now i'll never be debt-free!

By purposing only to shop at thrift shops for non defrauding items - you too can be debt free.

end snark.

My work is serving tater tot casserole this coming week. I'm tempted to try! I now firmly believe we have some fundies in food services...or at least some midwestern transplants!

Keep in mind, that the Duggars have this stated on each of their recipes:

Quote:

NOTE: ™ = Trademark. All trademarks are property of their respective owners. Results may vary. All recipes are valid for non-commercial useotherwise written permission must be obtained from the The Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Family.

damn, there go my plans for opening a diner and serving ttc and ice cream cake. i was hoping to model it after hooters, but call it tiny tots. that name should bring in lots of fundies i can defraud while taking their money.

now i'll never be debt-free!

I didn't know you could trade mark a recipe that millions of other people made long before you had 19 kids. Huh, how about? Then in that line of thought I claim all chicken pot pies meals as mine because I thought of it once.

I had to Google what Chickenetti was... HOW do the Duggars eat this crap? Velveta and Spaghetti...ick! I remember one time visiting their website and seeing a recipe for this nasty casserole that was made with tater tots and canned soup...I'm assuming that's the other one you thought to submit, lol? Gross! Anyways, I don't watch 19 Kids but I've seen the home they built with no debt a cable TV show paid for with that kitchen with the drink fountain that looks more like the dining hall at a college than someone's home. I couldn't eat at their house, the sodium intake would kill me.

Me too. Gosh, I can't get over all this CRAP FOOD those people eat!!

When they brag about being such great cooks, what happened to cooking from scratch?? That Lasagne the Duggars seem to love so much and buy from Aldi, for example. Or how about a proper casserole.

I had no idea someone could trademark a common recipe like that since TTC has been around for longer than they have been having their 19 kids. Also, most people who would make their recipes tend to cut them down since they're not feeding 20+ people on a daily basis.

Another issue is the crap they eat, as that can't be good in the long run. Unfortunately, they seem like the type who would ignore their doctor's advice if they were told to cut back on the sodium and fat in their diet.

I also googled chickenetti (apparently it's Chicken Etti). Anyway, it led me to this blog:

duggarsblog.blogspot.com

I was scrolling through it, reading the bible verses each Duggar recommends, and imagine my surprise when between entries, I see this GoogleAd:

QY6QO.jpg

NIKE!!!

Well, I'm not about to help a fundie blog monetize, so I went back to Google and discovered it is a crappy song. I'm disappointed, I was hoping for porn.

wow...what the HELL is that ad? It looks like when he was doing his laundry he lost a bunched up pair of socks in those short-shorts.

Except nowadays it's often cheaper to just buy new. Thrift stores are getting downright expensive. That should be their new motto: buy new and use the difference to buy VEGETABLES!

Did you seriously just suggest adding vegetables to the mixture? That is blasphemy! The closest you can get to veggies in TTC is the tiny chunks of mushroom in the cream of mushroom soup. If you add vegetables, it's no longer TTC and becomes some fancy gourmet stuff. What are you, a hippie?

you probably use spices too, right?

i wonder if you made an all-organic version of this, if it would be good or just taste like expensive baked slop?

I have made a weight watchers version of chickenetti but they called it chicken spaghetti it had fresh peppers and onions in it which I'm not sure that the duggars had but pretty much the same type only a little healthy. chicken breasts, low fat Velveeta, low fat cream of mushroom soup, whole wheat spaghetti, peppers and onions. It was delicious!

Got a recipe for homemade healthier tater tots...

http://thecoconutmama.com/2011/10/homemade-tater-tots/

Maybe there actually might even be a way to make your tater tot casserole somewhat healthy?

Lol.

Try mixing the spuds with some cooked yams and grated onion. I don't fry my tots, I do brush them with EVOO and bake on about 400 on a non stick no sided cookie sheet.

Potatoes fried in beef tallow? It's the first I'd heard that the local chip shop serves health food :/

Still, I'd rather eat those than the original, they actually sound tasty. Salt and vinegar on mine please.

Jewess you rock! Now we need a recipe for homemade Velveeta and we can really help Jim Boob lower his sodium intake!

Lol, if I should come across that, I'll certainly share it. Somehow I doubt its possible...

I look at that recipe and think, "Those potatoes would never make it into tater tot form, because I'd just fry til done and scarf them all up!"

What a load of work, when you can just eat fried potatoes!

An amazing substitute for velveeta:

2 cups milk, 1/2 a cup of flour, 1 stick of butter, clove of garlic (minced or crushed) , bag of cheese of your choice.

Melt butter, whisk in flour. Slowly pour in milk, keep whisking until it starts to thicken. Add garlic and slowly a few TBS at a time add in cheese. Stir until melted before you add more in. Once all the cheese is in, it'll be like really thick cheese sauce. If you need it thicker, add a bit more flour. DO NOT USE MOZZERELLA. it'll make it gross and clumpy.

You can go all organic on this (which is what I do), or you can get the ingredients at Aldi, either way, its VERY quick to whip up- to cook this up would take MAYBE 5-10 minutes more than the boxed mac and cheese. :) And its HOLY HELL so much more delicious. i used it to make a tuna casserole a few weeks back.

Josh and Anna could use a healthier tater tot recipe. Have you ever noticed how she always mentions that he needs to eat less/lay off the calories? She's made at least two comments about his weight gain this season.
