Raquel needs $2,000

I was wondering about her job too. I wouldn't be surprised if some church or Christian organization does a love offering for Raquel.

But a love offering by her church isn't really love for all those poor Peruvians she will be "ministering" (or harassing as some would call it) to

My sister had a mormon boyfriend in high school. His mission was to Northern Ireland in the mid-1980s because as my dad said at the time "What they need in NI right now is more religion!"

One of my mom's coworkers grew up Mormon, and as he and his brothers became young men, they were duly sent off on their missions. Brother 1 was sent to Thailand. Brother 2 went to Germany. The coworker eagerly awaited his assignment. Finally, the letter came. He would spend the year...in Utah. No Mormons there!

Raquel needs money? I suggest she follow Steve Maxwell's Godly Payment Plan for tuition at One-Ton Ramp:

"First, invest in a large envelope to hold the cash you are going to put in it. Then, use this cash to pay."

See how simple it is, Raquel?

I know a couple who does mission trips to Mexico once a year. Their mission work consists of helping with construction work or other repairs at orphanages. It could be that Raquel's trip to Peru would be about helping with construction work, but I can't imagine Raquel doing stuff like that.

I think she is just playing with orphans. I cannot see Raquel lifting a hammer or doing any sort of physical labor.

She might break a nail or get dirty, and then cry and whine for hours and expect everyone to drop what they are doing and comfort her.

The mission trips where they go do construction or painting work especially bug me. It would be far, far cheaper to pay for local workers to do the work than to fly in a bunch of unskilled Americans to do it. You're not particularly helping the local people, you're just making yourself feel good. And that's okay--there probably is a lot of benefit in exposing the people who go on these trips to a new culture--just admit that's what it's about and don't ask me to pay for your vacation.

In all seriousness...HOW OLD IS SHE NOW????!!! She reminds me of a MTV Sweet 16 monster.

Fundies drive me absolutely crazy with their poor planning. If you want to go on a trip, you should save up for it and plan accordingly. Why is this such a difficult skill for Fundies to master? I've met 13 year olds who mastered this when they wanted to go on a school trip with their classs-mates.

Fundies expect everyone else to take care of them and foot their bills (oh, except the government of course and the ebil food stamps for hungry families! In that case they'd rather split a single chicken breast 6 ways and get praised on their blogs for "stretching the family dollar, ya'll!")

It would probably be better to use the $2000 to pay a local person who could be a consistent person in the children's lives instead of having a revolving door of poverty tourists coming in and out of the children's lives. But this is less about what is best for the children and more about making people like Raquel feel better about themselves.

Miss Slut Bucket Raquel has posted her new porn novella. She's so horny Godly.

Yeah, I noticed she put all her "novellas" in one place? Btw, I thought a novella was a short novel, several thousands of words at least.

Anyway, I don't think she's completely without talent, shame she limits herself to wish fulfilment instead of trying to hone her skills.

It read like a 13-year-old girl's diary

She has potential. If she would be willing to go take a real writing class, listen to criticism and stop making all of her writing about guys she lusts over she could become a published writer. I didn't even make it through her latest one.

But she wont ever take a writing class.

I know people like Raquel, and they would never even consider it. They don't think they need to as they are already the greatest writer in the world and the only reason that publishers/teachers/anyone they show off their skills to don't drop to their knees and worship them as a God is because they are "too stupid to recognise good talent when they see it" or are "just jealous of their amazing genius talents"

Because JESUS!!

Some mission trip to Peru and she needs the money by May next year. So don't give her Christmas or birthday gifts. instead help fund God's daughter.

Raquel can get off her ass and get a job to pay for her trip. Besides, there is so much she could do in her own country.

Maybe she can get a job as a professional cuddler to pay for her trip, seeing as how she's often posted on Twitter about wanting/needing someone to cuddle with her: shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/would-you-pay-to-cuddle-a-stranger--004132218.html

Yeah, I think you are right. She will never accept even the tiniest bit of criticism.

Well if you don't like criticism, feel free not to be a writer. :)

There's a difference between constructive criticism and just plain criticism.

That's very true- so here's some constructive criticism 1. Find a genre besides romance 2. Make it more "natural sounding" (it sounds fake) 3. Make the guy less creepy 4. Show, don't tell 5. Take a frickin' writing class

1. I do write different genres. I don't post them though.

2. Okay, I can try that. You're the first to complain haha

3. You're the first to complain about this too;)

4. Hmmm...everybody else thinks the guys are great.

5. Yeah I've been wanting to actually. Thanks for the encouragement to!:)

I don't believe that she writes anything besides romance.

The one I learned in college writing classes is to write about what you know. If you write about what you don't know it shows. Having never dated you don't know what being in a relationship is like and it shows in your stories. You have loads of potential you just need a subject you know well.

I may have never been in an official relationship but please don't think you know everything about what I have or haven't done.

For those who don't want to wade through her last romance I'll recap:

She stops to take a picture of herself in a window. A British guy shows up and stands next to her so she won't be by herself in the picture. Her eyebrows initially frown at his sudden arrival but he has a cool accent so she decides this isn't creepy at all. He then follows her to a book store, tells her to pick out a book and he will buy it for her. She wants to give him her number but guys should initiate so she doesn't. She goes home and notices that he is her new neighbor.

I'm pretty sure that's a glorified prostitute.

You all joke, but I have seriously seen people asking for money to fund a [link=http://www.inspirationcruises.com/christian-cruises/cruise-with-a-cause-2014]Caribbean missions cruise.[/link] Or there were some people soliciting funds so they could do prayer walks around various foreign cities. Not even interacting with actual people (probably a good thing, actually), just walking around and praying.

This stuff is a serious pet peeve with me.

I've never heard of a "prayer walk" before and lo and behold, I found someone soliciting $1500 to fund her "prayer walk". Her goal is to walk and make people aware of the importance of water. In exchange she will take pictures and post them to Facebook.

:wtf:

(Bolding mine)

"I am asking for the gift of your support so I may join the Mississippi River Water Walk (see page for this on FB) this March and April. In order to go and be able to contribute to the shared cost of transport, food and lodging, I need to raise $1500 by the end of February.

Each step in the roughly 1500 mile walk along the Mississippi River, from the headwaters in Minnesota to its delta in Louisiana, will be, at once, an act of prayer and an offering.

By walking, I will be joining my prayer to those of Ojibwe elder, Josephine Mandamin, who first envisioned and began the prayer walk for water, and to the intentions and prayers of all those from the Anishenabe and other First Nation communities as well as non-Indigenous supporters who have walked with her in her water walks over the last 10 years. Together, all who walked have created a movement whose aim and effect is to awaken a deeper awareness of the importance of water as sacred and vital source and sustenance for all living things and to spur an urgently needed change in the way we live in relation to water and all life.

The walk is a prayer for water and at once an expression of and a call for the kind of change we need to live . At the same time, the walk is an offering: with every step, I offer a listening stillness and openness of heart to be a willing and possible part --like a living stitch--in the work of healing our relation to water and all that shares in the sacred fabric by which we are and are sustained."

By giving your support, you will help me make this walk and join, in spirit, with me. I offer, in exchange, to share my reflections and images from the walk as I go (on my prayer walk for water page on FB).
