*reads criticism about the duggars*

"I see where you're coming from, but *insert blind defense of this happy happy wonderful family here*"

 :shhh:

Then there's the "They said that they are NOT quiverfull! They said that they are NOT Gothardites"

Even though their actions say that they pretty much are what with their support of ATI and their overly large family.

We need more people like them. Maybe there wouldn't be so many people on food stamps or teen pregnancies.

Their kids will never come home pregnant and not married, use drugs, or sleep around

Maybe if other people followed the Duggars there wouldn't be anymore divorces or heartbreak

Their kids are so well behaved.

These are the people I want my kids to loot at as role models :naughty:

Maybe if more people stop sleeping around and giving away their hearts to everyone they come in contact with their would be less stds and less divorces.

Some people can't even handle one or two kids and are on government assistance, the Duggars handle 19 and live debt free

"I admire everything about the Duggars, and I want my kids to practice the courtship model because it's the only way not to lose pieces of your heart and be happy in marriage!!!111!!!!11! Eleventy!!!

It completely drives me insane, and also the bit about the Duggars being completely debt free. That one always seems to be the first line of defense for leghumpers.

JimBob and Michelle spend more time with their children than parents with only two children!

What's the recipe for [chickenetti/BBQ tuna/tater tot casserole/other culinary monstrosity]?

I admire their family values!

They do so much good for the community!

Can you come visit my church?

"They're so well behaved!" i wish that one of the kids would get a video camera and just shoot a normal old day. With that many boys it's got to get wild n crazy. :D

J'Chelle is such a loving mother to all of her kids. I want to be just like them! Who would want to be like a cult?

They are all so talented.

It is so heartwarming to see a family that prays together.

They are always so polite and well dressed, not like most trashy teenagers.

It is amazing that they have such a huge family but they are debt-free. Everybody in America uses credit cards too much, but the Duggars are so thrifty and they only buy used.

"Michelle is such a good mother."

"The kids are so well-behaved." Compared to which hellions?

"They support themselves completely and don't get any welfare." Maybe now.

"Josh owned a home and a business when he was only twenty. He didn't get anything handed to him." No, he didn't, and yes, he did.

"The Duggars are so modest!!!11!" Constantly talking about your sex lives and flaunting same in front of your CHILDREN doesn't equal modesty in my book. Remember when Dim Bob proudly announced to Smuggar and Anna that Josie was probably conceived on Father's Day? Totally not modest. Graphic hand sex? Totally not modest. Asking your wife while filming if she wants to start working on number eighteen? Totally not modest. (That was the Moving In special.) And so on.

I think "It's so nice to see a family in today's world with such well behaved children" and "they spend more time with their kids then most parents" take the cake. Another pet peeve is people whose lifestyle the Duggars would not approve of at all actually defending them. I mean seriously do they understand the Duggars political views at all?

It also annoys me when an episode airs and people comment on it as if the event just happened, like they don't understand that reality TV footage is filmed months in advance.

these ones really piss me off, because, if you can only praise someone by insulting everyone else, it says something about both you and the people you're praising.

I made a snarky comment on an uploaded 19kac episode on YouTube recently (the final Nepal episode) about Jill & Derrick holding hands at the end. I exclaimed surprise but then decided those were stunt hands so no harm done :D . The comment I received back was "Normally, I don't like it when people mock the Duggars values. But that was funny!".

Really? You take Duggar values mocking to heart? Isn't the entire Duggar lifestyle about crushing everybody's free will and creating faith robots?

'I would rather see lovely, smart, talented, well-behaved, happy, charitable, God-loving, perfect-in-every-way Duggar children, than Kardashian and Miley Cyrus slutty, drug-addicted, selfish, evil, juvenile delinquent Satan spawn, any day!'.

Of course even if those stereotypical suppositions were true, certainly there could never be a middle ground. Only the two pretend extremes.

Yes! Pretend, paid-to-be-on-camera media personalities with very few people in real life going to either extreme.

Oh the "well-behaved" one gets me too. They aren't well-behaved. They are robots, beat into damn submission or else their little robot hearts would get turned off and the fear of God put into them.

and half the time those little kids aren't even close to well-behaved... like the entire time they were in little rock with josie in hospital, those kids were wild. oh my god. they were in that beautiful house with the gorgeous wooden floors and i'd hate to see how scratched up the floors were after the duggars left.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

You know what I hate most about subtle racism? The gaslighting. Stop cosplaying as a nice person and say it with your chest.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
