Not quite,recall the episode where JB and M were in Central America...it's on YT,or at least it used to be.The older girls stayed behind,and Josie had a febrile seizure and Jill called 911,so JB and M rushed back home on the first flight they could get.

Oh I totally get that it's not the same thing as a regular family having a yard sale. It's one of many reasons I think reality shows, just by their very nature, are horrible for the children. I'm just saying that given their situation I would probably be concerned if someone was seeming a little too close to the kids. You would expect people to be curious and talking to them, but if it was too many questions from the same person, or the questions seemed off..I would get very nervous.

Fundraiser s are important to charities not just for the actual cash, its the awareness ( which equals more cash from more donors ) that's a big plus. Sometimes an actual event won't even raise much, but the publicity means lots of money.

Some people make it sound like FMJ was grilling the minor children and filming them, yet if you read her posts, she clearly states that she got no pictures of the little kids and she further states "The only under 18 kids I spoke to were Joy and Jedidiah. Jackson and Jenny I only said hi to. "

People were all gung ho to hear about everything that went on at the yard sale until they found out about the pen camera, which while probably not the best idea, is not as far as I can tell, illegal under AR law. Since she wasn't talking to the little kids, it's kind of moot anyway since there was no "asking the minor kids tough questions and filming their answers."

If you don't think people are filming things on their phones, in public, likely catching you and your children at some point you are likely mistaken. People are constantly filming with their phones. Just take a look at youtube at all the stuff you can find on there. People take pictures surreptitiously all the time (people of walmart anyone?).

This was an event that the public was invited to by celebrities. They acknowledge that pictures are going to be taken because they say not to share them on social media. They knew they had no expectation of privacy, particularly when they are filming for a reality tv show at the same time.

I, personally, don't particularly think FMJ answering questions does anything but make them look worse and worse because so far nothing she has said she did has violated any AR laws that I can find (IANAL, but statues are pretty straight forward in this area). It just makes the Duggars and TLC look bad, IMO. However, I don't know that the points should keep being belabored until this matter is settled, just to be on the safe side.

Had she been able to go in and come out with a few pictures - since when do pictures hurt people, esp. since all of the participants have family blogs and albums online, loaded with pictures of their "lives" - she would have acquired stardom here.

Josie had to go to hospital more than once though. She went back to the NICU while they were still in Little Rock and also had to be taken in while Jim Bob and Michelle were away.

Then while Josie was in the hospital Mullet went on her Carrie Nation crusade to get beer banned from a convenience store near her house. Priorities.

I don't think anyone has been saying the trip was wrong. What I've read is some people indicating they feel the spy pen was a bit much, some saying it was too much, and others saying they don't think it's a big deal given how the Duggars are fame whores. Some people have also said that maybe FMJ shouldn't have put so many details about her plans, but I haven't seen anybody, except maybe one person?, say they thought what FMJ did was an "abomination".

I think it goes to show how protective the Duggars are of their image if they freak out this hard over a couple of questions. I think the incident makes Duggars look bad, not FMJ. There are 2 sides to every story, but charging someone with harrassment at a public event just because they don't like a group the person belongs to? Really?

Then, FMJ left for the party with the intention of laying low and checking out how things are there.

Her being kicked out wasn't enough, the same group of people keeps scolding her for her sticking by her plan and going to the event. She did have a spine to pull it off, wo the intention to cause a scandal.

That was my point. Can people give her a break or, next time if someone offers to visit a fundie event, talk her out of it instead of encouraging her THEN turning on her when things go wrong.

This is true, but in Arkansas, the Alcohol Control Board is in Little Rock, literally 5 minutes down the street from the hospital Josie was in. wouldn't be MY choice, but she was only gone from the NICU for an hour or two. So it's not true, as many rumors stated at the time, that Michelle went all the way back to Springdale/Tontitown to give her little speech on why alcohol shouldn't be sold in teh gas stations. (which is just odd, in my opinion. I mean really? The kids can see it in the restaurants, too? What's the difference? I grew up seeing it sold in every store in our area, including the grocery store. My parents just told us not to drink it. (yes, I was raised pretty conservatively.))

I know it bugs people sometimes when people clarify things and make sure the facts are straight... and it may seem as though I am defending the Duggars. I'm not. I just think there's plenty of stuff to snark on without snarking on things that aren't true or are just rumor (like the girls getting up with the babies through the night, etc. No one really *knows* that. )

You'll note it was actually produced and directed by Josiah (or Raggud Haisoj). I seriously doubt Smugs spent much time with the boys on his trip. He's credited only as "technical editor".

I do think the choice of music is interesting, considering the Duggars have always sworn they only listen to spiritual and classical music. My father was a huge Marty Robbins fan whose biggest hit I believe was "El Paso" which starts off like this:

So where are all these posts saying FMJ is a bad person? Where are all the posts scolding her? Would you care to C&P all these awful posts? Particularly it would be useful if you can post those who encouraged her to go along with the same poster then after the fact where they call her a bad person?

That's ridiculous. No one said, or even implied, she was a horrible person or did something awful. Before she went many people were excited to hear the details of the trip. After she went many people were concerned or upset about the way she was treated. A few people said they could see how what she did might have been taken the wrong way by the parents, just because there are creepy people out there or that maybe the way she went about it was little too intrusive.

And there are many, many people here, of course they aren't all going to think exactly the same way on every single thing.

I'd also like to clarify that I doubt she asked anything over the top, maybe she just said something that was phrased somewhat the same way as some creeper email they'd received, maybe they have been coached to be on alert for certain types of questions for security reasons, maybe there was some surprise plot point for the show that they didnt want broadcast, who knows ? Seeing all the very disturbing things on the Internet I would assume that the family gets a fair share of bizarre attention from obsessed "fans" of the kids.

How did anyone figure out it was a pen with a camera?

I can only speak from my experience based on the one my son owns, but some of the spy pens, although vaguely pen-shaped, look more like actual camera devices than others. If you inspect my son's pen, you'll note it has a tiny lens and eye piece for viewing. If one doesn't actually know what to look for in such a device, and if the quality is such that it actually resembles a pen, on the other hand, it might be easier to overlook the fact that it is a camera.

At least the boys looked like they were having fun. And I agree, it was creative. Better than a lot of other teen/kids' music videos I've seen.
