I have always been bothered that the Duggars don't teach more personal responsibility.

Jim Bob and Michelle should be cleaning their own room, and each kid should clean their own area, make their own bed and do their own laundry(maybe once a week take your laundry bag down and wash it your self). There are maybe 2-3 kids left that would need help.

It is starting to look weird that so many adults in the house can't make their own bed or wash their pants!

I watched all the early Duggar re-runs the other day. Can you imagine Jessa (or any of them - but she seems the most princessy to me) still wearing those dresses? Did anyone else think it funny how none of the older girls listed "oh and being Mommy" as part of their jurisdictions?

Not to mention all the unholy stains Jana has probably discovered on the parental bedding. :ew:

I'll admit to handling the majority of the laundry in my house because I need things sorted, washed, folded, and put away in a certain manner, and that won't happen if I leave it up to the headship. Things would be scattered all over the house and wouldn't fit in cabinets and closets. But if I had 2 or more children to worry about, each child would be responsible for his or her own laundry as soon they were old enough to handle the chore. There's no reason any J'Slave (or grandma) should have to be chained to the laundry room indefinitely, and those ridiculous boys need to pitch in more.

Having a penis shouldn't exempt you from scrubbing out your own filthy underpants.

I think if Jessa was faced with someone wearing dresses that awful, she would probably make snarky comments to Jinger about how ugly the dresses are.

I think if Michelle and Jimbob tried to make the girls wear those ugly dresses they would have a lot of rebellion on their hands.

If I was one of the Jslaves, I would get revenge on the boys who "can't" do their own laundry by "accidentally" dying some of their clothes pink.

Here's a link to the 1st part of the special.

At about 5:10, they describe the "buddy system". Does anyone else hear the lack of interest in Michelle's voice for her children that are weaned. I don't hear any love or care in her voice for HER children. She sounds like a worker in a factory. I'm done with my job, time to pass these parts, I mean kids, on to the next person. Yikes!!! :evil-eye:

"Juristiction" is Duggar speach that means: girls, do all the work that J'Chelle or Boob should be doing. Such as raising the small children.

Don't get me wrong, I think kids should help with the household chores.

But the Duggar don't stop there. They give their girls the work load and the responsibilities of adults as young teenagers. That's highly irresponsible.

It's funny how they expect their girls to raise their smaller siblings from a very young age, yet they still treat them like small children when it comes to personal freedom, even when the girls are grown-ups.

An ATI person (Marci Dauer) posted these on her FB in July 2013 (she went to their house and took a bunch of pictures and has an entire album of 191 pictures dedicated to it on FB). Looks like not all the kids have them these days? Or Marci only took a pic of one chart.

Fascinating! So everyone from Joseph upwards is not on the list. BUT, I guess this just means the oldest ones have internalised their slavery sufficiently not to need endless reminders about what they're meant to be doing. I doubt Jana needs to be told "raise your mother's children as if they are your own" for example.

Jordyn and Josie, enjoy what remains of your childhood - it's over for Jenny ...

Has anyone else checked out Marci's FB pics? Interesting and revealing ...

Marci herself doesn't seem to know the Duggars very well, and can't be bothered to find out information such as their names. We get Jana captioned as Jill, "I don't know this little guy's name but it starts with a J" etc.

Also - Grandma's room opens directly OFF THE LAUNDRY!!!! Isn't that handy? She can just roll out of bed and get straight to work in the morning!

Here it is -

I just hope that the Duggars don't iron their clothes, but "only" wash and dry them. Cause using the washing machines and clothes driers a few times a day is manageable. But if she has to iron all the clothes, then she is really stuck inside this room all day.

Also, I think it's simply atrocious from Boob that he allows that not only his adult daughters but his own mother are exploited like that!

Those charts are pretty interesting, cool to see that the boys are also assigned to cleaning and things like that.

That Facebook album seems to put more light on the home church thing, looks like there are plenty of non-family friends around, if this wasn't some sort of special occasion. She talks about "after church", which makes it seem like a fairly common thing. 3 hours and 45 minutes of school every day seems like very little, though… I guess homeschooling can be more effective, but it's not like they have one or two kids. I'd also wager that "exercise & workout" doubles as play time, which I don't begrudge them, if that's the schedule they stick to on non-filming days.

Weird, though:

"This family has five beautiful daughters. They shared how God is working in their lives and they moved to be near the Duggars. Grandmom Duggar moved out of her home to let this family live there!"

It seems kind of creepy in general to just walk around and photograph someone's house that much, but then again, I just looked through a bunch of the pictures, so who am I to say.

Wtf. The fb is public. Now I wanna know more about this family.. Didn't the duggars say they had Gma move in when Gpa was sick and they asked her to stay so she won't be lonely (aka: do laundry)

About those jurisdiction sheets: yes, it's good that the boys also have to do some work. They have to, otherwise the housework wouldn't be doable for the rest, it would simply be too much.

BUT: if you look at those sheets, the chores on them are pretty normal for kids a their age. Yes, they might be a bit more than an average kid has to do, but still manageable. The thing is: these jurisdiction sheets only show about 10% or even less of the real housework and child raising, that has to be done. The rest of the work, like cooking, teaching stuff at home-school, organizing things, and last but not least looking after and raising and being there for the little kids 24 hours a day is not on the list. And that's the work the older kids (or should I say girls) have to do.

Interesting that Momma and Daddy's room isn't on this jurisdiction chart.

They probably got a lot of flack from it when it first came out that their children were cleaning their room.

So the stalker-ish mother in a family claims to be a fan, moves close to the Duggars so she could be near them, they let her into their house where she then proceeds to photograph everything they own so she can put up pictures of it on the internet, and the Duggars are completely fine with this?

For a family that claims to be all about modesty, these people have absolutely no personal boundaries. This is the kind of mentality that could cause a nightmare scenario, one involving kidnap, rape or murder.

Two different women. The woman taking the pictures is Marci Dauer, someone that they know from ATI. The pictures are from Marci's facebook. She is the woman who has a daughter married to Brandon Keilen's (Michael Bates's courtship partner) brother. The woman in the picture is the woman who apparently packed up and moved just to be near the Duggars -- and somehow ended up in Grandma Duggar's house. This woman may win Leghumper of the Decade.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
