new maxwell family photo

sigh. those girls....is there something in the new testament about brow wax?

Probably not, which is why Steve has never heard of it and he would have to initiate any discussions on eyebrow grooming for it to even be considered. It'd be nice for Teri to have some good underwired bras, too. Even under a frumber a decent bra can do wonders.

We asked Christopher to do the photo shoot, and Anna Marie was his wonderful help-meet.

Ugghhh. Maybe I'm feeling more snarky that usual today, but I can't stand that word. Also...why is it that they sometimes have the entire family in the "family photo", and sometimes don't?

I just had a complete WTF moment there. I saw the title of this thread and thought it said, 'New Maxwell Porno'.

I cannot imagine having to dress in the same clothes as my sisters every freaking day. What is the point of that? What are they accomplishing with the matchy-matchy clothes? It really creeps me out.

Honestly, I don't think the photos look very good. Too dark, and with the strange contrasting their faces look plastic and unreal.

The combo of the matching clothes & identical hand-holding-wrist poses is what's getting me. Bit of a freaky Twilight Zone/clone army thing going on there. Anyone else get the feeling that the last photo is Sarah's favorite because it's the only one where they all look like individuals?

Even with the best possible editing, they would still look plastic and unreal, just because they are Maxwells.

I hate it, too! I was just coming to post about that myself. It just grates on me.

Why weren't Christopher and Anna Marie in any of the photos? Is there a Maxwell rule that says once you're married and out of the house, you're out of the family group photo?

These photos are terrible! I don't understand why they are doing this weird lighting thing. They look like the Children of the Damned or something. If I was going to make a movie about a creepy cult family, these would be the perfect posters, no modification necessary (not even being shown in the negative). I was going to ask how they can possibly not realize their family photos look like posters for a horror movie, but I suppose that if you are the Maxwells, you really might not realize that. I hate the way the girls stand with their arms crossed in front (especially Mary). The Maxwells are downright unreal to me.

The pictures are terrible! It's like the camera was set on manual and they didn't realize how underexposed they were, but I get the impression that there were some "effects" added in photoshop after.

Seriously these photos are creepy.... how do they not see how disturbing they look

I definitely get that feeling. I feel so sad for those kids. They will never get out - its just not possible. The guilt that Daddy has 'laid upon their hearts' must be like something I've never even imagined.

How hard is it to find matching outfits when all you ever do is match? Teri doesn't even matc the girl anyway.

...And I'm really tired of being defrauded by having to type TIT to get to their site. NIKE!!!

In the past, they've done yearly photo shoots with the entire family, including married people, their helpmeets and their quivers children. I don't know when they are due to do another of those.

Christopher actually is in a couple of the photos. What I found interesting is that he was, but Anna Marie wasn't. I'm starting to think some of the speculation around that topic is right. :twocents-02cents:

It's really modest to write long posts detailing the careful attention you paid to your outfits, lighting, etc., and then to post photos of your photoshoot online demonstrating how involved your posing was. Frankly I'm surprised that they didn't photograph themselves praying beforehand for Christ's providence in the photo shoot, and that they didn't post prayer requests the day before for a successful shoot. :snooty:

Why do they need another photo "session"? They just took photo's in October/Nov. Sarah said in a blog they do the photo's once a year, around October.

I agree that CM's photo's were terrible. The girls shouldn't have worn white shirts. Everyone knows no white. It washes you out.

Shots from down below predispose double-chin in people who don't normally have one, (it does to me, anyway) so I kinda always dislike that. It also makes it look like they're looming over their blog.

I actually like the girls' skirts. The blouses are cute too, but I don't like them together. I think I would have preferred a sweater set with the skirt--it looks a little odd to have something so structured on top and flow-y on the bottom. I would have liked Mrs. Maxwell's outfit if her sweater had fit a little better--it comes down too far on the sleeve and wrinkles on the front. And if she were in bolder colors. But I'll take skirt + top over floor length frumper any day.

The guys look a lot more formal than the girls.

we chose a week ago Sunday evening for the photo. We knew it was going to be hot: lower 90′s with humidity, but it needed to be done right away,

Uh, why? Was the other photo going to self-destruct the next day or something?

Also, why did they take it in front of an old church? Marketing maybe? They are so anti-church, why pose in front of one. Why not pose in front of their "church".

That's bad enough, but on the blog header they put a fade on the bottom of the picture so it bleeds out to white. It makes some sense considering the blog background is white, but the fade is too quick and the white is WAY WAY WAY too close to the shirts and faces so it's making the humans in the picture look extremely overexposed, to the point I want to close my eyes looking at it.

That fade needs to happen farther down, or be made narrower, or SOMETHING.

I was surprised they posed in front of a church, too. And it's quite ornate looking. It couldn't be a, gulp, CATHOLIC church, could it?

I noticed that too. It's like, hello, we don't go to any church, but we'll use your church as a backdrop.

Personally, it looked like the Children of the Corn and their parents.
