My 12 year old daughter spent the weekend with her cousin and came back this afternoon. She went to their nondenominational semi-megachurch this morning for the first time. She came home a little outraged but mostly just incredulous about the fact that the youth leader told the kids that the Bible says women should be submissive to men. I believe her exact comment was, "that is just stupid!" :lol:

For context, we do go to church every week. But it's to a liberal Episcopalian church with a female priest. I told her if she had any questions about why that teacher was completely wrong, she should take it up with Mother A.

For all my joking around, that actually is a big deal to me. This niece is the daughter of my late sister, and has four brothers and her dad. I have a feeling stuff like that doesn't even ping my brother-in-law's radar. It was the church my sister picked out, though, so I have to step carefully.
