It's the 19KAC/Duggar Drinking Game!

If anyone's already done this, I apologize.

We had a bunch of previous episodes on the DVR, so I waded through them last night. I don't know how the recapper does it; it's all I can do to watch them sober. "19KAC" cries out for a drinking game! I'm sorry I only have one liver to sacrifice in this effort.

Take a shot every time you hear the following:

NEAT

NICE

"season of life"

"and I delivered them all"

courtship

dating with a purpose

pop-up factoid, such as "Jim Bob goes through three cans of hairspray a month".

thinly veiled reference to Gothard, ATI, ALERT, JTTH, "Wisdom Booklets", "character traits"

jurisdictions

purity

"Our first kiss was at the altar."

Jim Bob says something stupid, hurtful to someone else, or makes any reference to his and Michelle's sex life

Two shots:

Grandma is seen in the laundry room

Yet another ignored or abandoned pet is shown on-camera

The camera shot isn't close enough to verify that one of the eight Duggar children has actually graduated from high school, otherwise known as the SOTDRT.

Chug the bottle

"We're working on number 20!"

Have some suggestions, besides booking a bed at Betty Ford? Let's hear them!

Ha, this will be fun!

"Little ones"

"Mommy and Daddy"

Any reference to gender roles or separating the girls and boys

Someone smugly comparing their way of life to the godless heathens who do it wrong.

I wish I could do this, but I can't hold my liquor. I'd probably pass out in the first five minutes.

I think a shot per will land people in the hospital for alcohol poisoning before the first commercial break.

My husband and I play a similar version! We don't drink so we just use our water or juice or whatever, it's really more of a tongue in cheek game. Our daughters adore the duggars and honestly they're a lot better than a lot of the junk on TV so we let them watch it and usually we join them.

This season, we take a "drink" every time:

Michelle and Jim Bob kiss

They say "courtship"

Jessa says "Ben Seewald is a very special friend of mine"

And I suppose now we will be adding when Jill says "Derrick Dillard is a very special friend of mine"

Every time they say Ben Sewald I think Ben Sewell from the old Andy Griffith show. Ben Sewell ran a still out in the hills.

I forgot to include using the word "purpose" as an explanation for a reason to do anything.

More phrases that you'll have to drink a shot over:

"The Lord laid it on my heart to.... "

"I was convicted to...."

"I purposed to...."

Any visual of Tater Tot Casserole

Every time J-chelle says something in a TH that the readers of Free Jinger know is less than truthful

Let's face it, the entire group might have alcohol poisoning before the first commercial break! ;-)

At this rate, there will be so much consumption of alcohol that the older girls might "accidentally drink" again.

We play Duggar Bingo during the show. The boxes include many of the sayings noted above, as well as common scenarios--children crawling or walking on counters where food is prepared, random Scripture or chore charts posted around the house, random animals in the. House, a Creationist-related trip or activity, trips to the dentist, unsafe use of machinery or equipment, hand-sex, Jordyn giving someone the side-eye, motion-sickness being mentioned, pickled, etc.. Instant winner for sightings of notable fundies in a scene--Gothard! Maxwells! Rodrigueses! Loser gets to pay for take-out food. We debated having that person prepare and consume a recipe from the Duggar books or website, but decided that watching the show was sufficient punishment.

Babies are like flowers...

Countenance

Nike

Pleasing to The Lord

And there is one huge grammar fail they all say with such regularity that, quite frankly, I had to stop watching the show. Two years later, I don't recall what it was, but I'm certain I'd hear it 5 times in two minutes if I tuned in again.

The kids (kiddos if it is Anna) have so much energy, or need to burn off some energy.

The Bates are really old dear friends of ours.

anything about Fellowshipping

Jim Bob calling Michelle Mommy or Michelle calling Jim Bob Daddy.

A homeschool conference

It is actually much harder to just listen to the show. If you just listen you will hear just how limited and repetitive their vocabulary is. The show is really about nothing new when you just listen. They might be going to TN or DC or a farm but the words are the same everywhere.

The hardest game would be listen or watch an entire episode and write down some new word or phrase or story they said. It is always packing, fellowshipping, neat, energy and fading into some season of life.

Jim Bob calls Michelle "momma" :puke-front: I hate it when husbands do that, she's your wife, not your mother!

Was it "real good?" I remember at least one season I watched where every single Duggar on the show always seemed to say this, instead of "really good" or "well." Drove me crazy after awhile. :pull-hair:

Although to be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to the day where I can tell a man he looks "defrauding."

I cannot play this game on the night of airing but I can play on weekends. Since I more than likely be playing on weekend why not have a party I mean fellowship.

Guest List: as many as the lord gives you, you cannot inhibit your blessings from coming and strangers are not welcome (sins of the father)

Attire: Fundie favorites meaning frumpers and skirts below the knees for girls, and jeans and slacks for the guys. If you can make you own clothes you are very pious and should DJ the event.

Food: must be found in frozen food isle or grown yourself nothing in between.

Beverage: "Kool-AID" which can also be substituted for Jesus Juice

**Disclaimer if you wish to do anything such as kiss a party guest you must designate someone in the room as Bill Gothard and ask him to perform the ceremony. If you wish to hold hands you must "propose marriage". If the opposite sex wishes to have a conversation (someone who you have not "designated" as family) with you he must become the prayer partner of a male in the room read drinking buddy.

I agree so agree with this statement. My husband knows better. He also knows not to stroke my hair, I've told him knock it the hell off I'm not a dog to be petted. For the poster who plays Duggar bingo, I have to say it certainly would make the show more interesting. Does anyone ever play if I were asking the questions during the talking heads? What questions would you ask and what things would you go, um sorry bs meter hit a ten try again?

Ugh, me too! Now I have to laugh a bit though, because after watching them on closed captions, I always think 'pussy momma...'

I would love to know the circumstances behind the "accidental drinking". Where were they when this happened? There is NO alcohol in fundie circles...

On the Santorum campaign

So it wasn't an accident, then, was it?

I'm dying to know who gave them alcohol, because they wouldn't have gone out shopping for it in the first place. I'm also wondering why Jim Boob and J-Chelle decided they were going to overlook that one.

"Accidental" alcohol: I grew up in a family with multiple alcoholics. I KNEW to sniff any drink I was offered before taking a sip...
