I am suffering through the whole thing

She claims to have seen a dragon skull at the museum and was 'shut down' by the tech. She's ADAMANT that it is a dragon and could not possibly be anything else. Here is her 'obvious dragon' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracorex she then points to all the pictures of the dinosaurs and exclaims that they all 'look like dragons!!'

Maybe someone else has better Google fu, but I have not found a TIME cover on this thing that says 'dragons'

Took her 30 years to learn about 'dinosaurs' on cave walls? Uh. I read about that in a children's book when I was like, 5 I also saw it plenty of times on sciency shows, supposed aliens, too!

There's no way that ancient man could have discovered these fossils and established a complex mythology to explain them. Nope, no way that could have happened.

The only source I could find for dinosaurs in cave paintings came from World News Daily. Anyone know of something reputable reporting that?

Oh, god

I know this post is about her creationist videos but I stumbled upon her 100 videos about the local library. OMG, she is a librarians worst nightmare. I cannot muddle through the entirety of it, but the clips I watched suggests that she thinks librarians actively support people masturbating in the library to child porn and have banned books by Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives (while it may be true that librarians aren't rushing out to add these to the collections, she could, you know, submit a request for them to be purchased). She also seems to have submitted a bunch of FOIA requests and attends board meetings regularly, interrupting business within the library. She also appears to think that the library is being run by the ALA.

Librarians catch patrons trying to access porn on the computers all the time. Doing so and especially masturbating to such porn will get you banned from the library so fast your head will spin. Librarians do not put up with that. I know at my daughter's library, adults unaccompanied by children are not allowed in the children's section. As for books by Rush Limbaugh, et al, most libraries are fairly strapped for funds. They may not want to spend the funds they do have on such dreck.

You mean, World Nut Daily. Yeah, not reputable at all.

Yeah, I was pretty sure that was not a legit source. Then I read some of their other headlines including 'Woman in Denmark marries horse, sets legal precedent' and '9th century Qur'an manuscripts found in America predating Columbus' arrival by centuries' I started to become a little skeptical of the dinosaur cave painting claim. Unfortunately, my only options for sourcing that claim were world news daily and creationist websites. So hopefully there were some video cameras recording the dinosaurs being painted or else I'm not buying it.

Yeah, she knew she was being filmed because she filmed it herself. Her intent was to "audit liberal bias" and to show how they promte their religion of Science without factual proof. Here's a couple of articles about her and what she was doing:

"In one example, Fox reads the information panel on an exhibit that details what paleontologists know about some of the first animals to make the jump from the water to land. Fox is incredulous.

“It’s not like their fins fell off and they grew feet! That’s what they want you to believe, that their fins fell off and then they grew some feet and started walking on the land. This is the dumbest theory I’ve ever heard in my whole life. It’s not good, it’s really not good. It’s bad. It’s very bad. Do you know how complex feet are?â€

Fox then goes on to explain just how complex feet are (very, very complex concludes non-scientist Megan Fox).

Of course, if the theory of evolution stated that fish one day had their fins fall off and then grew some feet and walked on land, then we might conclude that the theory was “very bad.†Fox is right about that. That’s a pretty bad theory. Fortunately, no evolutionary scientist is proposing a “fins fall off, feet grew out of the stubs†model of how animals began walking on land." (Addicting Info)

http://dangerousminds.net/comments/kook ... at_science

So she's twisting the words of evolutionary scientists then, because the whole point of EVOLution is that the transition from water to land happened GRADUALLY, not overnight like she seems to think evolution claims. Ms Fox, they're not the ones claiming the world was made in a week...

There was a documentary on pay TV here last night called Questioning Darwin - it was really interesting, as over here in Australia, we don't have the enormous Creationist following the U.S. does (thankfully!), or if it does exist here, I certainly haven't run across it. Having said that, Ken Ham is an Aussie :? Anyway here is a link to the documentary http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3528874/ which also contained references to dragons, and St George... The stupid, it burns.

Edited because my spelling has not evolved beyond third grade.

We're in the suburbs of Sydney, no creepy crawlies or dingoes here, just an elderly labrador and a cat with entirely too much attitude :D

My husband found this woman's video through one of the science / geek news sites he likes to read. We did make it to the end, but only by skipping through parts of it.

At one point, when Fox made some insane statement about fins and feet, my husband wondered aloud if this homeschooling genius had never seen a tadpole.

I bet him then that if he followed the link back to M. Fox's YouTube channel, she'd turn out to be politically "conservative." A teabagger. A conspiracy nut.

(A moment of silence, please, for all the true conservatives out there who are now unable to carry on a productive discussion with colleagues of any sort because people such as Fox and her cronies - wingnuts the Republican Party theorists once mistakenly thought they could merely use and control - make it their mission in life to waste others' time.)

She happily links, for exampe, to a radio "interview" where a pair of loud-mouthed idiots kept asking a local librarian questions they gave her no time to answer. The whole nonsense ended when one of the hosts started screaming at his guest before hanging up on her.

Her crimes, of course, were in expecting that adults should police their own activities, and also that she failed to lose her own composure and actually tried to use illustrations, past examples of how the library handled lewd conduct (including one instance of catching someone watching child porn - one instance in 12 years). In short, library pervs are rare.

...‘Well, that you know of,‘ ome of the host's cut in.

The last question she got out before the host became completely uglued was, ‘So you expect me to monitor the behaviour of other adults in the same way as I would my own 13-year-old child?‘ (She had mentioned her kid a bit earlier when she pointed out that, while the library did have monitoring software on the kids' computers, it was the job of parents to...y'know...parent their own kids.)

The host hung up on her while literally bellowing into the mic that yes he did expect librarians to babysit adult patrons.

These - Fox, her man pals who aired her ‘investigative journalism‘ concerning adults looking up bad words at the library, and others like them - would cry and moan about censorship and conspiracy if a liberal called for the same software to prevent library patrons from looking up terrorist anti-abortion groups or information on bomb-making if at were to appear on some Ruby Ridge apologists' nutty websites.

They seem almost literally incapable of anything beyond obnoxious stupidity.

I don't know that, the lyme disease ridden ticks, rabid racoons, wild turkeys and coyotes I have around my big city backyard are pretty damn homicidal.

Above Rubies is published in Australia. And there's Ray Comfort as well as Ken Ham. You just had enough sense to make them want to find more fertile pastures.

Good grief, didn't know that about Above Rubies and have never heard of Ray Comfort or Ken Ham except on here. We do have The Sparkling One as well, of course...

IMHO, us Aussies tend to be pretty cynical and laid back and don't take a lot of things too seriously, particularly people who desperately do want to be taken seriously  So to get the attention, and audience they wanted, the esteemed Messrs Ham and Comfort had to leave or keep banging their heads against a brick wall of indifference

Although people say we are a Christian country, not many people regularly attend church. I can only think of one or two out of everyone I know.
