Don't know if it warrants a new thread apart from the wedding one, but I just reckoned since they've been married over a month now lol

 

So Jill's latest post on Instagram road tripping with a few of the Bates kids, I noticed jilly and derick are in matching orange/coral tshirts... What is with the matching??? Does it mean they love each other more than couples who don't match???

 

Would love to know where they're heading though!

 

Do we know if Jill has given up on her midwifery all together?

I looked at the instagram of the picture of them at "Madison and Madelyn's wedding" and someone practically shitting themselves thinking it was a SSM. Leg humper cleared up that it was a "Christ honoring wedding!!~!!!"

As for the matching, I will never understand that. With any fundie or any couple. It's just WEIRD. It reminds me of 6th grade when my BFF and I loved to have matching outfits...

The wedding was in Tennessee and Madison was one of the groomsmen in Derick and Jill's wedding. Jill and Derick either stayed with the Bates family or visited while they were there and now it looks like Lawson, Tori and Trace are riding back to Arkansas with Derick and Jill. Lawson posted a picture of the Arkansas state sign on his Instagram.

Ahahaha I know, I did have a giggle reading the comments about the wedding. But to be fair, Derick could have LGBT friends from school or college saying as he was mainstream (i think), I wonder what Jill would make of it all.

Meh, as for the matching, it might have been an accident. Mr. Snarky and I try not to do that, but sometimes, we don't realize it until later. And then I make him change. LOL

As for Lawson, yup. Hottie. Sadly, I feel dirty saying it since I'm old enough to be his momma.

It's always been my working theory that many of these fundie newlyweds are trying to cram as much "love" and "romance" and cutesy stuff in as possible. Making up for lost time, I guess. It's the first time they've been allowed to really do anything of the things mainstreamers find "Basic" in a relationship, and it's now glorified in their world since they're married, so they're cramming it all in. It explains the excessive kissing in public, nonstop almost sexual handholding, all the extra lovely crap on social media, the matching clothes, etc. (Plus, they can point to how much of a "unit: they are)

I imagine that their "modest" clothes are breakaway, and are ripped off as soon as the bedroom door closes at night to make the humpfest that much more efficient. :dance:

I'm still crossing my fingers for baby news. Although I wouldn't be upset if one should be long in coming. Jill must find the transition from "child" to "wife" no doubt strange. I sincerely hope she is having a blast, because she deserves a nice break from the chaos that is TTH.

How soon do you think they would announce? Personally I'm sure they would save it until right before a new season.

Oh Grogg... Why are some Batelings traveling to Arkansas? Perhaps a courtship and two chaperones? :pray:

I hope Jill has some time to adjust to being a wife, before she becomes a mom. What's wrong with waiting a year before having babies? Once she starts, that'll be her life until she goes through the new season of life.

I don't know that Derick would have LGBT friends even though he most assuredly knows some LGBT people. I know that Oklahoma State is a state school, but I always remember what I read years ago in "The Underground Guide to the College of Your Choice" about Oklahoma State "Stillwaters breed still minds".

I've always found it to be in such bad taste to announce a pregnancy as early as the Duggars do. Miscarriage is a part of life, and it's horrible to go around getting people excited where there's still a decent chance you might kill their hopes. I know, I know, the Duggars are a circus, but still! I agree that Jillick will probably have more sense than that.

But I do suspect they'll pick one letter and name all the children that way. I'm certain several of the Duggarlings will abandon that troupe, I just doubt Jill is going to be one of them.

Jill's pregnancy announcement depends on when the pee stick shows two lines, a plus sign, Jesus. As of now, they could slap together a segment and use it to wrap up the current season of the show which begins airing in a month. If it's closer to the end of the run of the season (mid-end of October depending on how many episodes, and how many back-to-back half hours they run), they'll probably use GMA/Today Show since the next season won't air until around March (unless ratings are blockbuster and they decide to run during Feb Sweeps...which hasn't happened before due to lower ratings). If by some miracle she doesn't become pregnant until January or thereabouts, they'll likely announce early and work in pregnancy plots at the end of that season. If she becomes pregnant sooner (and I think she will), that season wlll merely be Jill's Pregnancy.

So, her announcement really isn't within her control. TLC and/or the Duggar D&P Show (Boob) will dictate when and how the announcement is made to make the most money.

I take it that Jill doesn't mind that Derick went (because he is a man and can "better handle" the real world), but I wonder what her opinions are on a well-respected Christian woman having attended? Would she be jealous, disapproving, or neutral?

I would have said before that I think she would be jealous, because she was in training to be a midwife but now that it seems to be fading I'm not sure how Jill would judge it. I think she might be neutral.
