Part 4

editorial note:

this is the most boring episode ever. I'm NEVER caught up live... theres just nothing to write about... this shit is awful.

More TH with the kids. Jinger says he's amazing and quiet. Hannie says he smells good. Howler says he wants to buy some of his cologne.

At the house, Ma seewald hugs. Daddy names his kids. All the girls are wearing long skirts.

They're excited that they are courting. They know Jessa through ben and want to get to know her as well. The sisters say they are a "perfect little couple" and opposites attract. There is a random box of apples on the table and a crazy amount of fruit everywhere. Huge flat screen on the wall. J'chelle watches the seewald kids while they go out for dinner.

Boob is home with the kids. Josie goes with him to wake up jordyn, who's asleep in the nest o love. Jordyn doesnt look like she wants to get up. Boob chastises Jennifer? for wearing a dress too short. Boob says its hard getting them dressed without michelle. They fuck with josie's hair and she doesnt like it.

Boob takes them to a pizza place where kids eat free "The mad pizza company" - one per adult. He counts 10 adults (12 and above) and 6 kids. $87.49 feeds the brood. The choice was pizza or BBQ tuna. Boob says its the best pizza he's ever had. Boob asks them what they think of ben. Hannie says he's handsome. Jordyn doesnt want Jessa to get married. Jennie says she doesnt want to get married because she doesnt like Kids?

Mullet is watching someone else's children? She doesn't even take care of her own.

Boob you're an ass... Do you have kids eat free? Cheap ass SOB. Buy used & save the difference.

Boobs bbq is tuna fish and bbq sauce mixed together. Yuck

They are good brothers because: look at Jana's she's 24 and not married.

Poor Jana

Omg! I almost died when he said that.

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching Michelle watch somebody else's kids. Do you think she actually had to interact with them and help them do things? Of did she explain the buddy system and delegate?

Free Jenny!

Part 5

Jinger TH - Ben tries to compliment Jessa but she blows it off

Michelle TH - thinks what he said was sweet and she needs to work it

Jessa says she was uncomfortable sort of. It was special but nervous. They sit at the table in a restaurant. Daddy has questions...

The first time you saw ben what did you think?

She thought he was a nice guy but doesnt consider anyone without dad. At the homeskool convention she "really wanted to meet him"

TH - not willing to get emotional and set her expectations

Food comes...

Ben TH - they came to church to get to know her better.

Jessa explains her sisters teased her that he kept coming around. She thought that when he asked for her number it really was to discuss theology with the great and masterful boob

Ben asked permission to try and "win her heart." She was clueless.

They had an argument the other night about who's getting the better end of the deal - he is.

Mom explains that ben went up on his own to see the duggars. He then decided that she was a "thinker" and was taken with her.

Dad asks if the courtship is going forward. Neither have a doubt about one another. Parents are happy.

Jessa TH - dinner was very good and speshyl. She got to know his parents better.

Jennie says she doesnt want to get married because she doesnt like Kids?

I imagine growing up I around that many kids is a lot like going to an all girls school: you either leave loving them [them being kids for the Duggars and girls for people at all girls schools] or you leave absolutely hating them; and you know fairly early which side of the board you're going to be on.

Humm, in the preview, Boob says "let's talk about the rules of engagement".... No reason to bring THAT up unless they are getting engaged...

Jennie says she doesnt want to get married because she doesnt like Kids?

I heard her say she doesn't like kissing.

I thought Jordyn not wanting Jessa to get married was so sad. When they announced the courtship, she was hugging her leg too.

I think the episodes about having wisdom teeth pulled were a lot more stimulating than this mess. I can feel my IQ dropping by the minute.

Jennie is insistent that she is not going to get married. Go Jennie!

Joy hit the nail on the head about marriage being a lot of work. Especially true if you're expected to pop out baby after baby and meet your husband's every need. I really think she'll be the one that escapes.

Jessa's a "thinker?"

That makes me Rodin.

I believe he means reserved and not overly showy.

This restaurant meeting with the Seewald parents is super creepy.

His parents are strange. Somebody needs to give Ben Seewald a full-frontal hug. That kid needs a self-esteem boost, stat.

The more this episode goes on, the more I think that the Duggars had no intention of being open with the courtship so soon. It would seem that the had to re-stage a TON of stuff (asking to court, meeting the parents, etc). All the re-staging seems SUPER stilted and uncomfortable. I'm like 75% sure now that Jessa and Ben had no intention of filming their courtship, until/unless their relationship resulted in an engagement.

It's almost like they didn't even tell TLC, and the network found out later via all the internet chatter and went "OH SHIT, WE BETTER FILM".

Almost had a heart attack when I saw the SR-22. That's a lot of plane for a pilot without a lot of experience. I'm assuming JD is still a student pilot and was flying with an instructor. Even if he has a private pilot's license, I'm glad he was flying with another pilot.

Not sure I'd let a student fly an aircraft worth $650,000 - 750,000, especially without another pilot. There's some serious $$$ behind JD.

Part 6

TH - Josie and Jennie dont want to get married

One of the boys wants to marry a girl just like mom. He says Hannie? wants a girl like daddy - she crosses her arms and glares.

In hotsprings - extended family comes to meet Jessa. Lots of disposable stuff.

They sneak out and sit on a swing. The camera guy is the chaperone.

Ben's favorite moments are when they can talk one on one (you mean, like a normal couple?) Jessa says dad has one sister. Ben's family is larger.

Jessa needs to lay off the bronzer. TONS of women in pants.

Back at the TTH - Boob says everything was wonderful, kisses michelle. Jessa says he's a keeper. Boob has an open bible. He asks where they would live. Jessa says it depends on where he finds work.

Michelle says its exciting as the older ones marry.

Boob says in a few months there could be wedding bells. Boob thinks other guys will now contact him for "open season" of the daughters :penguin-no:

Next time:

MINIGOLF PORN!

Anna builds a playhouse

Kids are doing something "special" for the parents

Anna is homeschooling

Hint at Jill - she's in love with someone she's never met...

This episode sucked. In fact, it sucked more than any other duggar episode ever. If this is the best they can do for a season, I'm gonna need more something to stay awake.

OTOH: They're trying to save their sisters from the dreadful fate of being clown cars.

Jessa and Ben are awkward and have no chemistry. Maybe they're different off camera though. At least I hope. Jill seems like she has more chemistry with Derek, and we haven't seen any video footage of them together. Just from Jill talking to her parents and her looking super excited when she first met Derek, they seem like a better fit than Bessa.

Anyway, since Ben is going to be the breadwinner if Bessa get married, I'm also worried he won't be able to support the household. Why did Jim Bob agree to Ben? lol

I agree, staged. The cup gives it away. In the show they hustle him right back to the mailroom for the "talk" but he has one if their cups for the soda machine in his hand. He was chillin a while before the camera crew showed up.

It pretty much would've had to have been staged because the camera crew isn't just hanging out there 24/7. But it may have been staged between Ben and the parents without Jessa or the other girls knowing beforehand. Or more likely Ben called up and said, "Mr. Duggar I'd like to court your daughter Jessa." And Jim Bob said, "Well you'd better come over to talk to us in person." And then he called up the film crew.
