Just watched the 15 KAC special, where Jim Bob said they were so happy to purchase 20 acres, because each of the kids would be able to build a house on the land if they wanted to. Josh and Anna didn't, and it looks like neither are Jill and Derick. Of course, it could well be that they have to have cash to do so (not debt), but the way it appears, the record is 0 for 2 so far. Any thoughts on who will take JB up on his offer first?

JD maybe. He seems like he'd be okay living there but in his own house.

I do wonder who had been staying in the guest house. I also wonder why they haven't shown it in the show.

Yes, JD is a good bet. And didn't even realize they had a guest house. I always pictured the Bates family sleeping inside that big commercial building, though, at the front of their property. :cracking-up:

Its the kitten house form last season. I think in the "Jill engagement" thread there is a ton of discussion and pics on it. Its owned by the Duggar Trust.

I think when Mullet and Dim Bulb get older we might see some of them going back home to live. I do wonder who will get the TTH eventually....

I agree I don't think they've ever shown the guest house in an episode. Could some of the boys be staying in there regularly?

I wonder if JD is already living in the guest house. You don't see him around the main house much in the show. Of course, he could just be more camera shy like Jana.

You would hope Jana, Jill, or JD that kept odd hours with midwife calls or towing calls could have used the guest house for sleep or quiet but I doubt it.

As long as the money is rolling in and they are getting big bucks to sell wedding details, I don't see any of the older ones wanting to stay and build on the land. I think if we see any of them it will be a howler that doesn't have great job prospects so Jim Bob will say he is staying on to help maintain the property.

I see that happening, I just hope that whoever lives there makes them be endless laundry slaves. You know it would be a way of honoring Grandma Duggar who will be passed on by that point. I think the child with the biggest family will inherit the TTH.

I'm guessing J&A get the TTH because he's the first born son, and they've got a head start on babymaking against all the other adult Duggarlings. Still, what if by the time the TTH is available, another Duggar couple has beaten them for most grandbabies? Maybe once they have a few GrandDuggar families of 10+ kids and counting, some of them will opt to build TTH clones on the 20 acres rather than trying to find existing homes that are big enough.

The TTH will eventually become the Duggarville Community Center, or if enough of the kids build there and have families, Duggarville Christian School.

I'm pretty sure that Josh and Anna are going to wind up back there at some point with their brood. Josh's fake position with the Family Research Council won't last forever, and he isn't qualified to do any job that Jim Bob doesn't hand to him, so the Smuggar family will definitely be back.

Well, if some of these other fundie families are are any indication he's very lucky to have a dad who can give him a job and place to stay.

My money's on JD staying there. That kid just doesn't seem to have any get-up-and-go in him. Josh in his own way escaped; now he's head of household and makes most of his own decisions. If Jana doesn't get married (I hope she does) I could see JD wanting to buy a house with her and live as a platonic couple. :lol:

Wasn't that the thing 100 years ago? The bachelor brother living with the spinster sister who cooks and keeps house? I suppose I would rather live with one of my brothers than be a j slave for the rest of my life.
