Which Duggar Kids Will Live On Compound?

Which of the Duggar kids do you think is most likely to build a house on J'Chelle and Boob's land and live there as an adult, with their family?

I say Josie for sure. Maybe some of the boys.

I think Joy and Johannah will go as far away as possible.

Benessa, Smuganna when he's done at FRC, JD (that house they showed last season was such a lie), Jinger (I've lost all hope for her), and Josie

I think the younger kids have a much greater chance of staying than the older ones. As time goes by, people are going to lose interest and the money is going to start to dry up. Furthermore, the younger kids look like they're getting less of an education than the older ones did, and I think that'll play into their ability to get a job/create a business as well. I happen to think a lot of the howlers will end up staying on the property with their spouses/families, but the younger girls will presumably be married off--and what man (besides Ben) wants to stick around and be within walking distance of a father-in-law like Jim-Boob?

Smugger will come back with his brood eventually. I think he's going to want to run for office eventually, and he'll want to do that in Arkansas. It'll look good for right-wingers there if he's living on the homestead.

JD and Joseph probably will. I can't see either leaving. The land will be free to build on, and they'll have built in helpers for any future kids (their youngest sisters).

Jessa, no. I think she and Ben'll find a place of their own. If Jana and Jinger ever get married, I don't see them staying. Though, I am beginning to wonder if Jana will ever be allowed to leave.

Jill, I could see living there. She's just way too involved with the family, and since Derek doesn't come from a big family, he may like find the dynamic enjoyable for a few years.

Josiah, I think he'll be out of there as soon as he can find a way, assuming Alert hasn't brainwashed him too much.

Joy-Anna, no, I think she'll want to leave when she gets married. Though I hope she runs off before she's married off.

The Howlers on down, I don't know. I can see all of them staying, but I think that will be unlikely. The girls, I think, will be kept around for quite a while, because they will be called on to help raise their nieces and nephews. The boys will have a hard time finding work outside of family given jobs, so I can see them being staying dependent, whether or not they marry.

I have been seriously wondering about Jana, too. Joyanna recently made a comment in the episode where the kids had to learn to sing a song, something to the effect that if the Howlers didn't behave, she was going to have to call Jana to deal with them. Jana then told Joyanna in a talking-head that she was doing a good job minding them, and then one of the boys (Jackson?) said that you knew you were in trouble if Jana was called in to help.

If Jana is the lead sister-mom, I have a hard time thinking that Michelle is going to want to part with her anytime soon, even if Jana did meet someone and fall in love.

I look more at skills and the economy over personality.

There are 2 families who I know who have done this here in Utah. The parents have massive homes and land and then some kids have built normal family homes on the property. Both actually almost look like small subdivisions. The kids that ended up coming back and building either choose noble professionals with low pay(like teaching, policeman) or were into the arts and never found salaried type work. All the kids that came back wanted wives to be able to stay at home and have more then 3 kids.

I think it will be the same way with the Duggars. It will be the kids that believe in the wife/mom not working, want a larger then normal(meaning 2 or more kids ) family but did not find a professional that they can afford a home. I don't think all the boys are going to find solid employment to support a family.

It is a fine line for the Duggar since they preach there debt free, no college method works. Is it better to show them living close together on the compound or is it better for Jim Bob to give a son or daughter a small rental house to live in. I really think JB owns way more of these cheap fixer rentals then we know about. I bet he has enough small 2bed 1 bath homes he scooped up for 30k or less to go around.

I do think they will build a bigger or expand this guest house they have built recently. If Jill and Derek go off and do missionary work , is it necessary that they have a house in the states? I could see them coming home for 4-6 weeks at a time and staying at the guest house. Same with Josh. This is where it shows how sheltered Josh was growing up. He is a family of 5 now but he comes to visit his hometown and sleeps in a bus? or his brothers are kicked out to the bus so he can have the boys room. Josh doesn't have a friend to stay with, or another couple he is friend with that has little kids and guest room? The Duggars will certainly need this bigger or multiple guest houses in the future.

Smuggar will get his own place, Bessa, Josiah, Joy, all the lost girls will hightail it out of there. Jill, Jackson and Josie will stay. The rest I don't know.

It seems like it would make sense to build a few homes there for whoever wants to stick around, temporarily or not. I agree that if some of the kids end up missionaries they'd have a place to live when they're in the US and others could keep expenses down while saving to move away. I imagine those who remain will probably have to help mow the lawn and keep things fixed up, etc.

I hope Jana marries some great guy, but I just can't see Michelle dealing with the younger kids without at least one older daughter around to help. And I don't get the sense that either Jinger or Joy wants the job.

I think Josh and Anna will take over the big house--they'll have at least a 3 kid head start on the others in populating it. Beyond that, I don't think we can predict. For example:What if, sadly, one of the girl's is widowed? Would her brothers build her a home there or simply take her into their own home? I could see JB/M building a smaller home once Josh has enough kids for the big house. That way they'd always be close at hand to provide "wise counsel". Now, if a Duggar boy married a Maxwell.......I wonder which Umbrella of Authority (JB or S) would bet to have them nearby?

Personally I think the J'slaves should all build on the compound and make the Michelle take care of their kids after all she does owe them one. But on the with more likely things happening I think Josie will stay. She will more than likely not be a daughter mom and have better memories of home who knows things may become so lax with her that she goes away. I think JD and Joe will stay because based on what we are viewing their social skills stink. Benessa will return and Ben will continue his bromance with Jim Bob while Jessa rolls her eyes. Josh will also return to the compound he is practically the Golden Boy.

I think that as the children marry and leave, JB will offer housing on the compound as the only way to financially help a struggling child (or, more specifically, the child and the family that they create; I think singles will only be invited to remain in their current dorm.)

I don't 100% buy into the idea that JB was floating Josh at the car lot, but it seems clear that JB has helped Josh in some way, even if it's just using his established credit/name (I think plenty of parents would buy something in their name, with their good credit, but arrange for the child to pay the bills, including any money down; I know my parents did this with my first car). But, as the TV show dwindles and people no longer care, they won't have an image to maintain and JB won't have to help.

So, having trouble paying your bills? Finding a job? We'd love to have you come live on the compound! We'll put you in a camper, a tent, whatever, until you get up enough money to start building. Cheapest debt-free house you'll ever "own." Welcome back to the fold, sucker.

John David(agree with the lacking social skill comment, he just doesn't seem bright or employable), Jana (sadly, I just think her escape window is getting smaller) and a few of the younger boys. I think Smugger likes the lime light too much to come back. I just saw his hunger strike photo op and he seems very content)

I agree that J'Chelle owes the kids for taking care of their siblings. She'll pull off the "I love my grandkids!" act for as long as she can.

Perhaps Josie because her parents will try to keep her the baby as long as humanly possible. But my preemies are crazy ass fighters who are constantly struggling to gain independence. I don't have any experience with full term kids, so sometimes I attribute stuff to their prematurity that is just their personalities though. Since day 1 these kids have struggled and fought to live, to learn to eat, to breathe on their own, to come home, to roll over, to sit, stand, crawl and walk. Maybe Josie will be an independent little fighter that even the Duggars can't keep down.

Of course, my preemies have benefited from every therapy and specialist they needed, before they needed them. I don't know if the Duggars do that for Josie.

I think like someone said above, Jana's window is closing. Someone has to raise the youngest kids, her sisters are marrying out from under her and her mother has no idea how to raise a child anymore.

All of them if the show continues. Look at josh he's still controlled by Jim Bob.

I think once some of them get married and/or leave they won't look back.

Everyone expects Jill and Derick will live on the compound but I hope Dill surprises us. Just the fact that she chose a guy that seems fundie-lite (on paper at least), I hope he'll be her ticket out of there. Maybe go off on missions for the first 2-3 years of their marriage and when they come back to the US, they settle as far away as possible.

Oh well, one can dream right? :confusion-shrug:

Joy and Hannie can take over - all the boys but Jackson can largely take care of their own practical needs now. And Jana was buddying a toddler and baking Tator Tot Casserole at Hannie's age and captaining a buddy team of 3 or 4 at Joy's.

I think Josh and Anna will move close by, but not right on the property. I think they like having a bit of distance from the family. I think JD will eventually court a Query and build a house or move a trailer onto the property.

My top pick is John David and his future wife.

Yup. Him and Jim Bob are like two peas in a pod. They both laugh at the same tasteless jokes, they both pull inappropriate pranks, and they both have the same flippant attitude towards women. They're like twins from different generations. I totally see John David being content living on his parents' property with a really conservative, meek fundie girl. He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that's remotely interested in living an alternate lifestyle or setting things ablaze. Good 'ol boy, he is. Might even go into politics.

Anyone who said Josie...I don't think so. I'm going to place a bet and say that out of all the kids, she will be the tattooed and pierced punk girl partying it up. I think she will eventually get tired of the pressures and duties laid upon her by the title of Perfect Christian Miracle and rebel. She is likely the last Duggar child, and from what we have seen so far, her mother has done nothing but smother her and cling to her like a lifeline. It's all fine and well when they're little, but kids get tired of that pretty quickly once they hit puberty.

The guys would be more likely to stay, even if they marry. They can tolerate JB better than the D daughters can, imo. They're already used to his antics, and any ladies they marry will already know they have no choice but to put up with it all.So I see them marrying someone quite submissive.no joke right.

JD has a house, but I can see him renting that out and staying behind on the property. If anyone would do whatever JB wants, imo it would be him.He seems very laid back and agreeable, and not very motivated, imo.

Jinger and Joyanna will leave, imo. As will Jessa.I think she is already fed up with JB and his antics.

Jill will stay.Jana as well.

Joe may stay as well.

Josiah...idk.He might be the one guy to leave.

Imo the rest are too young to tell.

Oh yes,I can totally see JB using financial situations to keep control over the adult offspring.

I can't see JB ever approving of a Maxwell. He and Steve would be way too much at odds with each other as to who gets total control over their adult offspring. Two control freaks just doesn't cut it in one family.JB is going to make sure he has the control before ever approving of any marriages.Daughters and sons included, imo.
