Prim is after a character in The Hunger Games better than Katniss. And it is pretty for a girl.

The rest I have no words for. You are sticking your kid with a lifetime of problems.

Holy shit those are some awful names.

Jceion is supposed to be pronounced as Jason isn't it? Why don't they just keep to Jason, cause that's how everyone is going to hear it and spell it anyway.

Rarity is a My Little Pony, and Prim is from the Hunger Games (and Prim actually is a nickname, her full name is Primrose).

Zxayden? Seriously? Why does their baby's name need a silent X. And here I was thinking Zayden and Xayden were stupid names.

Psalms and Gospel were probably fundies.

I know I'm a freak, but I kind of like Charlemagne.

History nerd here.

Same here! And it even works as a girl's name, haha.

pistol might as well name her vagina since thats what it is in the plant world.

Hopefully, most kids will not figure that one out till 5th grade or longer lol. Btw , I also like the name Charlemagne but some of the others are :?

That's it--I'm naming my little one Kinzington Prezlee. Look for us on "Toddlers and Tiaras" in about five years.

Holy crap, 63 girls born last year were named Vanellope? I wouldn't have thought Wreck-It Ralph had that much influence over the past year. Certainly not in the way I expect the name Elsa to skyrocket throughout 2014. I must confess I find the name cute though (it rhymes with Penelope for anyone who hasn't seen the movie) but maybe better for a dog than a human child.

Rarity is not good but certainly better than naming your kid Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie (which I read at least one couple actually DID) or Fluttershy.

Temprince is the name of the main character in the TV show Bones, except it's spelled Temperance. I suspect that's what those parents were going for only they didn't realize the correct spelling of that name. But with all the Avaas and Rydders and other kreaytive names out there, fuck spelling, am I right?

I can understand parents not wanting to name their children something super trendy and popular. I have one of the most common names for women of my generation-Jennifer. But some of these names look like a bunch of Scrabble tiles were thrown into the air and the parents named their kid with whatever tiles landed.

Jceion?

Coming from a generation when unique names were much less...mainstream, my inner child weeps for many of these children.

I had a teacher in the 6th grade ask me if my parents put all the letters of the alphabet in a hat, pulled 5 out and arranged them until they made a word. I was used to people making fun of my name by the 6th grade, but not teachers...in front of the entire class. It was not a pleasant experience.

The teacher doesn't really remember doing it, but I recall it vividly (we reconnected on facebook recently and he apologized. He turned out to be one of my favorite teachers, but I still haven't forgotten how that made me feel on the first day in his class).

The one that gets to me is who the FUCK would name their daughter after one of the most war-torn countries the world has ever known? Sierra Leone. Seriously. Were those parents dropped on their heads? Did they lose bets? After their families being held ransom pending naming their DAUGHTERS after that country?

Sometimes I think the US needs to start allowing registrars the right to say FUCK NO to some first names, and allow parents to petition the courts. A truly fucked up name can harm kids. If you wanted to name your kid Dick Wad right now, you could. Who would say that's not abuse?

My kid has been pushing to name the new kid bunny or Pinky Pie, kid will not win this time, sorry tank kid.

I believe Jceion is supposed to be a variant of Jayceon, which I am surprised isn't on this list seeing as it's drawn the most attention for being the fastest growing name.

Vanellope is the name of the "glitch" from Wreck It Ralph

Happiness has been used since the Puritan days. It's one of the better virtue names (that era also gave us gems like Beawares, Aid-on-High, Experience, Submit, Freelove, Flie-Fornication, Helpless, No-Merit, and Fear).

Prim really isn't that bad. Prim had history both as a nickname for Primrose and a variant of Prima (an Italian girl name with Latin origins). It either means "first born," "first," or "first rose."

Rarity, as someone stated, is from MLP. And she's best pony. :p

Ava is just a variant of Avaa.

Prezlee is a variant of Presley, which had been a trending name for a few years

Sierraleone is a contraction of Sierra Leone, a country in West Africa. No worse than naming your child Ireland or Dakota.

Temprince is a variant of Temperance, which is also a Puritan virtue name.

Rydder is a variant of Ryder, which has been trending for a while. And it picks up steam any time people are reminded of Ryder Strong. Girl Meets World was announced in 2013, and it did a good job of reminding people of the name.

Lloyal is another variant of a Puritan virtue name.

Xzaiden is one of the Aidan names. And people get stupid with those. Also, Xz- names are popular among parents who want to be "unique" while using common names (like Xzander or Xzavier).

Subbed primary last week. There was a kindergartener named "Breacken". Pronounced "break in".

Tuf is the dollar store brand of abrasive kitchen sponge I buy.

I went to Catholic school and our names are pretty boring next to "Xxandyer" and "Jceion". My best friend in middle school used to make lists of her fav baby names and they mostly consisted of popular soap opera characters like Bo and Hope. That was considered pretty wild.

Has no one named a baby " Puma"? I am full of disappointment.

I work for a company that does school individual pictures. We get class lists directly from the school and really - some of those names!! I kept a list to share with my husband each night. There were that many that were so snark-worthy.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
