1. Jessa's removal of the post wedding hickey photo.

2. The creeptastic photo of the parents reenacting Blessa's fundie porn kiss. Ewwww.

3. All those Bible verses that essentially say haters gonna hate hate hate.

What's your proof?

No doubt at all they read this - we should use this to school the older unmarrieds on how to successfully escape the emotional abuse of fundie crazy town.

Well, if TLC reads here, I hope they read the 'requests for next season episodes' thread and don't give us another full season of Jessa getting ready for HER wedding... when we know we're going to hear a pregnancy announcement in.... 5...4...3...2...

I don't think it means they read FJ. (False) Rumors about Jessa and Ben are all over news and gossip sites. I haven't seen anything about a hickey photo.

I think it's likely that the Duggar parents have authorized someone from the show to read here and on other social media sites on their behalf.

For evidence, look no further than the incident of the poster who mentioned that she was going to attend the Duggar yard sale that was to benefit the NICU. The poster said she was going, and even mentioned what she would be wearing. TLC crew members and cops were waiting for her when she got there.

Long story, and you can google for details, but my point is that no one would have expected her to show if someone representing the show WASN'T reading here. The first and only place the poster mentioned she'd be going to the yard sale, as far as I know, was on this website.

There are also other speculative incidents that are added/edited/removed from the show's storyline that are frequently discussed here. I say speculative because the show's producers could have read about viewer reactions anywhere and not just here. For example, people complain about Michelle not spending enough time with her older children, and then all of a sudden it becomes a point of focus across several show episodes. People complain about how stupid it is for Michelle to wrestle Josie into a bolero jacket at Jill's wedding reception for the sake of modesty, and then all of a sudden that part of the video is removed from the clip on their official blog.

Seems to me that the Duggars have readers whose job is to look out for their interests and help spin the family in a more positive light.

Edited to add that it didn't necessarily have to be a crew member, it could have been anyone who knows the family personally but happens to read here. But my point still stands that it also could have been crew.

In today's world, it should be expected that someone, somewhere in the TLC/Duggar machine is watching the internet for reaction. Someone probably does read here, that a reasonable expectation.

I hope that as the kids leave home, they do start reading here. Yeah, it is hard to hear people saying that their beliefs are stupid and their parents don't love them, but maybe if they read enough, one day something someone says might reach them...cause there are people on here who care about them and are sympathetic to them.

I think it's pretty feasible that that would be some sort of watchdog for TLC properties. Off topic a bit, but I know Disney sometimes goes after artists if they associate themselves with a project while it's in production on a public form. I think babbling on FB is ok, but open forums are monitored. It's more complex than what I stated, but, yeah, I'd say the internet is at least loosely monitored.

They don't have to "read" here to know what is going on here. There are entire companies whose sole purpose is to developer SaaS to help you manage your online brand/reputation.

i just wonder how the girls can have access to pinterest without compromising their parents' strict internet rules. Do they just hit a firewall if they try to click links to pages that don't fit into the rules? How can they have instagram and not read the comments? When Jessa and Ben made all those tacky posts, people put well-thought out responses in their comment sections. So, do they just ignore that stuff? :evil-eye:

I can see where someone who has an interest in the Duggars would employ a reading service - a service that searches for articles related to the client's interest. They would monitor media for whatever they could find on that topic.

So - why not a 'reader' who monitors this site?

I wouldn't at all be surprised if there was a full-time reader here, or at least someone like a social media assistant who is charged with reading what we say.

I think it was shitty of the Duggars to bring the cops to their yard sale just because someone they don't agree with was going to be there. It shows how much they don't actually adhere to the faith they proclaim to follow. I doubt Jesus would have concerned himself with whether the woman might have been violent or disagreeable. He'd use the opportunity to say hello and show her a bit of hospitality.

But I think we've all learned that the Duggars don't do anything for other people. They go on the occasional poverty tour abroad and give money to hate groups. When's the last time you heard of them surprising a waiter with a large tip, paying the person behind them's meal, or giving money to keep a homeless shelter afloat? Yeah, never.

It doesn't even need to be a human being. It can be monitored without that and then aggregated, categorized etc. I suspect that TLC quite likely uses this just based on many of their brand focused responses to controversies.

Since it was an open sale what did they use for an excuse for turning her away?

I think it's likely that people from the show read here since it's a big place of discussion about the family and typically in a negative sense, which they would need to be aware of in order to make sure they maintain their image.

But it's probably unlikely that anyone from the family itself read here, at least not more than once or twice. It would be hard to resist the curiosity about a website named after one of your siblings, but I think once they see the things that are said about them here, it's unlikely that they would ever return. Even if we're usually sympathetic toward the kids while they're living at home (although that tends to change once they get married and become an independent presence online), there is really no sympathy for their parents or lifestyle or community leaders here. You can only subject yourself to so much bashing of a person you genuinely love, like your parents, before you remove yourself from that environment. They would need to have some really deep resentment and dislike of their own family to spend much time here without finding those conversations personally hurtful. (Of course that's not outside the realm of possibility, but I think if there are resentful and angry ones among them, it's not so deep that they don't also feel protective of those family members.)

She had posted that she would be taking photos / secretly recording her interactions at the yard sale, and that she would try to engage the kids in conversations and ask them questions about their life and then post the answers here. Since the event was being filmed for an episode of the show their was a sign prohibiting taking photos and recording. Personally I don't blame them for being worried. You have someone coming from a site dedicated to talking trash about your family and your beliefs -- and they intend to get close to your little kids. Really, for all they know it would be like Someone from Westboro Church showing up to talk to the children at a Pride event.

Eta: obviously the FJ person would have been perfectly nice and not harassed the kids --- but the a Duggars and TLC wouldn't know that. And there are a lot of creepers who obsess on celebrity children.

SOMEBODY does not ignore it, because I have been ditched as a Jessa Instagram follower, probably due to unsupportive comments, and cannot re-follow.

The people reading posts are probably the Duggars themselves... The kids were restricted, but the parents could have all the access in the world...Josh and Anna have been official adults for 6 years...I'm sure the Jessa and Jill had access once "they put on a ring on it"...and haven't I heard that Ginger is in charge of social media?

I'm convinced Jessa reads here. She throws out too many fuck you's...like when she was talking about how Ben tells her he loves her all the time, and she had to add--with this LOOK on her face--"Yes, saying 'I love you' falls within the courtship rules;" her joking about his age after all the comments about him being too young, when IIRC him being younger than her had never been mentioned on the show before; even that kissing picture--maybe it was a response to all the speculation about awkward sex among fundies who go from zero to fucking in a matter of hours.

It's entirely possible that TLC or others reads for them and summarizes things they need to change for the show, but the way Jessa acts sometimes gives me the impression of someone who reads what's said about her and her family and want to shut people up.

I was blocked from her instagram and the duggarfam instagram as well. Don't really have any idea why. But, I cant even view their accounts unless I do so from my browser and I'm not logged in.

Kind of Duggars related. On an episode where the Duggars visit the Bateses, there were emaciated horses being ridden. On the repeat a few hours later, no horses. This happened after people here were commenting on it. Most of the FU internet things they do have happened after reading here and other snark sites. So yeah, the Duggars and TLC have people reading here.

If Jessa wasn't reading before, I wouldn't be surprised if she soon has a peek here. She's suddenly got unfiltered internet now doesn't she?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the older girls already have unrestricted internet access? I thought they were the password keepers the older boys and the kids had to go to for internet access. They've probably been reading some unapproved stuff for years (though if they actually learn anything from it is anyone's guess), and since Jill the Resident Snitch and All Around Pain in the Ass has left it's possible their browser histories got much more interesting.

I wouldn't be surprised if TLC had minders reading here- 19KAC is a brand that TLC has developed and I am sure they keep an eye on what didn't forums are saying.

I have no doubt that TLC, People, Radar and a few others read here on a daily basis. That's how they get their leaks and leads from posters that really do know something. I have no doubt also that Duggar friends and family peek here from time to time and even post.
