Wohoo The DUggar kids can visit 75 pre-approved websites once big sis Jana types in the passcode. I know this has been discussed here somewhat. I think it is an attempt to make them look more 'liberal''. This is 75 sites out of the whole dang internet. I know i visit way more doing research for articles.

LOL where did this information come from? and now I'm really curious what the 75 sites are. We know Facebook Twitter and instagram must be on there and of course soap box derby car sites. :lol:

Ivycoveredtower, I'm pretty sure Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are not on the pre-approved site list. People will often post immodestly dressed images of themselves or other people on those sites, not to mention they'll write things that the Duggars would disapprove of. All the things the Duggars have posted on their social media pages are posted by the older girls who can access those sites because they have the password, but the guys and younger kids do not have the password.

If you google "Michelle Duggar internet", you can go to a page on the Duggar site which lists several of their pre-approved websites. If you google "Duggar internet", you can go to an interview with Michelle on Tips on Life and Love website which has her saying that there are over 75 pre-approved websites on their computers.

Man, my 10 year old has more freedom on the internet and she has no restrictions, she just knows what she can and can't look at. She accidentally went to a porn site once and came to me crying and saying "I DIDNT MEAN TO GO HERE!" lol she mistyped something. I trust her though but still check her phone and computer every so often. I have no need not to trust her. It must suck to be so wary of your children. I wonder if google is even allowed.... it may send them to some bad bad bad sites :p :p

I can't imagine that search engines would be approved, as they provide snippets of information from so many unapproved sites. I do not want this to exist, but I bet someone could make money creating a search engine with targeted approved advertising that only returned approved websites.

You can use a Google Image search to get all the porn pictures that you want, without ever visiting the actual websites. :whistle:

It's so easy these days to get pass a firewall. Well it depends on the software. But Facebook and Twitter is blocked at my son's school and he gets on it just fine.

Seriously?! THE BEST thing about having a smartphone is that I can look things up and educate myself when I'm out and about. What's the point in even having a coloured screen without search engines? Instagram?

I wonder what the rules are now that Jill is married, or who even carries her cell plan. My sister and her husband have all of her kids AND their spouses on their phone plan (though for free minutes, not manipulation.). I wonder if Boob & Mullet will absorb Derick into theirs, but in order to control them both...or if Derick will take Jill's number onto his plan, and what the rules there would be... :think:

I know all the older girls have phones I would guess. John, Joseph, Josiah and Joy have them to.. once I heard someone say something about everyone over 13 having a phone not sure if that's true. but if it is then everyone James and up would have one.

I'm wondering why would any of these kids need phones since they have no friends, don't hang out are watched every time of the day, and are at home most of the time.

if they're faith is so great, why are they so paranoid about their kids wandering away from it? i mean, if every other faith and walk of life was so bad, don't you think the kids could see that for themselves and cling to the family ways?

*snort* of course, we know that's a load of bull puckey, i bet anything if they were really exposed to the reality of other religions and ways of life, that not all of them would stay in the christian faith. hell, out of the three children my parents had, one is a buddhist (my brother), one is a pagan (myself), and one is a "christian" for namesake only, and is primarily scientific-minded, being a scientist herself (my sister). although, honestly, i don't know the last time my sister went to church, the very liberal church she did go to over ten years ago when we visited. perhaps she doesn't anymore. she certainly doesn't mention it on her fb. *shrug* and we were all raised very strictly religious and fundy. we all just managed to get out from under our parents.
