Another one bites the dust- Daniel Lockwood MERGE

I'm a bit torn on Jaynee. On one hand, I resent her for peddling patriarchal/quiverfull koolaid in rural Mexico. It's at best useless and at worst predatory.

On the other hand, I can't even imagine how exhausted she must be. Even without the kids, if I were married to a manipulative louse who constantly made me feel like I'm a horrible sinner for feeling the slightest bit of dissatisfaction, I might be shutting down and spending whatever energy I had on justifying to myself that what I'm doing with my life is wonderful and has meaning. But she's also been almost continuously pregnant, single-handedly caring for and homeschooling a dozen small children, isolated with little help and few resources, in a foreign country where she barely speaks the language. (And now she's lost even her family's claim to respectability). I can't entirely blame her if she's got no energy left for anything except plowing ahead with metaphorical blinders on. She seems like a genuinely warm person who loves her children. I wish she had better options. Or at least a break.

Talked to one of Dans brothers at church a couple months back. I didnt want to believe what he told me. He told me. I did not even ask. He is angry and i guess they are all fed up with Dan. I heard it again from someone else not in the family last week. So i know why Dan was taken off the mission field.

When I think of Jaynee staying with him and protecting this monster instead of her own children-it makes me physically ill.

Dan has always had an issue with pornography-I think most ppl know that here. It is known around town anyway. He has escalated in his perverted ways. I dont know all the details but it involved his female children. He spies on them while they are bathing or dressing. That is what is known but his brother wondered if it is more than that. Who sees their own child that way!!?? The police were called by our pastor and from what i was told, nothing is coming of it. The police lack proof other than Dans own admission. Doesnt make any sense to me.

i dont have any proff other than to relay what his brother told me, but at least you all can stop wondering. I think this is far worse than what i originally thought had happened. Makes me very sad and sick at the same time. Jaynee needs to leave. Her family would help her. If I ever run into one of her sisters again i will ask. Although something tells me that her family does not know any details either. The brother hinted at that. I dont come on here to merely gossip. I hope that the truth will dispell the rumors. The Jaynee I knew was a good person and would have NEVER stood for this. He has done a # on her head thats for sure.

If someone admitted to police that they were inappropriate with their daughters, that would be enough to move forward. If the authorities haven't done anything, that suggests there hasn't been a crime. Of course there could be a quiet investigation in progress.

You seem to view pornography as a gateway into deeper 'perversions.' Many people look at (legal, 18+) porn as part of their healthy, normal sex lives, myself included. Daniel could have been discovered looking at porn in Mexico and it cost him his mission. That seems reasonable for his sending church to have done.

Please understand that I'm not trying to defend a child molester; I truly hope that none of the children in that home have been harmed. Looking at child pornography is illegal. Looking at 18+ pornography is not, but it would certainly cause shame and disgrace in a religious communitiy.

Years ago Dan was sent home from our church because he was discovered to have a porn issue. They stayed here in the states for months before our pastor decided that he was okay to return to the mission field. This is something different. I believe his brother. When I questioned his brother about the police involvement he said it was sort of like if someone walked into a police station and said I killed someone. They wont arrest you without evidence-like a witness or a body. You cant self incriminate or something like that. I am not sure of the details. I never said he molested any of them. I agree with halcionne, this doesn't make sense. While he does have the right against self-incrimination and they can't force him to testify against himself, if he made a statement to the police it can be used against him in a court of law.

Then what are you saying. If people's inferences are worse than the reality of what you're being vague about, maybe you should be more clear. Or just be quiet.

There is a MASSIVE difference between viewing pornography that is made by consenting adults and spying on ones children as they dress or bathe. I find it truly disturbing that you don't grasp that.

I actually do consider a father who is doing this as a form of molestation. And as someone who is married to someone who spent a decade putting child pornographers in jail there is a big fucking difference between the pathology of that and a normal interest in porn.

Not sure exactly how I completely missed these posts in april....I have an FJ addiction and read daily, although I may have been out of town ranch sitting for my brother and SiL, who have the slowest, worst internet connection evah.

Today I checked jaynee's fb page just to see how they are getting along. Jaynee is still very much in love with 'her man.' Pics look sweet and normal. Married 20 (?) years and just so in love! She went on an ice cream date with 'her man'.

I just hope the story told by the pics is the true story.

One kid is off to college (don't know if he is coming home for the summer), next oldest son is working at Mickey D's.

Other kids are selling some kind of discount card to make money to go to bible camp.

Reading over the previous few pages, it seems that porn was the cause of Daniel's dismissal from the mission field, is that correct? What I'm wondering about is how the sending entity supervising the mission discovered this and who ratted him out? Based on Jaynee's response at the time when they had to leave Mexico (profound grief) and for months afterward, it seems like [whatever it was] would have been the first time she encountered it -- she seemed truly taken by surprise and just destroyed emotionally.

I don't think it was ever determined why Daniel was pulled from the mission field. I still think he had an affair or fathered an illegitimate child, but that's just my opinion.

What I'd like to know is how they are affording to send 2 kids to college? Certainly their income can't be much. Jaynee hasn't blogged since April 2015 and she's not ever going to talk about anything negative going on in their lives, so all we can do is speculate. She sure does want to make sure everyone knows she loves that worm of a husband of hers, though. I still can't figure that one out.

I just thought of them today and was wondering and did the same thing you did- go out to f/b to see what is up. She has their wedding picture up with the caption - Twenty years- July 22, 1995.

I am glad they let their kids work at normal HS jobs. Majority of the families on here need their teenage kids to work and help pay for themselves. (I paid for my own clothes over the $100 my mom gave me for back-to-school shopping.) Plus if the kids are to go to school they will need the money. I am glad to see on Daniel's f/b says he is employed at SolarDay and was at Top Hat Energy Inc. His f/b is less active. The oldest (?) boy (Elijah Lockwood) has a f/b page too but nothing really to see there. Same with Timothy's (2nd boy?) facebook page.

I noticed a friend of Jayne on facebook - Jeremiah and Kelly Lockwood - they are missionaries too. Could it be Daniel's brother? They have a closed blog lockwoodschurchplant.blogspot.com and this one is open but not updated in 5 years: shastalakebaptistchurch.blogspot.com/

Another sister-in-law (?) Deborah is mom to 11 kids with Joel, who I assume is Daniel's brother-could be cousin. But several of the Lockwoods connected with Jayne are "normal" looking- Kayleen for example has a picture of great, great grandma with a Corona while she is seated on her walker seat. :lol:

Jaynee and Daniel kids may end up ok if they keep having opportunities like other teenage kids and have extended family that are not missionaries. Anyway, I hope Jaynee actually gets to deal with the issue that made them leave Mexico and not sweep it under the rug.

I think about sweet Jaynee periodically by visiting her fb page. She seems happy. She and Daniel seem to be doing well (I really hope so because she will never leave him).   I was noticing kids in the background of some of her pics.  In one, a boy is setting the table or maybe filling glasses with juice.   In another, a boy is vacuuming.  I have a sense that all the kids pitch in with chores, and hopefully Jaynee and Daniel are not obsessed with gender roles.  Plus, I think there are only two girls in that family of 12 kids. 

The oldest kid is in bible college in North Dakota.  I thought the second one was going to bible college as well but that isn't clear.
