Since the whole "confirmation name" thing is addressed as choosing a patron saint and the DRE likes to talk about how the saint should reflect something the kid is interested in...mine all want St Sebastian, the patron saint of athletes. And our parish priest has strong feelings that girls pick females and boys pick males...so this is a problem for half of the kids. I also think that for the majority, sports will not be the focus of their lives by 10th grade or so, and certainly by their freshman year of college. So we're trying really hard to get them to branch out. No luck so far. And they were supposed to choose one and turn it in by last February. :roll:
