In both episodes, I did spy with my little eye a map of Nepal on the wall beside Jill's bed. By that time on the show, we are not suppose to know anything about Derick. Which it really makes me think that TLC messed up the timeline a bit to make us think Jessa was the first to court.

Well technically Jill wasn't courting Derick. They claim she was getting to know him and maybe by the time Jessa's courtship was announced...Jill already had the secret hots for Derick. Remember when they were on the Today's Show, and were asked if there were other courtships? The younger girls kind of let it slip out for Jill, but not many people paid any attention to that. Then a few weeks later a mysterious dude is spotted in a pic with Jill, leaning VERY close to him. Not long after that the couple is headline news ALL over the media. I don't think JB or TLC could have predicted that this relationship would move SO quickly. Heck, even I am stunned that Jill is the 1st Duggar girl to marry.

I still think the leak was intentional. It was right after the flea market. People saw Ben and Jessa together, and Jedidiah even told me there was another person from Hot Springs at the flea market, his name was Ben Seewald. Then he mumbled something I don't remember. At the time, I thought nothing of it. Its entirely possible someone put two and two together at the flea market and so they had to release it. Once they released the info about Ben, thats when I realized thats who Jedidiah was talking about.

Honestly, I think having Ben at the flea market before they were ready to announce the courtship was a dumb move. Especially at the same booth as Jessa.

The reason Ben and Jessa need a chaperone is that Jim Bob and Michelle can't be sure that they will stop themselves from giving into their physical desires for each other if they're alone. There have been plenty of kids raised in really religious homes who have been told that a million times that pre-martial sex is a sin, but the kid had pre-martial sex anyway. The only way for JB & M to stop Jessa and Ben from having pre-martial sex is to make them always have a chaperone when they're together.

Ugh TLC "reality" combined with Duggar hypocrisy add up to some really stinky shit. Naturally there's a lag between shooting and broadcasting, but the whole "let's tell the story this way because X" is super gross on both parties' parts. If the Ben Bob leak fucked up their agenda storyline, they should have just ignored it.

Because as much as they probably wouldn't admit it, it is an honour thing. If one of the Duggar kids bucked the system and fucked before marriage, or went against Ma and Pa on anything, the family would lose their street cred with the other fundies. Jim Bob is the supreme ruler of his family and they have built a business out of the kids being ~perfect~ and obedient due to their superior religious beliefs. If one of the kids stepped out of line Boob and Michelle would probably lose their position because Boob 'owns' his kids.

This whole idea of honour tied up in the genitals of children is fucking gross.

Gee, if one of theduggar kids rebel that means they have a mind of their own. I wish one of them would really break the rules. Kiss and hold hands before marriage with the opposite sex. I'm looking at the larger picture here. I think it's a huge control issue, and not over Jessa and Ben. (Ben may want her, but he knows better and wouldn't do anything before marriage) If they let one older kid get away with anything, then it'll steam roll and by the time they get to the youngest ones, in their mind, Hannie and Jennie will be headliners at a Vegas strip joint.

Why are they taking a 10yo on a mission trip?? He can't sit still to learn a song he was probably taught from birth to sing but they think he can survive the plane ride? Much less the actual "mission"??

And what kind of mission trip spans three countries in 12 days? What are they doing - sitting in "churched" and praying while handing out some food from the soup kitchen and then writing about how heartbreaking it is and how these people are happy with their shit lives bc they have Jesus in their hearts?? That's not a mission trip. That's a PR stunt. I wouldn't be surprised if Jackson's immaturity is the exact reason he's going. He's antics will keep Jessa and Ben so preoccupied and exhausted that if even if they had the time and willingness to do anything, they wouldn't have the energy.
