The privilege of being a good man's doormat

I did read an article one about middle schoolers having oral sex in a classroom but I don't think it's a common thing...

A girl was caught at my husband's middle school giving a guy a hand job in class. Wasn't in the news, though, our school system is very good at 'damage control.' The public only hears a fraction of what really goes on in the schools. :? It's nowhere near as bad as the frantic fundies like to think, though.

Or your sainted husband could contribute and TAKE OFF HIS FUCKING SHOES BEFORE HE GOES INSIDE.

Woah, sorry. I think her analogy burst a blood vessel.

In the mid 1990s at my high school, two teenagers were caught having sex in a hallway in the middle of the school day. The horniness and idiocy of the common high school student is by no means a new phenomenon nor a sign of increasing moral decay.

Would you let me count it a privilege to be that good man's doormat?"

A "good man" would never treat his wife as a doormat.

If you are married to a man who treats you as a doormat, you are not married to a good man.

Next question please.

well, my doormat is mostly for decoration as the tiled entrance is relatively easy to clean. It just adds a little decor to my rather bare place. It really doesn't serve any real purpose at all. Some people may notice it when they enter, but most probably don't. If Lori's like my doormat, that'd be one sad life. Thankfully my doormat is simply woven cloth and doesn't have a brain and therefore does not have any thoughts about life, cannot reason or think at all, and doesn't have any feelings to hurt deeply. Humans, however, do, so to treat them like a doormat is to treat them as an object and when someone becomes an object, they can be seen as less than human, and when someone sees another as less than human, the other person becomes beneath them in status, and when person becomes beneath them in status, they are able to justify and commit harmful acts against them to further deepen the idea that the person is below them in life.

Someone please tell me why fundie husbands are such a catch? SSM, Lori, Duggars...I'm not envying any of these relationships. My husband treats me as an equal. He tries to be considerate, thinks about my emotional needs, makes compromises with me....all without throwing a tantrum or feeling threatened. So, why do fundie wives have it better than me?

I would really love to sit down with Lori and ask her how much abuse a woman is supposed to take from her husband. Broken bones? Cigarette burns? Permanent scars? When are you allowed to stop being a doormat and start acting like a fully-functioning human being with the brains that God gave you?

I think she is mentally ill. It concerns me that anyone is following her advice or looking to her for guidance in how to be a 'good wife'.

Agree!!

Lori and her ilk excoriate women for leaving marriages "just because they're unhappy." IMHO, being unhappy is the best possible reason for a woman to leave a marriage. I've done it twice, in fact (after years of paddling a sinking canoe). I'm financially better off, and my child and I wound up happier and saner.

Sorry, Lori--I have no intention of undertaking a relationship in which I have to go tiptoeing around some grown man's itty bitty feelings.

If my doormat started speaking to me- first I'd wonder where it came from since we don't have one, secondly is wonder what the heck was in those brownies and is it bad enough that I should consider calling the hospitL.

So..my son is getting married at the beginning of March and I tried on dresses today. I need to lose weight. I'm about 60-70 pounds overweight and I absolutely have to. I'm not one to post statuses but I'm doing everything I can to hold myself accountable. I'm sitting here wanting to stuff my face and I know this isn't the answer. I can do this. I will be okay. I'm going to make myself check in regularly. Whether or not anyone sees this, I am going to be posting.

Is anyone here from Moore County, NC?  I hope they catch the domestic terrorists that shot up the power substations.  All to stop a drag show!  Throw the fuckers in jail.

What do people do in the Sonoran desert? I've hiked the hikes I wanted to do. Seems like all that is left is golf, shopping at chains that exist everywhere, and stuff I've done. Oh and eating. I can only eat so many times a day. It's too cold to rent a paddleboard or swim.

First snow storm of the season hit today. It got windy tonight, and we lost power. Somehow this continues to be a shock to PSE. Why they refuse to upgrade the infrastructure or do something so that 10s of thousands of people don’t lose power and heat literally every time it’s windy, I do not understand. We live in the Pacific Northwest. It gets windy!

Nebraska's new football coach is an evangelical bullshit artist who participates in "Man Up Ministries" conferences in the off season. Their motto is "Fighting for Biblical Manhood". Excuse me while I go vomit.

      Long time no visit…
COVID has finally caught up with me. Dad tested positive first, last Friday, then my mother, brother and I all tested positive today. Main symptom is feeling really really tired. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse 🤞
