Holy crap yes it is edited! They have popups and interviews with the Duggars. It is called Dishing with the Duggers. Glad I decided to DVR this! lol BElieve it or not The girls said that the early chart in the first special is how they got a penny per checkmark. Is that a Gothard thing?

Let us know any new/interesting info! Or any funny pop-ups. I'd watch if I didn't move back home - my parents might judge me. Not as much as they'd judge the Duggars, though. Oooh...I want them to see the episode where they go to the Creationism Museum. Their heads would explode (especially my mom, my dad would probably make fun of them). And their staycation is this week. Dammit.

I will rewatch and put the popups and info on later. I am just home for lunch. I wonder if they will do this for all the specials. I might make a new thread with the info if it does it for all the specials

The girls just admitted that they learned to love tater tot casserole and after the specials everyone made it for them and they made it a lot when guests came over and they got sick of it. For like 3 years they didn't want to eat it and now they are okay with it and like it.

TBH, It's probably best if they don't eat a ton of tater tot casserole.

Oooh, my mom is a cardiologist. I would love to see her reaction to tatter tot casserole.

I'm watching it now (missed the first 20-30 min), and they are showing Jackson's birth. They edited out the part about the girls making daddy breakfast to go. Or was that with Hannie?

ETA: I don't remember much about the early specials.

I don't think they make the breakfast until later. I love how they show this home church and say that one time there was over 100 people

Jim Bob admitted that after 6 or 7 kids they didn't know if they could handle more kids and people told them to space them out every 2 or 3 years, but of course they did that they would not be as blessed as they are now and wouldn't have all the children

Jesus Christ on a Klondike Bar.

They just showed the part where Jackson was born, and the narrator was talking aobut how Jackson was Michelle's only other c-section baby up until that that point. They showed EVERYTHING from the incision on up when that boy was born. The c-section cut, all the blood and organs, and little Jackson wailing away as they pulled him out of the incision (they did blur out his naughty bits on the table).

And then, get this...Jackson and two of his brothers WERE WATCHING THIS. Cue Jackson sitting between the boys, looking shocked and then mumbling, "Well...I, uh, um, I've never seen that before."

J-Boy on the right: So what was that like, being born?

Jackson: Oh, you know, it was easy. I just did it and got on with life.

J-Boy on the left just sat there with this frozen expression of horror on his face, like, "Dear God, what the hell did I just watch?"

Total blue screen of death. :laughing-rolling:

Damn! I wish I didn't miss that just for their facial expressions. Watching that was probably really effective birth control for those boys, that will haunt them for years to come.

I don't have cable or anything anymore so I can't watch it, but I did see the announcement for it on Facebook. Question, why does Michelle NEVER hold her babies?? Unless she is nursing in her weird contraption, she NEVER seems to hold them. They also seem to babywear a bit (which I think is great, since I do the same) but I've never seen JB or Michelle with a carrier. It's weird to me.. since we have seen all the girls and even Joseph (and maybe Josiah?) wearing the little ones. Michelle just absolutely can't be bothered.

Ok, if JB owned a lot of property, why couldn't he use his own properties to live in before the TTH was ready?

I realize childbirth is a natural and wonderfu, but I don't think any boy wants to see his mother's lady parts. Maybe that's just one conservative trait that I can't let go of.

Looks like they're replaying the specials tomorrow, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. They're the same ones that played today so I'm guessing they'll also have the 'dishing with the Duggars' stuff too. I'm setting my dvr now :D

Jill and Hannie talking head. Flashback to when Michelle found out she was going to have Hannie. Jill is rhapsodizing about how much Hannie was wanted, and how excited they all were to welcome her to the family. Hannie says not one word and just scowls the whole time Jill is speaking. The first and only time Hannie smiles is when Jill tells her how special she is.

Oh, this is rich. Old special involving moving. Each J-kid is supposed to stand in front of the fireplace and state the rules: Never raise a hand in anger, always keep your voice soft, always keep the countenance sweet, etc. Jessa gets in the frame, can't remember any of the rules off the top of her head and keeps flubbing her lines, and then when random J-Boy gets done and it's her turn again, she gets impatient and completely knocks him out of the frame.

Jill and other three oldest daughters reminiscing about how much they'd miss the old house, and Jill says there was a transitional period where they all would need to adjust to leaving because they were all going to miss the old house so much. Jinger just rolls her eyes. Jill really is the biggest kool-aid drinker in the bunch.

Now a flashback to Michelle in labor. Turns out they didn't edit out Jim Bob's he-man breakfast that the older ones made him, they actually hand him a plate as he gets into the car to drive away. It's really early in the morning, I guess at around 4 or 5. Hannie is born at 6:30.

Michelle's keeping it sweet, barely even a peep out of her as she's in labor (on camera at least). When she has a contraction she yells, "Praise God!" and then Hannie pops out a couple of seconds later. Once again, full view of the childbirth. How is that modest? Those kids don't look too thrilled at seeing themselves being given birth to on national television.

Okay, first let me say that my snark is worse than my bite :wink-penguin: since I make plenty of my own mistakes, too, as a human being. But I digress.

Duggar reruns come on twice a day, here (two episodes a.m., 2 episodes afternoon.) This morning, Jill was trying on those dang wedding dresses in NYC, and peddling the sister book. Okay, so...

Jessa's comment about not wanting to try on dresses "until I have a ring on my finger." Hmmm, was that Jessa Smugger saying, "Yoooou, Jill, might do such a thing, but not ME," or was it a scripted comment that reveals something more subtle, -a hint that JILL could try on dresses because SHE was already engaged at the time?

Also, when Jill and Derick got engaged,...he called her while she was on tour to ask her if they could go out when she got home??? He couldn't wait to ask her, when she got home, for that special date that ended with their engagement? It's as if it had already happened, spontaneously (a la apart from filming) and the aired footage was a mere recreation.

Also, on one of the Umpteen Kids and Preggers Again specials, Bulb d' Dim and Mull-ae (ooooh, that mullet was baaaad back in the day) thought it was a good idea to have their kids watch the demolition of the only home some of them had ever known. It disturbed me when one of the little boys somberly asked, "Why are they tearing 'our' house down?" He must have been so confused. I remember crying my eyes out as a small child when my mom simply changed her hair color. It rocked what little identity I had at the time. But to see 'my' house torn down? Even Jill, who was much older, said it was good to be moving into their new home, but still "sad" to see their old home torn down. WHY make them watch? Ugh. :cray-cray:

And a question....Anyone know what the rest of the bumper sign said on "Old Reliable" (or whatever Bulb called that first RV) when they were headed to Big Sandy? It was ingeniously constructed out of paper, markers, and applied with TAPE to the back of the RV, and read, "ATI Bound..." and then had some subwords underneath. Anyon know what they said? (If not, feel free to pen your own bag on that one). :D

So, what missed gems have you picked up on the second time around? Do tell.

Underneath the "ATI Bound":

Please:

Honk

Point

Wave wildly at the driver

Yeah, like that's not a distraction for the driver. Though JB seems to be the only driver, and not wearing a seatbelt.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
