TLC editing reruns?

I caught a re-run of Jill & Derick's wedding last weekend, and noticed that 2 "controversial" scenes had been cut out: the part where Jill says that Derick's mom "might not make it at all", as well as the moment where she licked wedding cake directly off Derick's finger.

Does TLC have a habit of listening to viewer feedback and then editing the episodes before they go to reruns? Those 2 scenes got a lot of people talking, and then they were mysteriously gone when the episode aired again.

If so, I think that's ridiculous! This family signed up to be on tv, you can't start editing out their strange moments!

Yes, TLC has always edited out stuff on re-runs...19KAC is not the first series where they have done so.

I think it's pretty common for most reality shows at this point - especially once they add in the "bonus social media content".

The most obvious one was when they aired an episode where the Duggars were visiting the Bates family. TLC got flooded with complaints about how the Bates family horses looked emaciated and were being treated poorly. The next time the episode aired, the scenes with the horses were cut out. It would be one thing if they had cut out the scenes for time, as a lot of shows do with reruns. That was not the case, as there was brand new footage of the families making sandwiches together.

Don't they normally have to shave off x amount of minutes for the repeats anyway for some reason. I have seen this with other shows, but it's never so blatant and with the most talked about stuff.

They've completely pulled footage from the original 14 Kids and Pregnant Again. They had Michelle list and describe all her children and you can see her struggling near the end of the line. It got cut for the bonus footage of either Christmas or the homeschooling convention depending when you're seeing it.

Also, I am glad they edited out Jill's words re Derick's mom- that should NEVER have been included.

It shouldn't have aired! By the time the episode aired Derick's mom had been given the all clear. She's in remission, you have to be cancer free for 5 years to be considered cleared, but Derick posted on August 15 that she was cancer free.

Agreed that it shouldn't have aired, but they did want to show concern for Cathy.

The term "cancer-free" and timelines depend on the type of cancer you have and your individual oncologist. I have been cancer-free since the date of my surgery to remove my cancer. I have been in remission since successfully completing my final round of chemo. I will not be considered cured unless I remain cancer free for five year. YMMV on this though.

Cathy has a form of lymphoma that required some agressive treatments. By the time the wedding was held, she had literally just been released from the hospital (that day) and was still very sick. I understand Jill's concern.

Ohh jeeze, GrandBerry6 just came to me, snuggled his face in my neck and barfed, all over me. In my neck, in my hair, on my face, down inside my nightie all over the front of my nightie. Ohh FUCK! Bath, washed hair, cleaned sofa. Good times, good times.

I danced through my living room feeling awesome. From time to time I do this. Maybe wine is involved. Good music is definitely involved. It is awesome. I recommend it to you. With or without wine.

After a few months of trying to decide what kind of new computer to get and my brother telling me a Mac would be the best decision I could ever make and my sister telling me that would be the worst and I ought to stick to Windows.... I now have a used Mac. I am trying to get used to it. Not easy, but the Magnifying program is a lot better than the Windows one (that was the ultimate reason for my decision) and FJ works a lot better than on my 10-year old Laptop, too!!

Y'all, holter monitors suck. And naturally the palpitations that caused this test to be ordered are remarkably absent today.
I'm off to go work out in the hopes that triggers it. T minus 10 hours till I get this thing off.

I frigging hate the toilets at this worksite. Specifically the door locks. Stupid little knoblet that isn't clear if it is locked or not. Door opens right off the main hallway and the toilet is just far enough from the door that I can't just hold the door shut in case I've got the lock wrong. I mean really people, how hard is it to design this? I just want to pee in private with no anxiety. Apparently that is too much to ask for.

First thing I'm doing when I get to the hereafter is finding the ancestors who moved to the US in the first place and asking them what the fuck they were thinking moving here in the first place.  Along with giving them an epic the reason you suck speech hopefully in the presence of God and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to all of them for condemning their descendants to living in a shithole.

Do any of you play Dyson Sphere Program?   For those who don't know what it is I'd suggest Googling it, because there's no way I could do it justice.
There's always just one more thing to do before I turn off.  Blink!  And it's 2 hours later.
