behave like a grownup in a house of worship. Cuz I don't believe they had sex at the church during their wedding.

Elizabeth was at Ben and Jessa’s wedding but I don’t think she was their main photographer. I think that went to the husband and wife team of Britton & Erika Felber (they did Alyssa and John Webster’s wedding a while back). Elizabeth was however the main photographer at Jill and Derick’s wedding. She also shot David/Priscilla and Chad/ Erin’s weddings.

I really liked Jill and Derick’s wedding photos too. IMO they had a warmth to them which so far I’ve been missing in Ben and Jessa’s photos. That doesn’t mean their photos were any more or less better, but it was just two different vibes for two vastly different couples. Ben and Jessa’s photos were very sophisticated and glamorous while Jill and Derick’s seemed more down-to-earth and homely, not in a bad way though.

I was hoping to see more photos like the ones above but they’ve really been few and far between in comparison to the rest of their wedding photos. Not sure why photos from that particular shoot have been kept such a mystery but I can only assume it's at the request of Derick and Jill and/or for privacy reasons.

Edit: Finally figured out how to post attachments so I took out the links and added the photos instead. Woo hoo, go me! :D

I think the photographer does a nice job. It must be tough to work with people who've barely ever touched each other and never kissed until that day, and have them take a bunch of touchy-kissy photos and try to make them look natural.

Plus they have to make sure they don't catch any shots of the men getting too........excited -cough-

Great photographer... poor models. Hardly their fault though, they've never touched or kissed each other before. All that awkwardness shines through.

Lol! I completely understand. My Fiance and I get married next fall, so I'm slightly obsessed with wedding stuff at the moment (purely out of necessity - otherwise nothing would get done).

I actually really like that last photo of them, the one where she is resting her head against him. It just looks very peaceful and natural.

Not sure why more of those pictures haven't been released. Maybe Jill and Derick decided to hold some back for privacy like you suggested?

They are a bit awkward in some of them, but they aren't nearly as bad as I would have expected. A bit more stiff around one another than you normally see in wedding photos, but the quality is good and they look relatively happy in the photos (which is the most important thing).

My SO and I were so awkward at first, so these two aren't all that bad for a couple that has never embraced.

They look very happy, I know some disagree, but I think they are very happy together. Thanks for posting.

Sorry that one of him picking her up is awkward. Her arm looks like it's sunburned. There's just something kind of hot mess and sweaty about their photos. Maybe it was all the running around before the wedding.

ETA: Sorry for being so judgy - the last one posted is very sweet. Congratulations to the photographer for capturing a beautiful moment.

My catty comment of the day is she should have had Erin (Bates) Paine do her hair. Erin knows how to get the set in to last all day.

I wish Jill had found a different style wedding dress/veil that would have gone with her "Shabby chic" style more. Her hair doesn't match the dress. But if she had worn a softer simpler dress, kind of a boho style, then her bare feet and natural hair would have looked fine with that. I just think her dress was a bit too formal for that look, plus I hate to say it, but the fit was not flattering. It really made her look thick through the middle, which I think added speculation to the baby before wedding rumors that came soon afterwards. (No, I don't think she was, I am just saying that many speculated that, at the time)

Sorry to double post, but I have to say, that while Jill may not be my fave of the daughters, I do respect the fact that she seems less superficial about looks and such than the other older girls. She may be preachy, self-righteous and a goody two shoes, but I don't think she is very superficial about her appearance. Compared to Jinger, Jessa and even Jana, she wears little makeup and tends to let her hair be more in it's natural state than the others do. I think if Jill had been raised in a different family, she would have been a high achiever in some sort of humanitarian type of work. I could see here in birkenstocks, no makeup, and long flowy dresses as she worked in rural conditions helping to care for underserved women and children. I could see her as an advocate for women and children's health initiatives and maybe, even for birth control. Obviously her upbringing would have had to be very different, for that happen, though.

She strikes me as one of the brighter of the kids, and more disciplined and hard working.

As someone who is getting married in March, these Duggar wedding threads are great examples of what NOT to do at your wedding and reception. I'm also doing a lot of delegating. No way could I do this all on my own. Plus everybody understands I'm the bride and what my vision is. I can get that point across without turning into bridezilla....LOL!

I am Team Jessa in terms of pictures. I find Dill's pictures really awkward. Benessa looked much more comfortable in theirs.

Also, I agree with the poster who said the fit of Jill's dress is off. She is (was) so tiny and that dress did nothing for her figure.

I guess when I casually look at the wedding photo, I notice nothing wrong with the fit of Jill's dress, I guess it's just me. Did we really expect her to wear something form-fitting??

I totally agree - they have like 95% kissy photos.
