OMM's latest boycott? Graham crackers!

I read this about this yesterday on Right Wing Watch. The "One Million Moms" of the American Family Association have decided that the new ads for Honey Maid Graham crackers which feature all sorts of families including a gay couple with chldren are just way too wicked for society! The nerve of the Nabisco company emphasizing how wholesome all this is! Nabisco must be stopped! Boycott Honey Maid Grahams crackers and Teddy Grahams, too! I have see any ads like the Honey Maid ones for Teddy Grahams so maybe those are just thrown in for good measure.

Old progressive, atheist me thinks the ads are charming.

Damn! I meant to add the link:

I saw this commercial the other day an wondered how long it would take OMM to take up the cause.

I love to check OMM when I am making my shopping list. If they boycott it, I am sure as heck gonna buy it.

This reminds me, I *really* like graham crackers. I do believe I'll buy some Honey Maids instead of store brand after church tomorrow.

I just ate some graham crackers. But I don't think I have ever been wholesome. What does that make me now? I'm so confused!! :|

My kids will be having S'mores with Honeymaid Graham crackers with their two moms tonight. :)

My little granddaughter just loves Teddy Grahams, but I really need to introduce her to the wonder that is S'mores.

I just noticed I was out of "grammy crackers" I will put them on the shopping list for tomorrow. Thanks OMM!

I'm still enjoying the extra Girl Scout cookies I got this year, too.

My sister and I ate so many Teddy Grahams as kids it's a wonder neither of us caught teh ghey. On the contrary--I have a distinct memory of eating Teddy Grahams in the middle school cafeteria while staring steadily at my (male) crush across the room...

Relax, Maxwell family. It's just Teddy Grahams. You can breathe a sigh of relief, because your animal crackers are still safe. All two of them.

Haha!! Maybe animal crackers will be next!

Obviously they don't understand how boycotts work. They should be boycotting Kraft, the Nabisco parent company. But if they did that, they would not have anything left to snack on. Here's a list of Kraft/Nabisco products that I grabbed, which includes *gasp* Animal Crackers!

OMM's fury towards anything and everything always gives me a chuckle. Especially once I learned that "One Million Moms" actually numbers far less than one million. I can't remember the exact numbers or the source, but I can't say I was surprised. I wish the mainstream media would start ignoring them rather than give them any more press. The more the media talks about how OMM is offended by the latest ad campaign/tv show/etc., the more important they will think they are.

I know that their One Million Moms facebook page only had about 40,000 likes for a long time. lol

Well, I shall pick up a box of Honey Maid to snack on at school this week. Thanks OMM for helping me with my shopping list.

Another reason to eat Graham crackers! One of my favorite games is reading OMM twitter and taking a sip of my glass of wine every time they use the word: "ashamed" or "offended religious stance" or any another Christians are being persecuted!!!!!!!111 bullshit.

The OMM have obviously never seen the new Sprint ads about Framily where the dad in the family is hamster or gerbil in a ball, the daughter is a little girl is a blonde named Heidi, complete with cartoon birds flying around her, a human wife, and various other kids and friends. They've aired two of these ads during tonight's Cosmos episode.

Soon OMM won't be able to buy anything!

I wonder how many of them are using Apple computers. Apple doesn't have ads with same-sex couples. Apple just plain gives cold, hard cash to pro-equality causes.

I always laugh when people bitch online about equal rights because you just know a lot of them are using computers from a company supporting "gay agenda."

This ad (which I think is really cute) always comes up when I'm watching stuff on YouTube and I was just waiting for OMM or some other conservative group to complain about it. Thanks for proving me right, OMM!

Besides the gay couple, the ad also features a family with a tattooed "punk rock" dad, a single father (who *gasp* isn't white) and an interracial family. I'm sure every single one of those examples in the "This is Wholesome" commercial made OMM clutch their pearls collectively!

Well, they'll probably be okay with Barilla pasta, although finding a morally acceptable sauce to put on it might cause some issues...
