I can't tell if they are a joke or legit. They hate EVERYONE, atheist, women, Pit Bulls (agents of Satan...I kid you not), Obama, PETA, Homosexuals, Wicca, Formula feeders, Unions, Catholic...and that is just on the first page! It's almost like they have taken every hot button topics and just made a FB page for it!

the whole microchip thing is a legit belief (the specific obama thing tied with it, i'm not sure, as i was way out of fundyism before he came into office). it ties into the mark of the beast, end times, and all that. they think we'll be forced to get it as the mark, so we'll need to be scanned for every transaction we do, like buying food and gas, entering and exiting certain places, getting medical treatment, etc.

I used my fakebook page to "like" them. in the "people who liked this also liked" section Black jesus and other similar sites appeared... I'm guesing Satire.

Bush and Chaney were pushing this microchip business for everyone when they were in office especially after 9-11 when they were schlopping the fear factor at the American Public. Chaney said it would be worth it to get chipped so that if there was another attack at a later time on American Soil it would be easy to identify bodies by just a scan and bring up medical records in case of emergency. There are couples and families in Florida who volunteered to get the chip and they are being monitored at all times. Even my own doctor said something about how great it would be if the chip came to fruition. I said Hell no! There is no way in hell I will get that chip.

A lot of you have much more interesting FB feeds than myself. A friend of mine has been struggling with morbid obesity for as long as I've known her (9years) the last three she has been very actively trying to lose weight. Posting her efforts and progress on FB very regularly. She has a personal trainer, posts her triumphs and losses.

She posts today because she went to the doctor and is still morbidly obese despite her best efforts. Her health is compromised she has problems with depresion, heart problems, cholestoral, diabetes. She is in her early thirties. So her doc revisits the idea of a gastric bypass. He has been gently suggesting it for years, she also has three young kids, one with special needs.

So the comments go like this:

Some doctors don't know what's right and don't have your best interest in mind!

Try paleo! I lost 9 pounds!

I have been reading about hormone problems that make weight loss hard.

More stupid stuff about evil medicine.

For fuck sakes her health is in DANGER! She needs help, why not say somthing encouraging. Don't you think she has tried every diet imaginable and then some.

A meme titled "Natural Order of the Household" with umbrellas labeled "Christ" (the biggest one...each one is smaller), "Husband", and "Wife". The husband is designated to "protect" and "provide" and the wife to be the "manager of the home", children are below the wife and don't get an umbrella.

And the comments are all about how this is how these fundagelical relatives grew up and their entire lives are perfect and now we don't do that and everything is wrong.

Can't help but wonder what the poster's daughter who is a single mom with three kids thinks about this one.

I also wonder what exactly her husband is protecting her from in their tiny rural town where there hasn't been a crime worse than petty vandalism in well over 25 years.

Ima single mom with three kids and I've seen a similar depiction and it's depressing.

I guess I get no umbrella, or some cheery church person will tell me "JESUS is your umbrella."

Things like that always make me feel further pushed to the back of the church. I wanted to have a marriage with a husband and our children but things didn't work out that way and I'll just be honest, usually I feel there is no real place for me in a church. Gotta have a hubs for that.

I must have hid most everyone who posts about politics, because I'm not getting much of that on my feed at all. Which is surprising, actually. Or I've learned to tune it out.

However, I am sick and tired of "click bait." Things like "You won't believe what happens next!" and then a link to a video on Upworthy or some other site that is making money off of my clicks. For one, I hate being linked to a video without a transcript. For two, OMG I hate being baited like that. "Click here to watch this little girl overcome cancer/fly to mars/ride a pony" 'Click here if you want to know the truth about what is in your food!"

Also I get conflicting messages constantly about eating and running and running faster and how to train and what to eat and what not to eat and what food is super hot right now.

I have so mnay friends who are all about FUCK YAH, Vaccinate your kids you idiot! SCIENCE BITCHES!

But, that is the only credible science thing they tout, the rest of it is talking about get the flouride out of the water, hell no gmo,... etc. You know the topics.

I never open my mouth, but, do these people realize that the SAME SCIENCE that has proven vaccines safe are also the SAME science that has proven that all those other things are safe...

You know what annoys me in that area? The same people who go after fundamentalists in their FB posts and in real life for not embracing evolution and scream "SCIENCE, DUH!" and think they are so superior...those are the same people posting that you can prevent skin cancer by practicing alternate nostril breathing. And I so much want to say to some of them that they are just as scientifically illiterate as creationists.

(And the alternate nostril breathing to cure any and all skin problems was in my news feed yesterday).
