Raquel's "I'm not looking for a specific bf"

merrily

Recommended Posts

This is coming from the SAHD who had multiple blogposts, a wishlist, an askfm and various tweets on her ideal man:

I don’t think you can ever be specific when it comes to people. People aren’t specific. They’re unique and crazy and wild and beautiful. And their souls are all completely different from the next.

When you think about someone, most of the time it’s not about anything in particular. You think on what you know about them, what you like about them, what makes them intimidating and interesting and special.

And knowing a person, truly knowing them, is a daunting challenge. But to me, ‘daunting’ is not only a challenge, it’s a mystery. It’s something that frightens, yet fascinates and excites me all at the same time. Like the rush you get while climbing a steep hill to reach the top and catch the last glimpses of the sun as it sets over the horizon. The climb is worth it, yet if you look over your shoulder, the height can scare you. But nothing can stop you from reaching the top for the prize, the goal.

I love challenges. And most of the people I have met who were ‘intimidating’ to most were ‘intriguing’ to me. It made me want to talk to them and learn about them. Their reservedness made them more noticeable to me.

The only thing that you can be specific about in a person is how uniquely different they are. Don’t try to understand someone on your level. They won’t match up to everything you are and everything you want. They’re perfect in their own way. Their specificity is specifically about who they are.

Of course Raquel, you aren't looking for a guy to have blue eyed kids and to dance in the rain with you.

So, basically, she's admitting that she's throwing herself at anything with a Y chromosome then?

OMG guys! She is sooo much more special than everyone else. See while the rest of us get intimidated by some people, she finds them intriguing.

So, has she raised money for her "mission trip". Wasn't she supposed to leave this month?

She wants all the boyfriends. She seems perplexed that guys aren't camped outside her door, waiting for her to bestow her super-special attention on them.

This post cracks me up because she is trying to sound pretentious but all the mediocre cliches make it awkward.

Uhh...as I remember it, Raquel has one of the most extensive and detailed (and unrealistic) lists of requirements in a bf that I've ever seen, including wanting to slap a guy and dance in the rain with him :? It doesn't get much more specific than that.

I knew Raquel was desperate. Under all these specific standards she mentioned for what she wanted in a guy, she actually just wants someone with both a penis and a pulse to be interested in her.

I feel for her in a way, I worry that she is going to jump into marrying the first guy she meets who doesn't run away screaming, and that guy might be abusive. She seems very naïve and vulnerable to being abused because she is so desperate, underneath all this egotism, I think she is really lonely and desperate for someone to give her attention.

Who is Raquel? How old is she? Does she have a blog?

The name of her blog is God's Daughter. She used to have on there that the words she wrote were straight from God so you weren't disagreeing with her, you were disagreeing with God. She is 19. She is less fundie and more lazy for Jesus. She is an abolitionists who supports the Confederacy, she goes on about ending slavery in the modern day but no way in hell is she giving up her slave created chocolate and coffee, she is a writer, singer, model, photographer, and will share her story about sexting three guys. She expected to be married and pregnant by now, but scare off all men who come near her. One of her life goals is to slap a guy in the face. God once gave her a horse. She neglected it.

She sounds positively adorable. At least she's young enough that she might possibly learn enough things to keep from completely screwing up her life for all time.

THE most perfect description of Raquel. Love it!

Can we make "Lazy for Jesus" a user flair? Please?

You couldn't make me be 19 again for all the tea in China, but I gotta admit that one thing I do miss about being that age is the absolute conviction that all my ideas were really novel and exciting. I mean, duh, everybody who is both sane and over about 25 realizes that you do not need to have a man who checks every little ticky box on your ideal man list in order to be happy with him. But DAMN if that thought isn't meaningful to you when you first have it.

This is why I had a frequently-updated livejournal when I was 19 and now in my thirties delete most of my facebook comments before hitting "post":)

I spend a lot of time on a local college campus and read the student newspaper and every time I read their opinion articles (a recent one had someone pointing out to us that Jesus was probably not white and therefore we should all examine our assumptions) I keep going "AWWWW. It thinks this is new AWWWW."

Fun fact: The term "abolitionist," as used by certain flavors of Christians[tm][/tm], is used to mean "anti-abortion." I don't know why--perhaps because they aim to abolish abortion?

Oh, and she used to have the tag "Deus Filia" on her blog, and said it means "God's Daughter." I messaged her and told her it means "God Daughter," and that what she was looking for was "Filia Dei" (sez this Latin-educated public school graduate). She said something noncommittal, and a few months later "Deus Filia" went away.

(Somewhere there's another fundie blog called "Paratus Familia," because the author couldn't be arsed to learn enough Latin to know that "Prepared Family"="Familia Parata."

Actually, in Raquel's case she uses abolitionists as in she wants to abolish modern day slavery. She had a whole "charity" for her cause, but when she attempted to host a concert and nobody showed up and she couldn't get any famous people to play at it she quickly gave it up. She said she was too busy to run it and gave it to another person.

Raquel is always looking for the quickest and easiest way to fame and attention and she thought she could get it through being an abolitionists. When that didn't happen she was over it. She still calls herself an abolitionists, but now all she does it posts pictures of herself with a red x on her hand.

People attempted to point out the hypocrisy of supporting slavery in the past while claiming she is trying to abolish modern slavery but she pretty much stuck her fingers in her ears and went 'LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! Didn't the Southern ladies have such pretty dresses back then?"

She is anti-abortion too. But she just calls that being pro-life. She deleted her anti-abortion story "Life's Choices." I think even she eventually realized how horrible it was.

Oh, and I left out the most important part about Raquel. She once wrote a story with a magic penis ferret. She has since deleted it. But copies might be floating around FJ still. It was an amazing story.

ETA:

Raquel is going to audition for American Idol? Or at least she claims she is. She is going to sing Timber by Pitt Bull and Keisha. She is for sure not even pretending to be fundie anymore. She just uses Jesus as an excuse for her doing nothing with her life. Jesus doesn't want her to go to college, get a job, volunteer or do anything but take selfies.

Where's Simon when you need him? I mean, she is alright, but compare to the other people she's going to be up against

Aww, did she write "Life's Choices"? I forgot that was her. Suffice to say creative writing is not one of her natural talents either.

Not a good idea for someone who cant handle criticism. She will probably cry when people aren't super amazed by her, then whine about how they are so mean to her and jealous of her amazing talent. I think she is probably expecting to sing, and have all the judges amazed by her beauty and talent, and go on to be a big superstar. But in reality, she probably doesn't have what it takes to even make it on TV, let alone win. She isn't terrible, but she isn't amazing either, and average isn't good enough.

The judges are more likely to listen to her if she doesnt sing a popular song. Especially if said popular song is one they hear all day every day (I imagine they are already tired of Frozen songs)

It's apparently supposed to be July 7-18.

god-sdaughter.blogspot.com/2013/11/peru-aqui-vengo-announcement.html

It says she had to raise the cost ($2000...which seems low, tbh) by May 1, but she hasn't mentioned anything about the trip on the blog lately. I'm not sure if it's come up on her Insta or Twitter.

2 grand might be low, but I have been on mission trips where the cost was only $100, so 2 grand is not out of the realm of possibility.

A local church had a missions trip to Uganda, and if you wanted to go it cost 2000 dollars. But they also held fundraisers so that those who really wanted to go but couldn't afford it could go.
